Gravity manipulation or not, i don't think that would be good for his balance. Also, Kyon is not that boastful. Really not his style.
EDIT: So, having just read Surprise, i'm eaten by the desire of a third series. Any news on that front?

Kyon; He's in his harem, All's right with the world Scratching at the cat box since 1986 while Battling with Dread Shoelace Robots.Just a thought. Couldn't help it, he looked so happy.
I did naht.Like the first time he was roof hopping?
Kyon: Big Damn Hero: timeline & trailerExactly.
Naruto style, probably.
I did naht.No really, don't even let the concept of K:BDH near that sad trite copy of Goku (in an orange jumpsuit).
What would you say if Chuyou was "riding" on Kyon's head, and Achakura was dangling dangerously from a piece of clothing, preferably terrified?
Kyon; He's in his harem, All's right with the world Scratching at the cat box since 1986 while Battling with Dread Shoelace Robots.Um, guys...
Not to pour vinegar on a salted wound or anything, but I just had a very disturbing thought about Nonoko's field trip, due to Durandall's recent interest in Puella Magi Madoka Magica...
To put it in a single word...

I have returned, and my vacation in the void was so boring...@Mad Kitsu: No. Just... No
K: I have an idea, but I'm not sure how safe it is. S: I like it already! The SOS Brigade will wipe the floor with that abominable creep faster than you can say "puella magi".
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Holy crap, I didn't think that it would make you guys actually see red... (And speak in red, too...) It's just that the thought came up and it actually scared me to even consider the possibility...
I'm sorries, kitsu... (shakes in terror)

I have returned, and my vacation in the void was so boring...Give me a grief seed, anyone....
I vaguely remember wondering what the big deal was about a white rabbit. I even drew it in my notebook cause I thought it was cute. Then I watched the show....
You have to admit though, Kyubey never lied to them at all. When Kyoko died though....

I did naht. They'd probably give him emotions and make him into a pet faster than he can say Entropy. Then we'd learn he's an old prototype by the IDSE, made before it discovered Haruhi. So, maybe Yuki will just cook him on a barbecue (we all know he's made of mochi).
Or maybe he's not IDSE related, but the Yuki-cooking-mochi part still holds. Fresh from Surprise, I can tell she loves Nonoko.
Coat detailed with pockets, belt, buttons. Do you like it with normal cuffs◊ or with buttoned cuffs◊ more?

Kyon; He's in his harem, All's right with the world Scratching at the cat box since 1986 while Battling with Dread Shoelace Robots. My vote goes to normal cuffs. It just looks more classy that way.
I did naht.Looking better with each update. Good job fixing the shoes.
Personally I like the buttoned cuffs. I think the buttons on the coat are too low and close together, though. Typically the lowest button will be somewhere around crotch height, while the highest ones reach anywhere from the base of the sternum up to the top of the breast below the collarbone.
Fix'd this and that. Now, i loved the buttoned cuffs as well, and hated the other kind of sleeve, so i'll ignore that. To give all of you an alternative, i made Another kind of buttoned sleeve, less peculiar.◊ Tell me what you think. I like it a lot, even if not as much as the other buttoned sleeve.
If you think that i'm OCD to obsess over such a minuscule detail, that's because i'm OCD over this kind of pointless, minuscule details.
Ah, Kyon gets a less stiff new hand.

Kyon; He's in his harem, All's right with the world Scratching at the cat box since 1986 while Battling with Dread Shoelace Robots.I preferred the first buttoned sleeve, although I like the new one more than the unbuttoned sleeve. A strap is pretty common on a lot of coats. Mine has one.
Kyon's new hand is an improvement. Have you tried drawing it in a fist?
Oh, I thought that first one with a strap was a TPDD. LOL
If that's the case, I vote for it.
I did naht. Not really - Kyon is relaxed, why should he clench his fists? plus, he's trying to balance himself. Think of it like...going on a tightrope. Tight rope. Not tigh trope. haha. Oh what a great comedian i am.
TPD Ds have no outer physical form. Besides, Kyon doesn't have one in the original nor in K:BDH. How in the earth did you think of that? If it's so, i'm choosing the strap.
Ok, forget about the chibi for now. They add a comical aspect that isn't really intended... Maybe i'll add Chuyou later...

Kyon; He's in his harem, All's right with the world Scratching at the cat box since 1986 while Battling with Dread Shoelace Robots."Chuyou"?
When was that coined?
edited 9th Aug '11 3:21:25 PM by PaxEmpyrean
I think in that exact post, but it fits so well that we all understand and agree.
I think I prefer chibi Kuyou or chibi!Kuyou, so as not to cause confusion with people who don't know we're not dealing with an original character.
Random question:
Is this flower◊ (cropped from this picture) a Tawny Daylily (the fourth picture of the article, it also has its own article)?
Edit: For easier comparison◊.

K: I have an idea, but I'm not sure how safe it is. S: I like it already!Looks like it to me, but I'm not a botanist.
Trivia:
The Japanese name for the Hemerocallis fulva is 忘れ草 (Wasuregusa), meaning "Plant of Forgetfulness" as it was supposed to allay sorrow by causing forgetfulness, which is somewhat related to the cyclic nature of Higurashi and it could be a reason why they used a daylily in the cover of one of the DVDs of the second season. Another picture (also a cover for a DVD) portrays Shion wearing a dress with the print of a flower, but I'm not so sure if it's a daylily in this case.
K: I have an idea, but I'm not sure how safe it is. S: I like it already!Kyon's home with delicious starry background.◊ Now, is this good enough? Maybe another kind of scenery is in order-especially, the perspective would be wrong if i just copy-paste Kyon there. I was thinking of something more cityscape-y. More crowded, if you will.
That picture is definitely a daylily. Is it from Higurashi? It looks like a cel... EDIT: And stupid me, i didn't see it was cropped from the other... my bad.
To explain the perspective thing: Kyon is drawn strictly from the side, this means he's roughly at the same height of the vanishing point. The picture of his home has a vanishing point at eye-level from the street, so to preserve correct perspective i should place him at about 1,70 cm of height. Definitely not awesome, so what we need is a city picture from above, anything goes as long as the camera took the picture at an height higher than the roofs, or anyways at a suitable "awesome roof-hopping height".

Kyon; He's in his harem, All's right with the world Scratching at the cat box since 1986 while Battling with Dread Shoelace Robots.
Hmmm.... The shoes are a tad bit small for a person that big IMO. And for the hair, I don't think you should mess with that. It's Kyon's signature hairstyle after all.
And I think if you changed the smile into a more neutral expression, it would look more Kyonish.
Am I the only one expecting the next drawing update to have Kyon stretching out his right arm in a pseudo-Superman like pose?
I did naht.
