He was pretty intimidating before he was a toothy Muppet.
I sure said that!I definitely agree. The ebony and steel skin, the flaming hair...
Are you implying the Midna was secretly Demon King Demise this whole time and the entirety of Twilight Princess was Link and Zelda playing into his hands?
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book! No, I'm implying that Demise and his army were the tribe that was banished to the Twilight Realm and eventually evolved into the Twili.
He's way too scaly to be a Twili, though.
Even his humanoid form is covered in those scales.
I sure said that!I thought Midna implied that the Twili were originally Hylians that gradually evolved into their current forms after being in the Twilight Realm for centuries.

That's why I said evolved. They likely wouldn't have much use for the scales in the Twilight Realm, so, over time, the species lost them and grew Tron Lines in their place.

honestly, demise just makes me think of Akuma from Street Fighter.
also, i think the imprisoned's design is fine outside of the fluffly toes. though the weird veins on them are kinda creepy.
i like the imprisoned one's halo.
Honestly, the Imprisoned is kinda goofy-looking at first with just the pillow toes and oversized mouth, and then he grows ridiculously huge arms in time for The Imprisoned Strikes Back.
The flight-enabling death halo from Return of The Imprisoned is pretty neat, though.

I sure said that!x7 The correct answer to my question was "Yes" or some variation thereof.

I didn't mind Demise or the Imprisoned, but I preferred Ghirahim. He was more involved within the events of the game.
135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300Well, yeah. Ghirahim is the main antagonist narratively speaking. Demise is more of a Bigger Bad.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Yeah, Ghirahim was definitely the main villain of SS overall, but Demise was alluded to many times regardless- He's no Giant Space Flea from Nowhere.
I sure said that!Thing about the Imprisoned is that it is intimidating, the first time you see it, in Link's nightmare, as a cavernous maw rising from the darkness.
And then you see it in person, and it's a cavernous maw rising from the darkness... terminating in stubby legs with bulbous toes. Kinda spoils the whole look.
I have a message from another time...To be fair, that form is kinda Clipped-Wing Angel.
It's basically just the form he's been stuffed into without his true power. You're not supposed to fear him, you're supposed to fear what he would do if he got to the temple (even before the reveal of what's really there) since that implies he gets his groove back and goes back to fucking shit up like a final boss.
Or at least that's my theory.

One Strip! One Strip!Okay, but can the giant shadowy beast that we're trying to prevent from approaching the tower and devouring everything look not quite so goofy? Even if we're not supposed to fear it as much as a fully-formed Demise, I don't think the intended reaction was giggling at its water-balloon toes.
I have a message from another time...the game never really emphasizes a "yes thats what he looks like now, but whats he gonna look like when he reaches the temple?!" angle.
when we're fighting off the imprisoned its purely to prevent a game over, rather than any kind of intimidation caused by his appearance or the presumption of what he might look like unsealed.
also generally speaking, when i think of something being sealed i dont generally think of their entire appearance changing. especially not up and in an entirely different direction. that always weirded me out about demise. his sealed form and his unsealed form have almost no connection.

I'm thinking he crossed backwards over the Bishōnen Line when he was sealed, so The Imprisoned is nothing but his demonic power issuing from cracks in the seal, and without his intelligence behind it. So instead of resolving into a human-shaped body with tons of focused power, it expands into a massive beast single-mindedly chasing the power of the goddess.
I have a message from another time...I'm gonna think out loud for a minute here, about the timeline and how it's needlessly complicated and a possible way to fix it. I was thinking, is there a way to simplify things while keeping all the games as canon and still be flexible enough to allow for an infinite number of new games to fit into the timeline without hassle. I think I have most of a solution.
First, we take "point X," which occurs sometime after the events of Skyward Sword. Then there's a war for the Triforce, the Triforce being sealed away, the rise of Ganon(dorf), the seven sages, the awakening of the Master Sword, Ganon being sealed away then returning a time or two. Then at the end we return all the way back to point X and the cycle repeats itself over again, but thing are a little different. Things like the membership of the sevens sages might change, or the finer details of Ganon(dorf)'s origin. And then at the end something happens and we return back to point X. This can happen over and over again turning Hyrule into one big Eternal Recurrence until that one time Link fails to appear and Ganon takes over Hyrule leading to the flooding, as described in the back-story of Wind Waker. With this system we can fit in as many games as we want and the fact that events repeat themselves over and over again are an asset instead of a hindrance to any timeline theories.
The two things that this theory is missing are; 1) What happens at the end of every timeline that would cause time to reset to point X? and 2) What is the significance of point X that would make it the reset point for all the cosmic retconning?
I think the timeline is perfectly fine the way it is. Your idea is closer to the "Every game is just a retelling of the same story" theory which I never liked.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!yeah, man, i hate that theory.
eventful history > VERY LITTLE OF THIS EVER HAPPENED but whoever let that get in the way of a good story/its the same story i just told you, but better/worse

I actually really like Demise, to be honest. I feel like i've said this before, but for the short time we got to see him, he made a really big impression. it's unfortunate that we might never see him again.
