Will wonders never cease. Instead of just dropping off a class-add slip for the next part of my self-paced class, I have to see a counselor and get them to close the section I've already done off so THEN I can add the new section.

Are the higher ups TRYING to sabotage education? Because I've had suspicions ever since they tried to force the arts classes to stop being repeatable.

Just got an acceptance letter and a partial scholarship from my first choice school!

I don’t even know anymore.

Our first group presentation is complete. We worked well as a group, and managed to pull it out of the bag.

Six out of ten.

Oh.

Well, at least I was the best-performing member of the group, by a wide margin. I'm so great at presentation modules.

I'm seriously thinking of abandoning my latin classes.

I like the material, the teacher is great, but it takes up A LOT of room and effort in a schedule that's already pretty packed. ( 5 other classes, work, sport, etc.)

Fairly sure i'm behind already, and it's only going to get worse from here on, as things get more complex and more vocabulary adds up.

I'm also severely lacking in the prerequisite grammatical knowledge ( the hell is a complement? an adverb? etc.) to properly learn the language, and I didn't know that before eagerly taking up the class.

It makes me sad because I was so happy to take up Latin, but i'm afraid it'll have to go if I want to succeed in my other classes. :(

Well, I finally got enrolled in the next section of my self-paced math class.

This part is surprisingly easy. I'll probably be done by about next week.

It feels strange to say that about math, but yay!

So overworked it's not funny any more. Way too many seminary groups and mock trials to actually get some freaking reading done. My course paper came back noting several things I hadn't included...but half of those I knew about, I just didn't have room within the word limit for it. Exam is in under two weeks; I'll be glad to see the back of it. I'm gonna sleep a week, seriously.

Writing a paper on state coastal zone management plans is the most boring thing I've done since entering this program. The paper (and a presentation) is due Wednesday, and I've barely started because reading government documents is mind-numbingly boring.

I'm in a really good place right now. I'm taking neuroscience, psychophysics, introductory research methods, theatre studies, and criminology and I love all of my courses. I had midterms for all five courses last week so I was really stressed out, but I got my grade back for neuro and I got 87. I also applied to be a residence assistant next semester and on Monday I have an interview for this LGBT helpline I've signed up to volunteer for. Things are really looking up for me!

Nah, I'd hate that too. Luckily, my mother doesn't. The very thing I love the most about university is the independence I get.

Well, it's only twenty sources for a minor Sophomore paper in an elective class. At least half of which must be peer-reviewed. What's the worst that can happen?

The other half don't have to be peer-reviewed?

What kind of sources are sources without peer-review?

Dear lord no wonder an entire unit of my class is devoted to goddamn graphing problems because I HATE THIS NOISE.

I follow every fucking step in the example problem-solving, and I plug everything into its right place, but somehow about half of this last assignment just fucking SUCKED and I am sooooo not looking forward to the practice test.

I know it's an online course, I'm only a few days off-schedule, and I'll technically have another month to work on my fourth unit, but FJDKSLANKL;NAGN I HATE MATH.

I wish there was a math exemption for art majors. There is no fucking way I'm going to need any kind of algebra in theater.

Context: I am a first semester freshman at college and I need some assurance.

I just bombed an Econ exam (50 percent out of 100). This isn't as crippling as it sounds as the previous two exams I did relatively well on. So, I have a C average in the class right now. I wouldn't be too sad about that but I also have a C average in Psychology after I didn't do as well on my last exam (not a great exam week for me to say the least). Anyway, I could theoretically could bring those two grades up to B's but it would require insane grades on the finals.

Anyway, I'm just worried. As my grades currently stand, I might end up with two C's (Econ and Psych) and two B's. Not the grades I'm used to receiving. I'm probably just worrying needlessly but it'd be nice to hear what you guys have to say. Can I bounce back from those grades? Should I even be worried?

Unless you're riding on an academic scholarship, I wouldn't worry too much about getting a few Cs. And if you really want to raise those grades then study your butt off. Also make sure you know how your final grade is weighted (is the final exam worth more than the others, how much are other assignments worth, ect.). That will let you know what you need to focus on.

I've bombed tests before but still ended up with a B. It's doable.

Muse pretty much covered it. The weighing is important for your overall grade, and you shouldn't worry too much about Cs unless you're aiming for a certain job or position with high competition over spaces, or a job within higher education.

Congratulations, Dr. Loni! [awesome]

Xopher: I suppose math is important in music theory and possibly if you're specifically composing music, but I've just written lyrics and come up with demos/concepts so far. I don't need math in my specific case.

Also, I don't understand how I managed to breeze through the homework when the practice test is practically a foreign language.

At least I have until December 5 to finish the practice test and then sit in for my actual test. Thanks for fucking up my groove, college's ill-timed computer glitch.

Introductory, and conclusion paragraphs are hard you guys. Also everything is due, though on the plus side no mid-terms, the down side is I can't find out when my last class this semester is for some reason.
