My FC reported 4 A ranks today, so combined with seals I earned over the last week from just the daily and weekly marks, I had enough to round out my i90 set, since I already owned the most expensive bits, the robe and the shorts. Hunting really makes the endgame progression curve a bit wonky; it's just a huge jump from i50ish with artifact gear to high i80s from just hunts.
The so called old guard are also pissed that the next stage of the relic weapons is coming in the next patch and fear it will be equal to or better than the high allagan weapons.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.Isn't that to be expected though? That's the whole point of the relic weapons—so long as you keep up with the longest grind in the game, your relic weapon will always be on the cutting edge. Old content will always be phased out in time, the High Allagan weapons included, while the relic will keep getting updates.
My point is why should anyone even care. It's not like Novus or even Animus is faster or easier than doing the coils. Both kinds have their own flavors of grinding and RNG.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.I have not been keeping up with my relic grinds :c I have one character doing his books for Animus, another is kinda doing Fates for Atma (insofar as if I pass a fate I'll do it, not made any proper effort at it), and the other one I haven't bothered starting the Atma grind because she's going to be doing the rogue and ninja stuff when it comes out, and no way I'm doing two Atma grinds at once.
I feel like all this grinding is too much.
It could be worse. A lot worse.
Well, happy anniversary guys.
A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit in.That music in Limsa man....
It's replaced the festival music in all the cities (haven't checked Ul'Dah).
A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit in.I don't go to cities anymore except for stuff like this since we got our FC house.
as an ul'dah native and Black Mage I can confirm the music change there as well.
Finally got in.
Classic!XIV's theme is kinda creeping me out. It's just... there.
You mean the version of Answers that played in certain places? Yeah I can understand why (especially since it was originally used for the moonfall)
Anyway I returned to the game after playing Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory (and I'm still plan on playing that for a little bit more) and I managed to get the Shanotto event (and minion) last week. Now I've finsihed with the Rising (with a Creator Cameo and Heartwarming Moment attached) and the Moonfire flair event (I also goot the scion minions to boot) Now I;m trying to get trough the XIII event
Oh and I gotten soem awesome pics from the Shanotto and Rising events and all the yukatas

Wait. Who was in the creator cameo? I get the whole Rising event was pretty much a nicely done in-world thank you for sticking with, but all I saw was the normal set of NPC heroes. And that bard.
The bard is Yoshida's Author Avatar.
It's also the same Wandering Minstrel who likes to exaggerate the tales of your heroics, see Ultima HM and 2nd Coil Brutal mode. It's basicly Square's plot device for getting things past the fourth wall that don't actually fit in canon if they were to happen "for real".
Okay I have two questions regarding the character sheet:
- how come Namamo isn't on the page?
- Why in the seven hells is Alphinaud listed as The Heavy? The first line of that page directly states that people under that trope are antagonists
I already removed the entry

Probably because FFXIV hasn't really hit Troper Critical Mass yet. It's probably not viewed or edited very often. And if there's a misapplied trope, you should remove it.
to be fair. Nanamo doesnt exactly show up and do shit nearly as often as Raubahn.
The only time you see nanamo working on her own instead of via Raubauhn proxy is when you save her from voidsent near the start of the ul'dah plotline.
Thats not to say Nanamo Ul Namo shouldnt be on the character sheet, just that her story importance has been limited so far , especially compared to the other rulers of the 3 nations.

Seems like there's stuff going on with the Syndicate and so on at the moment though, perhaps Ul'dah as a nation will play more of a part in future storylines. Then again, there's that new place in Coerthas coming up, not to mention the Adventurer's Guild being built in Revenant's Toll.
We'll probably see these come ahead before the first expansion pack is done.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. So I finally did it. I set foor into The Binding Coil of Bahamut and clear Turn 1, I'll get to work clearing the other 4 turns soon, but I;m not sure about doing SCoB yet
I've done the first 4. Of those, T4 is the only real challenge you have ahead, unless you don't use the enrage method for T2, which your party probably will.
As for T5, I haven't even seriously attempted it yet, let alone the Second Coil.

A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit in.Just cleared T2 and I think this sums up my feelings for the aforementioned strategy (not sure if worksafe)
Is hunting still profitable? I mean, without the B's in circulation A's become the major targets, and there's only 17 of them and they have a ~3.5 hour respawn. Do you really find that many?
