Definitely Wind Waker. Skyward Sword's combat can go jump down a well and get eaten by redeads.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Skyward Sword is the obvious standout. Second place is probably Twilight Princess thanks to the sword techniques and amazingly cool (although not particularly difficult) boss fights.
The original LOZ also bares mentioning, because although it's objectively the worst, it's also not quite fair to compare it to all the later games that basically go 'okay, that was good, now let's improve it in some little way for the next one!' Like, one has to respect the ability to set a trend that strong, right?
And, I suppose, in a similar vein I have to give credit to OoT for being the trendsetter for the 3d games.
finally i got the elegy of emptiness.
links statue is still..gah.
time for stone tower.
dat music <3
The Link statue reminds me a lot of the Happy Mask Salesman- That weird forced smile...
I sure said that!As for combat, I'm just really happy that we'll have a post-TP, post-SS Zelda game that we can play with a gamepad.
Agreed.
Does anyone think we might get a significant combat system change in the new game?
"You can't swallow what I'm thinking!!"Probably not, it'll most likely play like Wind Waker or GCN-Twilight Princess.
I suspect it'll be playable with either the Gamepad or Pro Controller.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!x5 You'll be fine, as long as you make sure to run if you get an uneasy feeling around any bodies of water.
On another note, what's the stupidest death you've ever had in a Zelda game?
moved to Oceanstuck because this handle was starting to bother me my tumblrI'm anticipating that it'll at least go as in-depth with combat as Twilight Princess, perhaps deeper.
I can't imagine the handling will be tremendously different from the GCN games.
I sure said that!I think they can incorporate a few facets of Skyward Sword's combat into a button+stick interface. Here's what I have in mind:
- Down+B: vertical slash
- Up+B: stab (like it's always been)
- Side+B: horizontal slash
- Target+A: jump attack (like it's always been)
From this, the enemies can block in a system similar to Wii Sports Resort. When they hold their weapons high and horizontal, they can't be vertical slashed. When they hold their weapons vertically, they can't be horizontal slashed. When they hold their weapons low and horizontal, they can't be stabbed.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.Sounds like Mount and Blade's combat system. It is an effective one, that game's fun as Hell til you get bored of nothing but combat and minimal Kingdom management,
eh, i think mount and blades on-foot battle system is a little..eeeh.
perfect on horseback but on foot...its missing a little something.
It's supposed to, I think. The idea is that you stay mounted and don't lose your horse. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. You're really supposed to be a general, and as soon as you have an army of some kind you're intended more to lead them rather than go out Ramboing.
hmm...
yeah, after 10 minutes in a fishing hole in majoras mask
ive decided never to do it ever again.
that was awful.
Yeah, I couldn't really get into the fishing either. Not my cup of tea.
...and it's even worse in this game, where I could be doing something productive.
Yeah, something like fishing doesn't really work when you're on a strict time limit.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Well, strict being rather relative. I mean, it's not you'll be running out of resets.
But yeah, it really doesn't mesh well with the theme of the game, even if it doesn't affect the reality.

So I forgot to mention that I beat the Gerudo desert level yesterday In Hyrule Warriors as Link.
Whooped both Ghirahim and Zant as well. I thought I was in trouble when they attacks me together, but they were surprisingly easy.
And these were the real ones two, not fakes. I'm shocked.
So I guess it's time for the last big fight of the story mode. I'll need to start making time to play as other characters and level them up as well. I'll also need to learn how to combo better and use all the attacks well.
But that will come in time hopefully.
Man, I hate gaming backlogs.
One Strip! One Strip!Pretty much. Take Your Time is a somewhat bothersome trope in most games, but it's particularly glaring in Majora's Mask.
Well, Link is clearly aware that his time is effectively infinite provided he doesn't let it totally expire...
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.i have to admit, stone towers gimmick is kinda...
unsettling.
soo....
the boss changes...
- adolwa...went down so quickly and so easily its hard to see what changed, but i dont remember being able to use the deku mask in the original version. regardless, the fact that a deku scrub was instrumental in taking him down with no challenge is kind of pathetic.
- goht...went from being the most enjoyable boss in the game to being the worst, imo. mainly cuz it just drags on and on and on, and im not fond of the weakpoint either.
- gyorg...much more improved.
- twinmold...was pretty cool, but after the 5TH ROUND of the 2nd phase of the fight i had to wonder if im doing something wrong because that red one just never seems to die and takes forever to go down. combine this with limited magic (i miss the chance to accompany cremia) and those fucking baby molds... ive lost my patience with this boss fight.
overall, im not too impressed with the boss changes. the big deal breaker for me is goht which i just do not enjoy at all anymore.
Wait, Goht was changed? I literally did not notice any changes to him whatsoever, besides that Weakspot that pops up when you topple him.
For me, it's a tie between TP(because of all of the flashy moves you can get from the golden wolf sidequest) and SS(for the strategy required to take out enemies and bosses).
