Set in the same multiverse, though a distinct universe within it, as the other games in Lizard of Aus's steadily-growing collection of roleplays, myself and my co-GM Bored Man bring you...To The Stars! A sci-fi crossover RP that lets players merge their favorite sci-fi settings with a few homebrewed ideas of our own...and maybe one or two I'm adding in for a bit of flavor. The timeline and exact structure of this setting will be determined by players' contributions through the characters they choose to play. Players will portray a group of ragtag teammates sharing a spaceship as they travel between different planets and star systems, solving problems, getting into mortal peril on a weekly basis and maybe, just maybe, getting to be the Big Damn Heroes along the way.

If you've watched Firefly or played Borderlands 3, you get the idea. If you're interested but don't have a sci-fi character to play, that's absolutely fine! Pick a character you want and we can mesh them into the sci-fi aesthetic. Want to play the Dragonborn getting picked up by the crew as they chase a space criminal to Nirn? Sure, we can make that work. Space-lawyer Phoenix Wright? Absolutely doable. If you can't figure out how to make them fit into the existing setting, that's still okay - wormholes, time travel, parallel timelines, it's sci-fi, there's always an explanation!

In terms of ground rules, I'm establishing a few to get us started:

  • Power Levels: Most of the action will be taking place planetside or in the corridors of various ships, stations and facilities. While Goku could work if someone really wanted, you also shouldn't make it so your character can realistically punch out every single problem the crew faces and make the others irrelevant.
  • Multiple Player Characters: If you plan on playing multiple characters, it is advisable that they be part of a group and a limited number at that. The entire roster of the Avengers would be a bit excessive, but Batman and Robin would work perfectly fine.
  • Player Etiquette: While in the game, refrain from godmodding, auto-hitting, or bringing in meta-knowledge your characters wouldn't know, without consulting me or your fellow players first.
  • Chatroom Etiquette: When in the discord server, conversing with your fellow players, be mindful of sensitive issues and the comfort of the community. If talking turns to bickering, step away from the computer/phone/smart fridge to cool off. If you've got something intense and day-ruining on your mind, then the Venting Box is your friend. If you're talking about something that others find painful or disturbing, then no matter how fascinating you find it, Stop Means Stop. If I don't come down hard on you about it, I guarantee that veteran players will, so please, be considerate of others.

The lore of this setting is to be filled out as players join and contribute more to this shared universe, so with that out of the way, I'll drop the signup template and the character introduction hook to get us started.

    The Story So Far...

On the planet Centerra, a habitable world in the Stella star system, there is a tradition shared among most of its population. When a Centerran comes of age, they must go on a personal journey to truly pass into adulthood. Sent off from the world's floating cities with little resources of their own, they must acquire a ship, bring it to one of several holy sites down on the planet's largely-untamed surface, and ascend past the planet's atmosphere. There, they will hope to receive some form of message or sign from the Centerrans' patron deity - their sun. A prominent Centerran politician fears for both his son's safety and his own reputation as the time for his own offspring's pilgrimage quickly approaches. To that end, he has sent out a public request for heroes, veterans and spacefarers of all kinds to come to Centerra and escort his son on his quest - for a reward, of course.

At the same time, the Galactic Federation has made recent attempts to increase their presence in the system. A noted increase in criminal activity has sparked the Federation's interest in the formerly-unnoteworthy system of Stella, however a high concentration of a mysterious energy is interfering with their usual, more long-range means of tracking criminals. Shorter-range methods are needed, and without the manpower to launch a concentrated surveillance effort in the system, the Federation turns to third parties. Bounty hunters, mercenaries, anyone with a gun and morality even slightly upwards of "gray" are all contenders for the Federation's latest attempts to police this region...and find out why criminals are suddenly so interested in it...

  • Name: USS Enterprise NCC-1701
  • Alias: Enty, Ash, Code G, Key Point G, Big E, Lucky E, The Grey Ghost, The Galloping Ghost, etc.
  • Franchise: Azur Lane, with Star Trek flavor
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: At Least Centuries
  • Species: KAN-SEN
  • Appearance: "The stars are mesmerizing tonight."
  • Alignment: Paragon
  • Job: Former Federation Starfleet Officer (Retired), Currently Porter of Miscellaneous People And Goods
  • Personality: A relatively introverted woman with incredibly strong morals, sense of responsibility, and determination, Enty was once laser-focused on work, battle, and training to the exclusion of all else, though more recently she has learned to lighten up and be kinder to herself while still being a rather serious person. For example, she enjoys delivering gifts to all her friends and allies on Christmas, but will insist that she is "Santa Claus" in the process and not answer to any other name for the rest of the day. Even if she doesn't look it, she is a big fan of old-school Sci-Fi in general. She is also very proud of her various accomplishments, and quite self-confident, though not to the point of arrogance, staying grounded and analytical regardless of the situation. Although haunted by the ghost of war and created for the purpose of fighting, she nonetheless strives toward a day when her universe will be at peace and she can live as an ordinary woman alongside her family and friends - while still having adventures and going where no woman has gone before, of course!
  • Powers and Abilities: Enty is a KAN-SEN, a woman superficially resembling a human created by fusing a Wisdom Cube with the hull of a warship. KAN-SEN do not age under normal circumstances, and are partly organic and partly mechanical; if injured, they bleed and recover from wounds the same way as a human, but they are capable of sending and receiving radio and other wireless signals signals using their brains, absorbing things like electricity or pure alcohol or barrel-fulls of oil with no ill effect - in fact, they can survive on oil alone - and some other capabilities that will be detailed below.
    • All KAN-SEN are at least mildly superhuman physically. In Enty's case, she is able to easily make large vertical leaps a few stories up and has an incredibly good sense of balance. Furthermore, as the incarnation of a starship, she can easily survive in the vacuum of space as well as undergo atmospheric re-entry without protection.
    • Many KAN-SEN are also superhuman mentally. In Enty's case, she is able to process many parallel lines of thought and perception at once, effectively allowing her to handle the full faculties of her full starship self as well as handle multiple conversations in multiple locations at once when required. While her full ship form is summoned and not in Rigging mode (see below), she can be sustained by energy siphoned from the reactor core, meaning that she does not need to eat, drink, or sleep, though she often does due to force of habit.
    • All KAN-SEN are capable of mild hydrokinesis, such that they can selectively repel water from themselves, used for such purposes as 'skating' on top of bodies of water at high speed, propelling themselves and increasing their swim speed while submerged in water, or simply drying off when wet.
    • All KAN-SEN have equipment known as "Rigging", a miniature version of themselves as a ship that is inherent to their being and can be controlled telekinetically within a short distance of themselves, as well as summoned from or dismissed into subspace at will. Naturally, they are inherently adept at using their Rigging's abilities and weaponry. When damaged, Riggings cannot be repaired except with the proper tools, know-how, and materials, all of which Enty lacks.
      • Riggings can also be transformed into full-scale versions of the associated ship and vice-versa, with the KAN-SEN having full, fine control of all of its systems as long as she remains in a location with enough signal strength to connect to the ship. As she is the ship itself, she is also able to monitor all activity aboard via the built-in security system and sensor suites, as well as manifest a hardlight holographic avatar of herself anywhere on the ship that she pleases, but again, only when she is within range and can connect. The full-scale ship is also equipped with military-grade phaser weapons, photon torpedoes, and deflector shields, is able to reach escape velocity on most planets, and can make use of a Warp Drive to move across the universe at speeds that are significantly faster than light.
      • Enty, being the physical manifestation of a Constitution-class starship, is able to summon a miniature version of said ship as her Rigging, as well as manifest and fire from it phaser cannons and photon torpedoes, though they are miniaturized and lesser in strength than they are at the ship's true size. While the Rigging is attached, she also has deflector shields that cover both the Rigging and herself, though they can be overcome with the right type or frequency of weapon, or simply overloaded with enough sustained blasts/blows. Additionally, she can use the Rigging's engines to propel herself at speeds ranging from mild to extreme, including to the point of being able to reach escape velocity on most planets, though she cannot easily turn while moving at such high speeds. The Rigging's energy and ammunition reserves can be automatically replenished over time, but doing so drains some of Enty's stamina, so she cannot use them indefinitely. Any damage to the Rigging is reflected on the full starship form, and vice-versa.
    • Finally - in case the tone of the RP shifts and it becomes relevant - when undergoing extreme emotional trauma, all KAN-SEN have the ability to undergo a phenomenon known as "Metamorphosis" or "Origination", the latter named such because it involves their "Wisdom Cube" reverting to an "Origin Cube". KAN-SEN who have undergone Metamorphosis are known as METAs, and such KAN-SEN's Riggings and bodies change to become more edgy and futuristic and obtain greater destructive potential. For example, Enty would develop futuristic, starfighter-like drone crafts with appropriate armaments, and would be able to, through sheer force of will, deploy a pocket dimension that can trap others inside along with her until she is defeated or dismisses it. I am entirely open to working out the details of said pocket dimension usage with the GM before posting about it in the RP thread.
    • Enty's various other skills are mainly related to warfighting and leadership of naval fleets, though she is quite intelligent and her superiors at least have seen to it that she at least got a good, college education, majoring in naval history, and she has gone back to school a number of times to keep updated on the navies of the present day. That said, she also has picked up life skills along the lines of cooking or cleaning over the years, obsolete though the former may be in an age of food replicators. She has some musical talent as a vocalist, though she doesn't display it often. She also knows how to pilot a wide variety of XXst Century vehicles, and knows how to properly care for her pet eagle.
  • Weapons and Equipment:
    • Rigging: Detailed in Powers and Abilities.
    • Her XXst Century comms device/smartphone equivalent.
    • A Type-2 Phaser used by Federation forces, which is a hand-held ray pistol that has several possible settings for its output, such as "stun", "heat", and "kill". Since she prefers not to kill unless the opponent is a wild animal, she typically has it set to "stun" unless otherwise stipulated.
  • Assets:
    • Generous military pension from the Federation Starfleet, as well as earnings from her work as a transport vessel.
    • Not really an asset so much as a living companion, her latest pet bald eagle, Grim Reaper, distantly descended from the original whom she inherited from her older sister, Yorktown. He is carnivorous and quite smart for an eagle, though sometimes a bit bird-brained.
  • Background: A KAN-SEN created by fusing the fantastical technology known as a "Wisdom Cube" with the hull of the original USS Enterprise CV-6, Enty was born in pre-spacefaring days in her native nation of The Oceanic Federation to fight back against a mysterious faction of aliens known as "X", towering eldritch horrors who sought to warp and reshape the planet in their own twisted image. She fought against them as part of an international alliance of a number of the world's navies with great success, until one day the disagreement between factions of humanity's alliance over whether to manipulate the timeline to defeat X turned into a proper schism when the Anti-X automatons, later known as Sirens, abandoned their allies during a crucial battle during which many KAN-SEN were wiped out alongside the KAN-SEN's original creator, Dr. Anzeel. Anti-X then formed their own axis of power and declared war on the rest of their former allies. From there, a convoluted conflict played out across many, many possible timelines, with Enty, who had undergone Metamorphosis, gathering Metamorphosed, sole survivor KAN-SEN from across the countless possible timelines and forming an organization of META KAN-SEN to oppose Anti-X's plans.

Blaming the casualties - especially that of her Creator and mother figure - on her own, self-perceived weakness, Enty retreated into a shell and pushed everyone else away, and even tried to eschew anything that would make her seem more like a human rather than a simple humanoid weapon honed to destroy the enemy. Eventually, she came across the Azur Lane naval alliance's most prominent Commander and her alternate self. Decrying the both of them as frauds and mere pawns of Anti-X, she left an ally to handle the task of stalling them while she planted a time-space beacon within the center of the Bermuda Triangle. This gambit of hers having been a success, she then had the means to interfere directly in the timeline that had been hidden away from all others by Anti-X, concluding that the reason they had hidden it was that it was where she would find Anti-X's leadership. At some point, she reconciled with the Commander and her other self, gained special Rigging that reversed her Metamorphosis, and ultimately forgave the Anti-X, joining forces with them to drive off the alien menace once and for all.

Since that time, Enty has undergone numerous upgrades to her Rigging over the centuries, by the time of the XXst Century becoming a spacefaring battleship rather than a carrier ship. Now much more positive and upbeat than before, but still occasionally haunted by dreams of her past, she traveled from planet to planet as a representative of the Galactic Federation's Starfleet, aiming to foster interplanetary cooperation, until she retired from that job and began offering her services as an armed transport ship. And so, she finds herself on Centerra, relaxing between transport runs at a streetside cafe. There's just one problem...
  • Additional Notes: Aside from the traditional Star Trek music, Enty also has several different pieces of theme music from Azur Lane, which I might make use of at some point (there are a lot of bangers on the AL soundtrack).

  • Name: Seras Victoria
  • Alias: Draculina
  • Franchise: Hellsing
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: Several centuries. Standard physical appearance is mid-twenties.
  • Species: Formerly-Human Vampire
  • Appearance: A buxom blonde woman in military uniform. Stands 5'5". Her left arm appears normal, but turns shadowy when she exerts herself.
  • Alignment: Heroic Renegade
  • Job: Primarily a heavy-hitter, working as both security and scout as needed
  • Personality: A calm and kind person, her heart still soft despite centuries of battle. While trained as a soldier and willing to kill, Seras dislikes taking lives and will avoid doing so without particularly good cause. Bloodshed has left her somewhat jaded, and when she does judge someone truly irredeemable, she has no qualms about tearing them apart. But fundamentally, she still believes that people are good, and very few are vile enough to push her to that point (most villains are tame next to Nazi Vampires). She's generally approachable, and age has made her adept at understanding people and how to help them. She views herself as a monster in service of humanity, and will protect the innocent if they're in danger.
  • Powers and Abilities:
    • Nosferatu: An old and powerful vampire sired by Dracula himself. Inhumanly strong and nimble, ageless, immune to disease and decay, and able to regenerate from nearly anything so long as she is fed enough blood. Her senses are far keener than a human, and she has supernatural perception that can see through illusions. She requires no air or water, and can operate on minimal sleep, though even she must eventually rest.
    • Shadow Form: Her body is a malleable darkness she can mold to her whims. Be it changing her appearance, turning into mist or bats, or forming it into weapons to rend her opponents. She may phase through walls at her leisure, become light enough to glide through the air, and reduce herself to a pool of blackness to avoid attacks. She can even unleash it as a projectile attack, replicating the effects of firearms, though any part of her separated from her main mass expends energy to regrow.
    • Stolen Lives: Blood is the currency of the soul. To consume another's blood is to take their life into yourself. Upon consuming enough blood from someone to kill them, Seras takes their soul for herself. Seras contains the souls of a number of people and creatures. She can expend her excess souls to heal herself in absence of blood, making her hard to put down, though not impossible.
    • Familiars: Seras can selectively release the souls within her as minions under her control, though she prefers to think of them as companion. Familiars retain skills and abilities they had in life, and can fashion weapons from Seras's shadows to suit their needs. She is permanently bound to them regardless of distance, and as such she can borrow their senses and use them for scouting. As she tends to avoid taking the souls of sapient beings, most of the souls within her are different kinds of animals, earthly and otherwise. Closest to her heart is Pip Bernadotte, her lover, who sticks by her side. The remainder of her souls remain in slumber, to be called upon when needed.
    • Captain Pip: Her oldest familiar, who gave his blood freely. A surly fellow who has been by Seras's side throughout these long years, and will remain so until they both perish together. He has no abilities beyond a normal human, but having served alongside Seras, he, like her, has centuries of combat experience. And a sharp wit.
    • Control Art Restriction System: A mystical seal devised by Abraham Van Hellsing, which contains Seras's dark power. Originally it was meant to bind her to the Hellsing family so they might control her; when she earned her freedom from them, she retained it as a way to keep her menacing aura in check. One may hear her announce the release of her seals when utilizing more of her vampiric powers.
    • Vampiric Weaknesses: Silver and blessed weapons will burn her like fire, eating through more of her stored souls. Sunlight slightly reduces her strength, but given her age and power she can shrug off a bright day as a minor itch. Direct, focused UV light will slowly disintegrate her, and prevent her from regenerating while aimed at her. Those with the know-how can consecrate holy ground to create a barrier she cannot cross. Decapitation and piercing her heart are harder for her to regenerate, but not instantly fatal.
    • Experience: Being centuries old, Seras has walked through many battlefields. She is proficient with most weapons one can find, a crack shot even without factoring in her inhuman eyes, and can readily take a squad apart in hand to hand. She's highly knowledgeable about military matters, and the occult. Her specialty, of course, being knowledge on how to kill the various monsters of the universe.
  • Equipment: While skilled with many weapons, her preferred armament is the Harkonnen, an oversized kinetic weapon that fires heavy shells, with both armor piercing and incendiary ammunition. It is entirely too large for a normal human to use, but she can fire it accurately with one hand.
  • Assets: Her only item of note is her coffin, disguised as a sleek portable sleeping pod. Filled with soil from her birthplace on Earth, it serves to rejuvenate her even in absence of blood, though not to the same extent as a good meal. It has a refrigerated compartment in which to store blood packs.
  • Background:
    • Ages ago, a young girl was orphaned by home invaders. When she became a woman, she joined the police force, wanting to ensure no child suffered as she did. Not long after joining, she encountered something worse than any burglar. An undead monster, who had turned a village into walking corpses. A vampire. That night, she died. But a bigger monster killed the smaller one, and as she lay in a pool of her own blood, the smiling demon offered her a chance to live.
    • She took it. Becoming an immortal creature of night, Seras was conscripted by Hellsing, an organization founded by the famous vampire hunter to keep mankind safe from monsters. Unlike other such groups, Hellsing bound the very monsters it fought and used them as weapons; Dracula himself being their trump card, and the one who had turned Seras.
    • It was, unfortunately, a terrible year to join up; the last bastion of the Third Reich, turned into artificial vampires, waged a war on England, culminating in a terrorist attack that destroyed London and killed over three million people.
    • Despite the tragedy and ruin, Hellsing was victorious. And for a long time, there was peace. As technology advanced, monsters were forced into hiding, lest humanity hunt them down and completely exterminate them. After a century or two, it became clear that Hellsing's vampiric soldiers were no longer needed. She and her sire were released from their binds, free to roam the world for the rest of their eternal unlives.
    • Seras vanished into history, keeping to herself but for the rare monster she needed to kill, and watching with interest as humans aimed for the stars. It was only natural, really, that she'd want to join them up there. As humans colonized other worlds, Seras lurked in the darkness, traveling from planet to planet. Over the years she's served in various mercenary companies and security forces, working under different names and different faces. On other worlds, she found other monsters, and in hushed whispers they began to speak of her as a Queen. An ancient Queen of Unlife.
    • Most, of course, were unaware of this. Mortals simply knew her as a woman with strange and powerful abilities and a kind heart, who went around protecting people and trying to calm conflicts. It wasn't surprising, then, that she'd take a job to help someone. In her case, no reward is needed. Protecting someone is reward enough.
  • Additional Notes:
    • Theme Song
    • It can be safely assumed that anyone with supernatural senses will feel Seras coming from a mile away.
    • Seras cannot eat normal food; only blood and raw meat.

  • Name: Aquarius
  • Alias: Has gone through a truly ridiculous amount of identities in his lifetime, but for simplicity's sake, we shall use his real name.
  • Franchise: Zodiac
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: Two-thousand years, give or take.
  • Species: A descended star, a piece of the cosmos given semi-mortal form.
  • Appearance: Pale-skinned and petite (man's only 5'2), looks like he's eighteen despite being much, much older than that. Has very long silver hair that he always wears in a ponytail, aqua robes, and sunset-pink eyes. He can change his appearance with the Talisman, though his current look is nigh-identical to his true form, which gently shines with the light of a star...but looks so, so tired, and so weary.
  • Alignment: Anti-Renegade; well-intentioned, but near the end of his rope and growing desperate.
  • Job: Astrologer
  • Personality: There are several layers to Aquarius's personality. The one he projects to public view is that of quiet serenity, of someone who knows exactly what to say and exactly when to say it, or someone who is poised and presentable and perfectly fine. This cracks pretty easily, and the second layer is closest to how he originally was: socially awkward, more than a little snarky, possessed of very strange trains of thought, and with a marked tendency towards recklessness and terrible plans, but good-hearted deep down and an avid learner. The last layer is one he never shows if he can help it: a numb, perpetually exhausted mess who can barely bring himself to get out of bed in the morning, consumed by guilt over everything he's wrought and grief over everything he's lost, living a very lonely existence. Deep down, Aquarius is worn down, burnt out, and probably depressed—and his growing desperation to save the galaxy might well be the only thing keeping him going.
  • Powers and Abilities:
    • Psynergy: Psynergy is the magic that makes star-reading possible. It's a combination of your psychic energy—which determines your ability to do things like read the stars and access the Psy Network, or the Collective Consciousness—and your astrological fingerprint, a snapshot of space at the moment you were born. Using an Ephemeris—which is basically an extrasensory antenna for picking up Psynergy, that projects a holographic map of the star system—one can channel Psynergy to get a read on the future.
  • Weapons and Equipment:
    • The Talisman: When the Original Guardians fell to mortality, they all brought one thing with them: a Talisman, each of which holds the knowledge of an aspect of humanity, a particular universal truth. The one Aquarius has now...is not his. It's Ophiuchus's, which he stole a long while back (long story). The Talisman serves two functions:
      • The first is that, because it's basically made of Psynergy, it works as an Ephemeris, and thus can do what Ephemeri do. In the past, this would've been exceptionally easy for someone who had once been part of the night sky himself, but severe emotional turmoil means Aquarius needs the Talisman in order to Center at all.
      • The second, and more important, is that the Talisman is a super-powered Psynergy source; whenever its bearer dies, the Talisman generates a new body for them, effectively granting Resurrective Immortality.
  • Assets:
    • Philosopher's Stone: A pendant worn around the neck. Basically a cell phone, but with holograms.
  • Background:
    • Two thousand years ago, humans arrived at the Zodiac System, a strange star system made up of one sun—Helios—and twelve constellations, each comprising various amounts of planets and moons. It is said that, when Helios first foresaw the humans' arrival, each constellation gave up its Guardian Star, and the twelvenote  stars fell to earth and became mortal.
    • But according to legend (and conspiracy groups), there was a thirteenth starnote : Ophiuchus the Serpent Bearer. The story says that, when the Original Guardians fell to earth, he was the only one who resented his new, lower place, and when he discovered the fall had cost the Guardians their immortality, set about trying to get it back. He betrayed the others in the process, and they banished him far from the star system. Soon, all traces of his existence disappeared, surviving only in morality tales and fables from the Twelve Houses.
    • The truth is that only the first and last sentences of that previous paragraph were accurate. Ophiuchus existed back then, but he'd never resented his place; in fact, he'd been one of the most compassionate stars back then. Heck, as mentioned above, he was actually meant to be the only star living among humans, long after the others had perished. Said others found out, and they got upset that Ophiuchus would remain on the mortal plane, while they would perish and return to the stars, and insisted he find some way to share his immortality with them. Unfortunately, when he got home, the Talisman was gone. Double unfortunately, when he reported its theft, the other Guardians accused him of hiding it to keep the immortality for himself, charged him with treason, and sentenced him to execution.
    • Did we mention it got worse? Because it got worse. This treachery brought a horrible thing into the galaxy—Dark Matter, a black, tarlike substance that proceeded to destroy House Ophiuchus. From there came the Last Prophecy: in three thousand years, all the stars will go out, and Dark Matter will consume the galaxy. Apparent graduates of the 'if we pretend we can't see it it'll go away' school of thinking, the Original Guardians erased all traces of a thirteenth House from records. They lived for a five hundred years each, but the Talisman was never found.
    • Aquarius knows all of this because...it was him. He stole the Talisman. He'd only intended to look it over himself, in an extremely poorly-thought out plan to help, but that went so horribly wrong it can safely be classified as a fiasco. He was the first to see the Last Prophecy, and lives with the knowledge that everything it's predicting is his fault. Guilt, grief, and desperation drive him to try and fix things best he can, either by preventing the prophecy altogether or at least ensuring at least some will survive the end of the galaxy.
    • So it's been two thousand years since then and he's made no progress. Sure, he's got a thousand years left, but that still doesn't feel like enough time. Aqua refuses to give up, though, and figures if he can't find the solution here, he might be able to find it in another corner of the galaxy. So he's taking a starship to wherever, hoping to find answers before the situation spirals completely out of control...
  • Additional Notes:
    • Okay admittedly a lot of this is pretty headcanon-y. But the basics are canon.
    • The Last Prophecy has since spread across the galaxy; few believe in it except hardcore conspiracy theorists, but more than a few know about it.

  • Name: Cibo
  • Franchise: BLAME!
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: 2,000+ (minimum)
  • Species: Humannote
  • Appearance: [1] [2] Stands at roughly 7'2" tall. All seemingly organic components are in fact synthetic mimicry. Appearance may shift depending on her currently-inhabited body.
  • Alignment: Paragon-ish. Good by nature, but her methods are sometimes questionable.
  • Job: Computer scientist, mechanic, general smartypants. Technically-inclined, good with machines given her nature yet also quick to catch onto broader scientific principles as they become relevant.
  • Personality: For an ancient being who has been isolated in a decaying near-corpse for the past 2,000 years or so, Cibo is surprisingly contemporary and amiable, even coming across as juvenile at times in her interactions with others. Despite some perhaps questioning her nature as a true 'human,' Cibo retains her humanity without issue, though she may occasionally come across as aloof and secretive if she's planning something in particular—sometimes deliberately playing up the 'distant robot' persona if it suits her. When faced with a serious situation, Cibo locks in and becomes focused and efficient, keeping small-talk to a minimum and letting her actions speak for themselves. Though by no means shy, Cibo's lack of human interaction over the past few aeons has diminished her social skills somewhat, even if her enthusiasm remains—she has been desensitised to horrors others would be traumatised by, and barely questions her nature as an arguably disembodied consciousness who changes bodies as easily as others would clothes.
  • Powers and Abilities: As a transhuman consciousness in a robotic body, Cibo possesses a variety of inhuman abilities that assist her on her ventures; some obscure and some as plain as can be. Some miscellaneous oddities include her lack of need for air, food, or drink, though she can sleep and regularly does so in order to let her mind recover from the abnormal strain she puts her body through. She is physically strong enough to bend metal and punch through reinforced walls, leap dozens of metres through the air in a single bound, and dart around at speeds enough to avoid gunfire. Her main shortcoming is her durability, however, as she is comparatively easy to damage and has to repair herself often after battles. However, Cibo has a penchant for moving her central processor's location in her body each time she inhabits a new one, meaning that a headshot or even a shot to the chest might not bring her down immediately.note
    • Sensing: Cibo is able to locate both biological and technological life from a moderate distance, through a combination of EMF-detection and heat vision along with a light dose of a telescopic keen eye. This allows her to keep attentive even when things seem relatively still, as being caught by surprise would be a surefire way to die horribly back in the City.
    • Technopathy: Cibo is able to remotely connect to any nearby digital network, either by forging a legitimate network handshake or forcibly hacking past security systems in order to gain access. Once she's in a system and considered part of a network, she can request functions using her mind alone—as such, she can take over machinery so long as there isn't another intelligent consciousness controlling it, and control it remotely if she stays within range. A mechanical device with no digital network cannot be affected as easily, but if it has an independent system she can still control it if she is able to plug into it physically, though this way is more cumbersome.
    • Body Transfer: Due to the constant risk of dying (and the fact that she has done so many times before), Cibo has a method of circumventing death by means of uploading her digital consciousness into new mechanical bodies if her current one is about to be destroyed; as long as the new body is capable of properly housing a human consciousness within its computer systems. Because of this restriction, Cibo has constructed herself a modest amount of backup bodies for cases when she has no chance of surviving normally, and she will automatically transfer her consciousness into one of these bodies upon death so that she can reawaken seamlessly.
  • Weapons and Equipment: Cibo's weapons and equipment change depending on the body she currently inhabits, but she is constantly modifying herself to accommodate a multitude of useful weapons and gadgets so as to remain versatile. Such miscellaneous modifications include wrist-mounted grappling hooks, quick-deploying storm shelters, one-way force fields that she can project around herself and her nearby allies, rapid-fire ballistic weapons, parachutes, heaters (either for cooking or for warming her allies in the cold) and extension cables for situations when she has to manually plug into a network in order to interface with it. Given her scientific and mechanical background, she also carries a hefty toolkit that she always keeps at hand, allowing her to make quick repairs out on the field or jury-rig new inventions and fix equipment on short notice. Cibo has also taken to carrying first-aid equipment, just in case one of her organic comrades needs emergency attention.
  • Assets: Cibo has a modest amount of cash to her name to afford repair tools and equipment, an identification card with an image of her original human self along with her name and scientific credentials, and a rough map detailing the location of her backup bodies on Centerra along with the nearest spaceports to each. She has requested that some of her bodies be taken on the job as personal belongings, but even if this isn't fulfilled she has the means to create more if she has to.
  • Background:
    • Millennia ago in a distant sister-system to Sol, Cibo was the head scientist of the Bio-Electric Corporation, a company within the ever-expanding dystopian City that has thoroughly taken the sister-Earth it began on; to the point where the humans that now reside within it no longer remember what is outside it, and the star system itself has become an unscannable dead zone to any who scan it from afar. The City began as a project allowing humans to interface with the digital network known as the Netsphere, which could create anything that one could imagine using a digital template and mechanical Builders to fabricate it into reality. However, a mysterious virus began to spread without warning throughout the Netsphere during the initial expansion of the City, neutralising the crucial Net Terminal Gene that enabled people to interface with the network—in turn causing the Builders to malfunction and start expanding the City without limit due to poorly interpreting the digital templates without human input. Cibo's project within the Bio-Electric Corporation was to create an artificial replacement for the Net Terminal Gene, but she failed catastrophically; her experiment causing an explosion that not only destroyed the project but atomised her and the other workers in the immediate area, causing her to be reuploaded into a backup body that was then left to rot as punishment for her failure.
    • 2,000 years passed as Cibo was abandoned in this rotting body, unable to move in her prison beneath the rubble but still fully conscious and aware of her surroundings. Despite this crippling isolation, Cibo retained her humanity, mostly due to the fact that she existed within a life support module in her degrading body's chest, rather than her body itself. However, long after Cibo had abandoned all hope that she would ever be found, something that had never before occurred happened to the City—it received heavy structural damage from a huge rogue planetoid striking into its colossal hull from outside the star system, tearing through a large portion of the structure so viciously and swiftly that at first the Builders couldn't repair it in time. With some of this damage reaching Cibo's district, she took her chance in letting her data module disconnect from her body to fall through the damaged hull; making its way over the course of hours through the new gouge in the City's structure until it finally escaped into the vacuum of space.
    • Drifting aimlessly through the void, Cibo's data signature was now left unshielded by the thick metal layers of the City, and her desperate emergency signal was detected by a scavenger group who followed her coordinates and managed to locate and beam her life support module directly onto their ship. Frantically explaining her situation through the module (and reeling over the fact that she was finally talking to other people again), Cibo's consciousness was quickly taken back to a Federation planet by the scavengers, who helped her construct a rudimentary body out of scrap for her to inhabit while she got her bearings again. Slowly having acclimated herself to the new cross-planetary culture she found herself in, the wide-eyed and eager Cibo has spent the past few years upgrading her body and taking odd jobs in order to see and study as many planets as possible, still reeling from the shock of jettisoning herself from the eldritch infrastructure of the City into a place of true freedom. Now with the escort request from Centerra as the latest job she has involved herself with, Cibo's mind is split between her fate as a free person and her past as a gear in the broken machine that was the City; whether she should live her life independently of the prison she had only ever known for aeons, or eventually return to free its inhabitants of the torture of living within it.
  • Additional Notes:
    • Cibo's theme.
    • The Netsphere was born from what was originally the human Internet on the sister-Earth, but technology's drastic turn towards transhuman interfacing caused it to develop into something almost unrecognisable. The precise moment of divergence from this sister-Earth and the 'real' Earth isn't known by anyone still alive in the City, as billions of years have passed since anyone set foot on the planet itself.
    • Cibo's perception of time has been severely warped due to living in the City for so long, as the unchanging environment and vast structure caused hundreds or thousands of years to pass by in what feels like mere instants for its inhabitants. However, living on real planets and interacting with people who aren't as needless as Cibo has recontextualised time to her, and she has started living in the present moment much more.

Name: Alia

Franchise: Mega Man X

Gender: Female

Age: Unknown, but physically she appears to be a woman in her mid to late 20s

Species: Reploid (sapient robot with complete free will, able to think and feel just as humans can)

Appearance: Alia has blonde hair and blue eyes, and is often seen wearing red armor with pink and white accents.

Alignment: Good* (see Background)

Job: While primarily a Navigator, Alia has a storied history as a researcher and engineer, and is a master programmer able to read and work with any programming language presented to her.

Personality: Alia tries to put duty first when on the job and keep her personal feelings from interfering in her work, but when off the clock she is more prone to showing her emotional side, for better or for worse. While she tries to keep it under wraps so as to not bother anybody, Alia has a tendency to become melancholy or depressed if asked about her past, and so prefers to redirect the subject of conversation if possible.

Powers and Abilities: Beyond being physically stronger, faster and hardier than a human, Alia has abilities that further enhance her capabilities when she is in combat or otherwise out in the field.

  • Emergency Acceleration System: Alia is able to dash forward in a quick burst of speed, and through good timing on her uses of this function, she is able to go much faster than she would if she were simply walking or running. This dash is also able to be used even when she is in the air, though she must land on solid ground or otherwise find her footing again before she can dash once more.

  • Variable Weapons System: If Alia is able to get her hands on a weapon, she is able to modify her buster to mimic the weapon in question (for example, if she finds a flamethrower and gets the chance to copy it, her buster will shoot fire instead of energy pellets). The drawback for her is that she can only 'store' up to 8 copied weapons at a time, and will eventually have to erase the copied data.

  • Giga Crush: When Alia is in a pinch and has enough energy stored to use this technique, her body flashes and then expels all of the gathered energy at once, damaging anyone and anything around her. As this is not something she is able to actively aim, allies would be well advised to give her some space when they know she's going to resort to this.

  • Sigma Virus: If things are really going badly and Alia's stress levels start hitting their peak, she's left susceptible to the virus's power. While her power output experiences a dramatic boost, she's stuck in a state of hyper aggression and will do everything possible to kill her targets even if ordered otherwise. This state of aggression fades once the threat that triggered it is past, and she's left weaker than normal after the experience until she's had a chance to recover.

Weapons and Equipment:

  • Alia Buster: During combat, Alia is able to convert either of her arms into a firearm that shoots bullets comprised of compressed solar energy. If given the chance, she is able to charge up this buster to fire larger and stronger bullets, with her having a maximum capacity for three levels of charge (none, mid, and full). In addition, if she's able to charge for long enough, she can store a second charge shot so that she can fire one right after the other.

  • Alia Armor: Through long hours of study and reverse-engineering, Alia has managed to enhance her systems and armor beyond what they were initially designed for, enabling her to use her combat skills without burning herself out, though extended fights and extreme conditions will still prove to be hazardous for her. While this armor is able to endure most conditions, exposure to something like lava or magma would be ill-advised.

Assets: Alia doesn't tend to carry much on her beyond the bare essentials for whatever mission she is on at the time (such as a sizable amount of money and tools for working on machinery if required), but if she's staying somewhere for an extended period of time, she'll put mementos of her past life on display to remind herself of better days.

Background:

Like many Reploids, Alia can trace her origins back to Dr. Cain and the discovery of X, a robot from an age past that was unlike anything the world had ever seen. There was no programming to hold him back from doing whatever he desired, and he was able to think and feel as good as any human; such a thing was unheard of, and Dr. Cain made history by being able to replicate X's design and create new robots dubbed Reploids. While this was hailed as a new age of peace, things quickly soured as many Reploids proved why the tests X had undergone were necessary by harming humans and fellow Reploids alike. These misbehaving Reploids were labeled Mavericks, and the group created to combat them were dubbed the Maverick Hunters. Even this wasn't enough to keep the peace, as soon the leader of the Maverick Hunters would go Maverick himself, triggering a decades-long conflict between Reploids of opposing ideals.

In the middle of all of this, Alia was simply doing her best as a researcher alongside her partner Gate, but after being drawn into a conspiracy by her superior to sabotage Gate and his work and seeing her friendship with him dissolve as a result, Alia left the team and joined the Maverick Hunters to distance herself from the business she had come to regret being a part of. Tragedy continued to follow her, however, as it was shortly after she joined the Maverick Hunters when the Earth Crisis happened. The space colony Eurasia had been compromised by enemy forces and was on a collision course with the Earth, and despite a successful operation to destroy it, the damage from the explosion and raining debris was enough that it forced humanity to move underground after the surface proved to be inhospitable for the time being.

Not even a month later, the return of Gate and his subsequent termination by the Maverick Hunters had left Aila feeling like she was fighting a losing battle, and after The Incident (see below), it wasn't long before Alia began questioning her role with the Maverick Hunters and her purpose in general. She would stay on to assist the Maverick Hunters for a while longer, but ultimately she departed and left the planet behind, opting to find a new purpose for herself and hoping to find a way to manage her... condition.

  • The Incident:

In the days of the Nightmare Phenomenon, where Gate had returned and was threatening the world that had just been devastated, a common sentiment among humans and Reploids alike was that the Maverick Hunters were inefficient and obsolete, leaving many grieving humans and Reploids alike to openly disparage them. Regrettably for Alia, she was one of the more public and easily accessible members of the group, and while she could handle the many days of harassment and taunts, it hadn't stopped there. A physical altercation had occurred between her and another Reploid, and despite her protests, it was decided that the best thing to be done was to ignore it so as to not make things worse for themselves.

That attack had not been a coincidence. She hadn't known it at the time, but the blow that Alia had suffered had allowed the culprit the chance to infect her with a short-term offensive program that saw her virus protection compromised, which meant that when she went to work on studying the Sigma Virus (formerly known as the Maverick Virus) in hopes of finally making a breakthrough with Sigma himself gone, it managed to infect the Reploid without her knowledge. With Alia infected and the virus allowed to take root within her undetected, her good judgement became sloppier and her ability to control her emotions began slipping, which would prove to be very unfortunate indeed considering what happened next.

It was only a matter of time before the situation reached a boiling point. And eventually, tragically, it did. What happened that day was never officially reported, but years afterward, Alia could still remember that one minute she was more stressed out than she'd ever been as she'd been chased and cornered by a group of particularly loud and violent individuals...and the next minute, she was waking up in an alleyway with no recollection of what had happened, the sound of laughter ringing in her ears as her buster vented off quite a bit of heat.

Additional Notes: As a Reploid, Alia does not require food or drink, but she does require maintenance for her body to keep it running as it should, and while she is able to handle some of the repairs and upkeep herself, more often than not she will require the assistance of whoever is qualified or available.

  • Name: Giegue

  • Franchise: Mother

  • Gender: Male (at least, according to human standards)

  • Age: Unknown, at least more than 80 human years old.

  • Species: Unknown alien race

  • Appearance: Giegue appears as a tall, white alien, with a frail body and a very long tail. (Picture taken from the fangame Mother: Cognitive Dissonance. Giegue doesn't have an official art).

  • Alignment: Unstable renegade

  • Job: Former high-ranking general/conqueror. Also has some scientific knowledge.

  • Personality: At first glance, Giegue appears as a cold and ruthless alien, who values logic and efficiency above emotions like love and compassion. He doesn't hesitate to brainwash, torture, or kill to get what he wants. He also holds most other races in contempt and hates humans, especially those that would happen to come from Earth, comparing them to bugs. With that said, Giegue has a curious and outright scientific side, as he enjoys studying and reading (though he isn't above experimenting on live subjects if needed). He also can feel human emotions, and he loved a lot his human mother, Maria. But it was that same love that caused him to suffer a complete meltdown and flee during his first invasion of Earth. Behind his cold facade, Giegue is a broken creature, his mental state is unstable, unable to deal with his human emotions and torn between them and his hatred for humanity. Combined with his growing power, he is prone to fly into uncontrollable and very dangerous fits of rage.

  • Powers and Abilities:
    • Telepathy: Giegue can communicate with others via telepathy. When he really focuses, he can outright influence other life forms or give life to not-sentient objects like lamps or dolls. People with good hearts can resist him more easily.
    • Levitation: Giegue can float in the air, teleport, and also levitate all kinds of objects with the sheer power of his brain. He can't do that on people.
    • PSI: PSI, a power that originated from Giegue's people, can be used in many ways. Those powers can be used for offense, with elemental attacks like PK Fire, PK Thunder, and PK Freeze, as well as PK Flash, PK Beam or PK Starstorm, non-elemental, yet powerful attacks. Giegue can also use PSI to confuse his opponents or put them to sleep, create temporary barriers, and heal and reinforce his allies.
      • Incomprehensible attacks: Alongside the standard PSI abilities, Giegue, as a prodigy among his race, can also use much more powerful attacks only he knows, in the form of psychic jolts waves and zaps that he launches at his enemy's mind. Those attacks are so strong they can come as inexplicable for others and they have the potential to destroy minds and drive people insane. With that said, given how unstable Giegue has become ever since his first defeat, he can't abuse them anymore without risking losing himself into yet another breakdown.
    • Physical strenght: Or rather, lack of. Giegue can do little as to claw and use his tail as a mean of defense should he be forced to fight without his psychic powers.
    • "...go... b... a... c... k...": When melting down, Giegue can have trouble speaking and thinking, his eyes becoming empty and red smoke steaming from his body. The more he gives in to his anger and bloodlust, the more he grows powerful and the more his body seems like it could tear itself apart. Those are but signs of the abomination Giegue could turn into in the future after losing his mind and gaining limitless power: Giygas, the Universal Cosmic Destroyer.

  • Assets: Giegue owns a capsule where he spends most of his time meditating, thinking or resting. Said capsule is filled with an unknown liquid. Giegue also uses it as a mean of defense, staying inside and fighting with his PSI abilities while the capsule protects his frail body from heavy attacks. He also has a UFO to travel with, controlling it with his mind, though he'll likely dispose of it once joining the crew.

  • Background: Giegue was born among a race of aliens. In the 1900s, the aliens abducted two humans, Georges and Maria, to study the humans. During this time, the couple raised the infant Giegue, with the alien growing particularly close to his mother, Maria. However, George started to study their aliens and their incredible psychic abilities. Two years later, George managed to escape back to Earth with the knowledge of PSI but was not able to take Maria with him. It's assumed that she disappeared during or after the incident.

    • Once matured Giegue was ordered by his kin to destroy humans for the theft of PSI. Giegue was thus forced to detach himself from his love for Maria, and was given an army to do so. Without the guilt of invading his parents's homeworld burdening him, Giegue launched his attack in the 1980s. During the invasion, Giegue used his incredible PSI powers to spread his influence on Earth, bringing objects to life and mind-controlling others to do his bidding. He also captured several humans for unknown purposes.

    • During the invasion, Giegue was confronted by Ninten, George and Maria's descendant. Giegue offered him a chance to join his side, out of respect for his ancestors, but when the boy refused, Giegue started to attack him and his friends. Little did he know, Ninten and his group knew about Giegue's weakness: a lullaby that Maria used to sing to him whenever he was scared when he was but an infant. Singing the song caused Giegue to relive his happy childhood and triggered his repressed guilts and feelings to resurface, forcing him into a complete mental breakdown. Traumatized, humiliated, and on the verge of tears, Giegue fled, swearing revenge.

    • After this failed invasion, Giegue, unable to accept defeat and cope with Ninten's "betrayal", didn't return to his kin, instead escaping his army and embarking on a journey to clear his mind from his guilt and love and gain more power so that he could exact revenge against Earth. But power comes at a cost, and he had become more and more irritable and unstable recently, rumbling to himself all alone and mumbling incoherent things, suffering sudden meltdowns where he turns into a bloodthirsty monster, terrifying nightmares and growing pain in both his mind and body.

    • Additional Notes: Nerfs added to his PSI repertoire, as well as the Inexplicable attacks.

  • Name: Inspector Gesicht
  • Alias: N/A
  • Franchise: Astro Boy / Pluto
  • Gender: Masculine Programming
  • Age: Late 30s programming
  • Species: Robot/Android
  • Appearance: To protect and serve
  • Alignment: Paragon
  • Job: Police Detective/Security Officer
  • Personality: Gesicht is programmed to follow a very by the book style of no nonsense police officer, with inquisitive and intuition as needed portions for his job as a Detective. This makes him seem rather terse and serious while on the job, while honest about his nature as a robot, in truth Gesicht is very warm and open to others, holding a soft spot for kids and wanting to ensure their safety. He believes in the idea of "Protect and Serve" and will do so even at the risk of his own body. Gesicht believes himself to be a good person, though has been troubled by nightmares of an accident, and the fear he may have been responsible.
  • Powers and Abilities:
    • Zeronium Body - Gesicht's body is constructed of a specialized alloy coated in a synthetic skin rendering him incredibly durable to damage and even immune to EMP effects. Though it does have an upper limit as sustained weapons fire will wear it down and specialized weapons such as cluster cannons can impart permanent damage that would require a complete overhaul.
    • To Protect And Serve - From implanted scanners to access to police databases within the Federation, Gesicht has the tools he needs in his head to handle a case.
  • Weapons and Equipment:
    • Zeronium Shell Cannon - Gesicht's right hand carries a powerful anti-armor weapon that fires shells of the same alloy as his body, though this is a carefully monitored weapon and Gesicht must get permission to use on any human targets first.
    • Shield Projector - While Gesicht is incredibly durable, one can never be too careful, so a limited electromagnetic projector is installed allowing him to deflect attacks.
    • Rocket Boots - While nowhere near as powerful for sustained flight, the rocket units in his feet do have enough output to allow him to hover over water for a decent period of time.
    • Federation Standard Pistol - Carried as per basic regulation, a sidearm for any law enforcement officers in the Federation. Used more as it is a lower caliber than his Zeronium Cannon.
    • Federation Soldier Uniform - An old carry over from his days during the Martian War.
  • Assets:
    • Police Database Access - Federation Cases are kept on record, so long as Gesicht has network access, he can pull up relevant files on previous cases or even laws in certain Federation Worlds.
  • Background: Constructed as a specialized Android to serve as Federation Law Enforcement nearly 9 years ago, Gesicht was made to be a type of super robot that could handle whatever criminal case came his way. Around this time he was not the only super robot being developed, as many other organizations were constructing their own from recovered Data from Earth. This however was not to last, and only 7 in total were made. The 39th Martian Conflict ended that after the disaster of the Bora Fact-Finding Mission uncovered attempts at building more robots of mass destruction 3 years ago. Gesicht served in the Conflict with Federation Peacekeeping forces, and was more than glad to return to his normal routine afterwards. Though recently he's been having nightmares, and has signed up with the Stella Mission in an attempt to help clear his head, hoping a change of scenery and methodology will let his AI recover without needing extensive reprogramming.

  • Name: Toa Lewa Nuva
  • Alias: The Spirit of Air
  • Franchise: BIONICLE
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: 100,000 -Though he slept through most of it and can only clearly remember the last couple of years.
  • Species: Toa
  • Appearance: His usual appearance. His Adaptive Armour, however, can shift to resemble just about anything. This is him adapted for a space environment
  • Alignment: Paragon
  • Job: As a Toa, Lewa is automatically considered a warrior, a hero of the people, and in some cultures close to a god. His duty is to use his powers to fight evil and bring peace and justice to the world, though an unwritten code of honour binds him not to take a being's life or let a being's life be taken if he can help it. Now, however, he has a new purpose- to explore the wondrous new galaxy, record his discoveries for posterity, and maybe make some new friends for his world and culture.
  • Personality: Lewa has always been lighthearted, with a mischievous streak and a daring attitude, being something of a kid brother to the rest of his team. However, while he's always trusted his instincts, a few bad experiences in his time have tempered his impetuousness and taught him to err on the side of caution, if just a little. Still, nothing can fully dampen his love of fun and adventure or his fierce sense of individuality. He has an appreciation for wildlife and loves nothing more than to traverse treetops and open air. If there's one thing he hates, it's being underwater.
  • Powers and Abilities:
    • First and foremost, Lewa is a seven-foot, two-inch (or 1.6 bio, by home's measurements) tall biomechanical entity. 85% of his body is mechanical, including mechanical receptors for eyes and ears and a miniature power plant in the place of a heart, but certain organs like muscles and lungs are organic, albeit with a metallic composition. All this metal gives him superhuman speed, stamina and durability. His natural armouring is bulletproof, and he's able to lift over a tonne on a good day. He still needs to breathe, sleep, feed and drink for survival, mind you, though not at much as organic life. But while he can eat fruit and meat, he actually consumes through his hands, absorbing energy via touch. Eating through one's mouth is considered obscene by the Toa and related Matoran. He and his kind never age as long as their parts are maintained, but their organs can fail over time.
    • Lewa's affinity is Air. At a base level, that means he is naturally athletic and agile, nimble in the treetops, but clumsier on the ground. As a Toa of Air, Lewa has complete control of the atmosphere in his immediate environment. He can manipulate wind currents, whip up cyclones, increase or decrease air pressure, and sense movement on the breeze. He can even absorb air into himself, generating a vacuum or causing an implosion, or create air- at one point forming an air bubble for himself and a few other large beings in the void of space! Of course, expending too much of his power would drain him, and he'd need to recharge from being surrounded by his element- in this case, breathable air. This could take a few minutes, or mere seconds if he concentrates.
    • Since becoming a Toa Nuva, he's also gained the ability to set air blasts on a timer. His powers have also become linked to a stone tablet called a Nuva Symbol. This is kept in a secure location on his homeworld, for if it were ever stolen, then his powers of air would be lost as well.
    • Finally, as an absolute last resort, he has the potential to absorb the air for miles around, before unleashing it all in a devastating Nova Blast, an explosion that would level an area larger than a city. He would have no control over who would get struck by this blast, however, and would be completely drained for a long time afterwards.
  • Weapons and Equipment:
    • Kanohi Nuva Masks: Every Toa wears a Kanohi Mask. For one thing, it's an integral part of their biology, carrying a portion of their spirit once magnetically attached to their face. If it were removed, a Toa's powers would be weakened, and they would eventually lapse into a coma. Beyond that, however, many Kanohi come with supernatural powers, which can be accessed through discipline and willpower. Lewa has collected six, and all of them of the most powerful type ever created, with the bonus of letting him share the power with others. However, outside of their usual storage, he can't switch between them all just by thinking about it and has to think carefully about which he wants to pack for an expedition.
      • Lewa's default mask is the Kanohi Miru, the Mask of Levitation. This lets him cause himself, and those around him, to float high into the air and slow their descent. It can also boost his jumps to an incredible distance. However, it's not a mask of flight, and he needs both his power of air and a good set of wings to glide a proper distance. This is the mask he wears constantly. Lewa keeps all his other masks in a secure trunk with the rest of his luggage. These are:
      • Kanohi Kaukau, the Mask of Water-Breathing, which lets himself and those around him breathe underwater for a long duration, and withstand great ocean pressures.
      • Kanohi Akaku, the Mask of X-Ray Vision, which lets himself and those around him see through almost any solid object or illusion. It even comes with a nifty telescope lens over one eye.
      • Kanohi Hau, the Mask of Shielding, which lets him form a forcefield around himself and those around him. This shield is extremely durable, though not unbreakable. It works against almost any physical attack he's aware of but is useless against an ambush.
      • Kanohi Pakari, the Mask of Strength, which grants himself and those around him the greatest strength that their muscles can withstand.
      • Kanohi Kakama, the Mask of Speed, which lets him and those around him move so fast they could run up walls or pass through solid objects without harm.
    • Adaptive Armour: While the silver armour plating on his chest and arms works well for extra defence, Lewa has also been granted a bespoke set of armour that can cover his whole body. Made from Protosteel, the toughest form of metal in the Matoran world, this armour has built-in sensors that react to the immediate environment, and prompt a total transformation of body armour, mask and even weaponry to match. The change ends there, with no subsequent shifts depending on attackers. But the features generated can change depending on if Lewa is operating in the sky, a swamp, a desert, a jungle, a polar region, underwater, or even a kind of vehicle. It stands to reason, then, that it could shift to deal with the vacuum of space if need be.
      • Features generated as needed by the armour include, but are not limited to, jetpack pauldrons for flight (strength modulated depending on area), visors for a windshield, aerodynamic fins, heads-up displays with targeting reticules, sand filters, shaded eyepieces, internal cooling systems, hydration packs, extra sealant between joints, cutting implements, radar capabilities, breathing apparatus, and/or extra layers for heat insulation. With all that said, there are limits to the amount of protection provided.
    • Weaponry:
      • Lewa's primary weapons are two Air Katana, swords that he could even position under his arms as wings to glide through the air, with his elemental powers providing strong updrafts to lift him. More crucially, these weapons can work to channel his elemental energy, letting him launch more focused gusts of wind. These Toa Tools can shift with his armour depending on the environment and take very different shapes. In the past, they took on the form of a singular Air Saber. They may even vanish entirely, with them and other spare equipment being deactivated depending on the situation.
      • Lewa also carries a handheld projectile weapon, which comes part and parcel with his Adaptive Armour. This can take many different forms as the armour shifts shape, including a sphere-launching Midak Skyblaster, or the energy-torpedo-launching Nynrah Ghost Blasters. The exact form of the projectile changes depending on the most prevalent opponent in the area. For example, if Lewa was up against villains of elemental shadow, it would draw energy from the environment to create bursts of light. This weapon, too, can be automatically dissipated if the environment seems to call for it.
      • Axalara T9: This is a vehicle acquired from one of Lewa's last adventures, and is truly a sight to see. A one-man aircraft, and the strongest of its kind, this baby boasts double-reinforced 24-inch (0.44 bio) thick protosteel armour, dual Midak Blasters firing spheres of concussive light energy, and Tri-Cyclone Stingers with lasers and forcefield capacitors. The T9 engine supplies up to seven million pounds of thrust. When using this vehicle, Lewa's armour adapts by losing his weapons, gaining aerodynamic fins around the mask, and interfacing with the "smart cockpit" to relay sensor feeds directly to him.
    • Assets: Aside from some keepsakes from home, a trunk of masks, a mighty vehicle to ride and the armour on his back, Lewa travels fairly light on his way across the galaxy. However, if you ever went by his home, you'd find he was a figure respected by thousands of his people, with the full support of most nations founded on the world of Spherus Magna. He also has the support of his old band of brothers, the Toa Nuva. They're as strong as him and have all the same masks as him- well, not the red one. He looks like this now and has more average powers over Fire, a regular Great Mask of Shielding and, oh yeah, has absorbed potentially 42 different superpowers thanks to his Golden Armour. The rest of them command Water, Ice, Earth and Stone to a degree equaling Lewa's Air, and every one of them would bring absolute hell down on anyone who threatened their people, let alone one of their team.
    • Background:
      • To explain Toa Lewa, one must first explain his world. The Matoran Universe, as it is often called, was a self-contained world with its primary element being the metallic protodermis. It was an interconnected series of domes containing seas and islands, populated by many races. Most common were the Matoran- industrious little munchkins of different creeds themed around the elements. Some of them were destined to be transformed into Toa- tall and powerful beings who could use mask powers and elements in defence of their world. When their purpose was fulfilled and their destiny achieved, they could expend the Toa Energy that transformed them and instead become Turaga- elderly-seeming Matoran with limited mask and element powers who served as community leaders. All of them worshipped a being known as Mata Nui, the Great Spirit supposedly sent down by Great Beings from Paradise, who created the world and all within it, to watch over and protect them all. Little did any of them realise that they in fact lived within Mata Nui. Their islands were as his organs, and they themselves were like scaled-up nanotech functioning like blood cells. Mata Nui himself was a gargantuan robot- his face alone the size of Denmark -constructed by the people of a dying planet, sent out to explore the galaxy and someday return to put his homeworld back together again.
      • Toa Lewa and his brothers, then called the Toa Mata, were quite unlike the rest of their race from the outset. They were born as Toa, created and trained in secret. Their purpose- to be sent out to revive Mata Nui if ever he should be struck down. In time, they were sent into Karda Nui, the energy-storm-riddled heart of the world, and put into stasis for when the time was right. Then after thousands of years, disaster! The Makuta, a shapeshifting master of darkness considered the Great Spirit's brother, staged a coup and sent Mata Nui into an endless slumber. Mata Nui had just returned to the world of his origin, and now tumbled down onto one of its moons, covered entirely in water. His camouflage mechanisms kicked in, covering him in realistic terrain and forming a tropical island over his exposed face. The canisters containing the Toa Mata were launched out of the world, only to tumble into the waters of an endless ocean. There, they drifted for a thousand years, in which time their old organic parts rotted to nothing, and they forgot everything of their past.
      • Eventually, a signal was sent out that guided their canisters to the shores of an island, which the Matoran settlers had named after Mata Nui. After being released at last, and putting himself back together, Toa Lewa found himself at the beach of a great jungle. In the treetops was the village of Le-Koro, where the air-themed Le-Matoran welcomed him with open arms. There, he picked up the distinctive word-mashing slang of the village Le-Koro, but also learned he was not the only Toa on the island, and that he would have to join forces with his fellow Toa and collect the masks of power to liberate Mata Nui from the tyranny of the Makuta. So began his many quests, as Lewa was reintroduced to his brothers and sister, and each learned to trust the other. Together, they faced brainwashed beasts and omnicidal robot bugs, and Lewa found himself possessed by a mind-controlling mask- twice! At the end of one of their quests, he and the team were plunged into a pool of mysterious Energised Protodermis, and were transformed forever into the mighty Toa Nuva, their bodies, masks and elemental skills enhanced tenfold. Unfortunately, their old masks didn't all get enhanced, so they had to collect great masks of power all over again!
      • With unity, strength, and the help of a neophyte Toa of Light, they managed to drive the Makuta back, and the Matoran could journey beneath the surface to rediscover Metru Nui, the city-state home of their birth. There, the Toa Nuva discovered that Mata Nui was not only still asleep, but dying! He and his team set out to save the Great Spirit's life, but after a frankly embarrassing jobbing against a gang of new baddies, they left the Mata-Nui-Life-Saving to another team. Instead, they went gallivanting around the world to make sure everything was in order, for the great spirit's wake-up call. Towards the end, they had an audience with Artahka, a legendary master builder of their world, and from him were granted their suits of adaptive armour for the fight ahead. Then, they returned to Karda Nui, to battle the monstrous Brotherhood of Makuta and awaken Mata Nui at long last. The battle was hard fought, but Lewa got a sick new aircraft out of it, and ultimately the world was saved, the great spirit revived, and Lewa and his team lived happily ever after.
      • OR DID THEY?! In a sudden sad and shocking twist, it turned out the Makuta had taken advantage of Mata Nui's dying state to possess his body, seize full control of the world, and punt the original Mata Nui's soul out into the depths of space. From that point on, Lewa and his brothers were faced with a seemingly hopeless war, against a being who permeated the air they breathed and the ground they walked upon. But it was during one battle that things got really weird for Lewa in particular. Amid a dogfight, he was telepathically contacted by Artakha, teleported to a cave, swapped bodies with an eldritch horror, swapped back only to find himself with a random bunch of characters inside Makuta's physical BRAIN, got teleported out into the vacuum of space, got pulled through a portal into a prison for a mad Great Being who brought everything around him to life, escaped that tower only to find himself in a dinosaur-ridden jungle and confronted by a bunch of tribesmen that lead him away at spearpoint! When he eventually got back to the rest of his team, it turned out that not only had he somehow missed the ENTIRE epic final battle, where Mata Nui defeated Makuta once and for all and sacrificed himself to restore the world of Spherus Magna they now stood upon, but he'd also missed the signal that let everyone speak the native inhabitants' language and was one of the only ones who now had to learn it all the hard way! SHEEEEEEESH!
      • It was around this time that the Galactic Federation first discovered Spherus Magna. They might have been aware of it for some time, but a giant planet suddenly having its moons and ice ring collapse into it, and then spontaneously turning from a barely-inhabited desert world to a lush green-blue paradise, was bound to garner some attention. Once the Federation touched down and made first contact, they got a front row seat to organic and biomechanical races getting to know each other for the first time and building new societies from the rubble of the old. As some of the most prominent figures of the burgeoning world, the Toa Nuva were obvious candidates for being the spokespeople of their races. Toa Onua and Toa Gali, two of the wisest of their team, were put forward as ambassadors and emissaries, and to everyone's surprise, Lewa volunteered himself. As far as he saw, he'd been one of the first beings of the Matoran Universe to go into space (technically) so that made him more qualified than most. A few trips to a sub-orbital embassy, however, made it clear that Lewa wasn't cut out for a diplomatic role. Instead, with the shame of missing the final battle looming over his head, and a new curiosity about alien worlds burning in his heart, Lewa decided he would become an adventurer. He would be the face of his people and the spokesman of Toa ideals his own way; by travelling the galaxy, doing good, and learning all he could about brave new worlds. Having begged, borrowed and bartered his way into getting to ride the Axalara on his travels, Lewa gathered up his possessions, took a trunk full of his masks (just to be safe), and with the blessings of his friends and family, set off into the wild black yonder to see where the solar winds would take him...
  • Additional Notes: There are a couple of powers not mentioned since they're not directly relevant outside of his original world. He spent some time in the past controlled by a Krana, a power brain linked to the hive mind of the Bohrok, a race of robotic insects designed only for destruction. Because of this, he has a telepathic link to the Bohrok and subconscious knowledge of their mission. Lewa also has learned the ability to merge with other Toa into a being called a Kaita, but that's only with his fellow Toa, and he hasn't used this trick in a long time.

Fool From The Depths
#15: Apr 6th 2024 at 9:12:21 PM

  • Name: Charlie

  • Alias: Boulders

  • Franchise: FTL: Kestrel Adventures

  • Gender: Male

  • Age: Mid 20s

  • Species: Rockman

  • Appearance: Big, beefy, and ready to rock.

  • Alignment: Seems on the surface like a Renegade, but in truth he has the heart of a Paragon

  • Job: Security/Boarding, though he'll reluctantly take on some other miscellaneous jobs if necessary.

  • Personality: The best word to describe Charlie would be stoic. He's a Rockman of comparatively few words, and tends to dislike being emotionally open or talking about his past. While that trait isn't unusual for a member of the Rock species, what's a bit more unusual is that he's neither a religious man nor a pirate, two common (and not entirely unfounded) stereotypes of his race. He considers the Holy Words many Rock revere to have "plot holes the size of black holes", and though he's not exactly an especially heroic or moral type, he's willing to cross far fewer lines than a common criminal. He also hates authoritarians, fascists, racists, and generally anyone adjacent to those categories, though this is not something he tends to talk about a lot. However, a more unfounded hatred of his is his opposition to Zoltans, who he despises for their pacifism and the refusal to act in times of strife that often comes with it. Finally, he has a budding friendship going on with Liam, and the two work exceptionally well as a team and are very protective of each other, and he quite enjoys smashing stuff and bashing heads. Nothing like a good brawl with his buddy at his side to get him in the mood...

  • Powers and Abilities:

    • Rockman Biology: As a Rockman, Charlie is naturally more durable than many other species, due to the fact that species gets its name from its skin as hard as rock. It takes a lot more hits to take him down compared to a squishy human, and he can hit pretty damn hard himself. He also has a much higher tolerance to extreme temperatures, meaning that he's pretty much immune to fire and can survive the cold of the vacuum of space as long as he's got oxygen, thus requiring a less complicated spacesuit. The only downside to his biology is that he's also much slower and heavier than most, taking a lot longer to get where he needs to go and having a relatively poor reaction speed.

  • Weapons and Equipment:

    • Projectile Rocks: Charlie can shed bits of his skin to create small rocks that he can throw as projectiles in a pinch, though he doesn't use this ability often, much preferring melee combat.

  • Assets: Charlie owns a Rock Investigator-class ship, armed with a Heavy Laser Mk I (capable of doing significant damage and recharging very fast but only if there's no shield in the way to block it), Artemis-class Missile Launcher (which can bypass shields due to not being an energy weapon, but has a limited amount of ammo), basic shield system and a teleporter which can be used to board other vessels without having to dock with them first. It formerly belonged to the Inquisition of the Holy Words, an organization of Rockmen with the goal of converting anyone and everyone to their religion, but Charlie stole it when he left, painting over the Inquisition's symbol. It serves as transportation for him and his allies.

  • Background:

    • Charlie once had a brother who considered Charlie very close and dear, and was an outcast who didn't believe in the ways the Inquisition of the Holy Words were insisting were the only way of life. He tried his best to protect Charlie from them, but it wasn't long before the Inquisition found Charlie and took him in, separating him from his brother. At first, they exchanged letters, but as Charlie grew more and more distant and more and more enamored with the ways of the Inquistion, the letters grew more and more infrequent, until eventually, they stopped communicating with each other at all.

    • Then, everything changed one fateful day. The Inquisition ship that Charlie was aboard came across a group of Rock ships with markings typically associated with piracy and rebellion against the Inquisition, but despite the markings, they were unarmed. Over the comms, they pleaded for the Inquisition not to fire at them, and the first time in practically as long as he could remember, Charlie heard his brother's voice. He was too late to do anything, though, and the Inquisition fired, destroying the ship Charlie's brother was aboard and killing him. From that moment on, Charlie renounced the ways of the Inquisition and the religion which they peddled, fleeing far from Rock space and taking on a vow of penitence which required him to walk around nude (though thankfully, Rocks don't have genitals due to reproducing asexually through budding).

    • On his vast journey across the galaxy to find a new place to rest and settle down, he came across two different individuals in need: a Mantis by the name of Liam being used as a slave by slavers, and an Engi named Manon who was the only survivor of a ship crash on an undeveloped planet. Blaming his brother's death on inaction and refusing to let anyone else innocent suffer out of a lack of action, Charlie rescued both of them, and he became close friends with Liam, though his relationship with Manon is still a bit bitter. Eventually, Charlie found Centerra, and planned on settling down there, but his plans were derailed a bit when he, Liam and Manon discovered the request for escorts sent out by a prominent Centerran politician. At first, Charlie was reluctant due to his distaste for politicians, but Liam and Manon eventually managed to convince him to agree, and now, the three of them are ready to take up their positions.

  • Name: Liam

  • Alias: Blades

  • Franchise: FTL: Kestrel Adventures

  • Gender: Male

  • Age: Early 20s

  • Species: Mantis

  • Appearance: He's got blades for days!

  • Alignment: Paragon

  • Job: Security/Boarding, though he's willing to do other stuff so long as it doesn't involve repairing things (being a Mantis is hard sometimes...)

  • Personality: Liam is a little nervous sometimes, but also eager to impress those he looks up to. He used to believe he was human and was determined to prove it, but thanks to some talks with Charlie, he's largely come to terms with who he is, and now his determination has turned towards a different yet in some ways similar goal: proving to others that he can be a Mantis and still a good person willing to defend the ideals of the Federation. He's also deeply kindhearted, and wants to protect the innocent and uphold the good and true morals that the Federation stands by.

  • Powers and Abilities:

    • Mantis Biology: As a Mantis, Liam was born for combat. He can move with incredible speed compared to other species in a pinch, and his hands are literally blades, meaning he's capable of slicing and dicing every day of the week. He can also shoot acidic globs of spit as a projectile, in case he ever gets into any ranged fights. This all does come at a cost, though, and that's that he has very little hand-related dexterity as a result of, again, his hands literally being blades. He also absolutely sucks at repair work as many Mantis do, so he usually leaves repair duty to Manon.

  • Weapons and Equipment:

    • Federation-Issue Phaser: Liam owns a phaser, but doesn't typically use it unless he absolutely has to due to the fact that it's very difficult for him to operate thanks to his Mantis biology, meaning there's a high risk of him accidentally missing at a critical time or hitting someone with the wrong lethality setting. He mostly just keeps it in his back pocket and sticks to his spit for ranged fights, but it's there in case of emergencies.

  • Assets: Liam has access to Charlie's ship thanks to being his closest friend, but it belongs to the Rockman, not to him.

  • Background:

    • Liam was raised on an isolated community in Centerra, who taught him that he was a human and not a Mantis, and that Mantis were dangerous and to be avoided at all costs. All of the quirks of his biology were explained with hasty excuses, and he was generally treated as being just like the rest of the people there. But everything changed when the slavers attacked, abducting everyone they could get their hands on and forcing Liam to work for them in back-breaking conditions with no pay whatsoever. He experienced this for maybe a year or two, it was difficult to tell time on the ship. However long it was, it was far too long, and he was beginning to give up hope of ever seeing his family again, when suddenly-

    • -A Rock ship came roaring in, using its teleporter to bring Liam on board as it opened fire on the slaver vessel. Liam was told by the singular Rock pilot to help him fight, and the two managed to make use of their teleporter to kill the slavers and rescue the rest of the slaves. All of them were released and dropped off at a nearby space station, except for Liam, who joined forces with the Rock out of a combination of admiration and a desire to make it back home to Centerra. He learned the Rock's name was Charlie, and they quickly became fast friends and worked as an excellent team together.

    • Eventually, while taking a rest stop at an undeveloped scenic planet, the duo uncovered the ruins of a crashed Engi cruiser and found a singular Engi survivor. Re-activating the Engi, they found a new ally in the form of Manon, who joined them on their journey, albeit a bit reluctantly as he was somewhat distrustful of Liam as a Mantis, what with the Engi and Mantis races typically being mortal enemies. Eventually, the three of them managed to reach Centerra, where Liam finally re-united with his family and introduced them to Charlie and Manon. However, reunions were cut short when the they learned of the request for escorts, which Liam saw as an opportunity to prove himself. After a length debate, all three finally agreed upon taking up the offer. And now, here they are...

  • Name: Manon

  • Alias: N/A

  • Franchise: FTL: Kestrel Adventures

  • Gender: Non-Binary (Engis don't really think of gender in the same way as humans, but Manon seems to be alright with using he/they pronouns)

  • Age: Unclear, but let's just go with early 20s for the sake of sanity

  • Species: Engi

  • Appearance: At full processing power...probably.

  • Alignment: Paragon

  • Job: Shield operator and general repairman

  • Personality: As most Engi are, Manon is pragmatic, calculating, and speaks in a robotic way. However, they are far from cold, and are dedicated to doing as much good as possible and helping as many people as possible, even if they can be somewhat utilitarian about it at times. They dislike Mantises due to perceiving them as having a high chance of being dangerous, but are slowly starting to come around to the idea that not all Mantises are bad thanks to their experiences with Liam. They're very loyal to the Federation and its ideals, and will do whatever it takes to ensure that it will live on, even if they don't.

  • Powers and Abilities:

    • Engi Biology/Mechanics: As an Engi, Manon has an innate understanding of virtually all technology, and can repair broken systems at blazingly fast speeds in comparison to other races. He is also quite good at computing, allowing him to do complex equations in no time at all, and isn't half bad at hacking either. All of this prowess comes with the price of a few weaknesses, though. The first and most relevant con to being an Engi is that they simply aren't built for combat, and are typically very inadequate in a physical fight. The second, less relevant but no less important, is that they have a weakness to ion weaponry, due to the fact that being exposed to large amounts of ions scrambles their systems, making them unable to process properly and causing them to shout gibberish. Finally, despite the fact that the vast majority of an Engi's body is made up of mechanical nanomachines, there are still a few biological components which must be kept functioning for an Engi to remain alive, meaning that they're still susceptible to dangers like running out of oxygen.

  • Weapons and Equipment:

    • Federation-Issue Phaser: Much like Liam, Manon possesses a phaser. However, they actually have the dexterity required to use it, and aren't afraid to whip out in a scenario where they must engage in ranged combat.

  • Assets: Manon used to have access to an Engi cruiser, but it's a useless pile of scrap on a distant planet now. He now has access to Charlie's ship, but it's a far cry from what he's used to.

  • Background:

    • Manon was a member of an Engi group on a crucially important (and highly secret) mission: to deliver information about the Rebel Flagship to Federation HQ which could lead to the defeat of the Rebellion. Unfortunately, while they were on their way there, they were attacked by Mantis raiders, and their ship crashed on an oft-forgotten planet. Manon was the only survivor, and he only managed this thanks to going into a special stasis state which preserved his power. A long time later, he was re-activated by Charlie and Liam, and joined their crew both out of gratitude and a need to get as close to Federation HQ as possible (though the latter he didn't confide in the two, keeping his mission secret).

    • However, he soon encountered a problem: as a side effect of their prolonged time in stasis, the nanomachines which made up a majority of his body were beginning to degrade. His calculations indicated that the chances of them reaching their destination and conveying the information before succumbing to the degradation and perishing were less than 1%, so they resolved to look everywhere they could (in secret) for someone to pass the knowledge and their quest onto, all while trying to do as much good as they could along the way.

    • Now, he's arrived at Centerra along with Charlie and Liam, and considers this new request issued for escorts a way to kill two birds with one stone. They can help out and look for people to trust with the information and mission among the other escorts, all in one fell swoop. It would simply be illogical not to take the offer...

  • Additional Notes: Ok yeah so I've added on a bunch of stuff and done some tweaking, but the core of these characters still comes from Kestrel Adventures, a show which itself did a lot of tweaking and adding on stuff to its canon. I just hope it turns out alright.

  • Name: Ruri Hoshino
  • Franchise: Martian Successor Nadesico
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: 14
  • Species: Human
  • Appearance: "Idiots." Stands at 4'5.
  • Alignment: Contractual Paragon
  • Job: Ship Operator, Science Officer, Reserve Engineer
  • Personality: Ruri's a born cynic. She's intelligent and reserved, cold and aloof, her every word dripping with condescension. She sees herself as the smartest person in the room and often is, but her repressed memories and stunted emotions cause her to treat humanity with scorn. She feels she has more in common with computers and machines and has greater respect for them than organics, showing empathy and vulnerability that's hard for her to express with organics. Underneath her exterior she has a big heart, but her jaded disposition tempers it. Loves cute things but it's just as hard for her to say it.
  • Powers and Abilities: Ruri's a genius and solid engineer, but those aren't her only talents. Thanks to genetic engineering she can hack or communicate with computers and machines with ease, understanding them with a single glance. She's enhanced herself considerably over the course of her travels. She can jack into machines and computers with a thought, controlling those with limited AI and digitally uploading her consciousness to machines, computers and internet networks. Theoretically she could copy herself into a robot drone and live on if her body ceases to function, but she's not sure if it'ssomething she wants to do.
  • Weapons and Equipment:Ruri wasn't the only thing that got Boson Jumped. An Aaestvalis came with her as well, completely unmanned. With her talents she can control it with a thought, uploading herself into its systems for greater speed and control. Since then she's got herself something smaller for indoors, but the Aaestavilis is her greatest weapon. It's strong, durable and airbone. The basic unit is equipped with rocket forearms connected with high-tension cables and hand-to-hand combat weapons, but their strength and maneuverability is balanced out with a lack of long-range capabilities. Since she started traveling she got herself a smaller robot for indoors. It has similar capabilities to the Aeestvalis but isn't as powerful. She has been spending more time in her mech suits than her human body, but what that says about her is unclear
  • Background: Ruri's been with Nergal as long as she can remember. Nergal's one of the largest corporations in the universe, but their specialties are weapons and spaceships, often contracted by the Federation or other such powers when convenient. Unfortunately their ships were so complicated only a trained specialist could handle them. As a genius intellect with no known family to speak of she was a perfect candidate for the Nadesico. The Nadesico was their crowning jewel and and the first ship made exclusively for Nergal, but things didn't go as planned. During a mission to Mars the ship was caught up in a battle with the Jovian Lizards, one of the Federation's deadliest enemies. No-one's seen their face, but their machines and Bosun Jump technology are second to none. The crew was forced to eject, only for Yuri's pod to fall into a Chulip-generated Boson Jump. She was stranded in a distant part of the galaxy, lost and alone with nothing but her skills and an Aaestavlis. She used her talents to make a living and travel the stars, but she never forgot the Nadesico. Now on Centerra she's hoping she can send a message to Nergal and return home, but it's easier said than done.
  • Etc: Has a soft spot for Gekiganger III. Gekiganger III is a classic Super Robot show from 1971 AD. It nearly sank into the depths of history, but a small group of dedicated fans helped save it from the pits of obscurity. It's cheesy and corny and the animation hasn't aged well, but its hotblooded action and melodrama keeps fans coming back for more. Ruri isn't so obsessed, but she's seen the whole show at least once.

With some discussion regarding Ruri’s mech, and only a minor hangup about Lewa’s personal vehicle (which can easily be hashed out later), these three signups (Ruri, the FTL crew and Lewa) are Accepted.

Name: Don Dogoier

Alias: He's typically referred to as "Doc" or "Hakase."

Franchise: Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger

Gender: Male

Age: Unknown, presumed adult.

Species: Don isn't human and hails from an un-named planet, though nothing unique about his species is ever revealed. This can fanon-ed if necessary.

Appearance: The Boy.

Alignment: He's one of two hearts of the Gokaigers, who themselves are Heroic Renegades.

Job: Don is effectively a Caretaker - He's been a chef, assistant, janitor, repairman...just about any role, really. He's flexible.

Personality: Don is rather timid and unassuming at first glance. He's a people-pleaser that tends to others before himself and values stability; being the most approachable and kind out of the space pirates. He's a bit of a klutz and prone to slapstick, easily frightened and not the biggest fan of conflict. However, he's capable of powering through his fear and contribute when necessary. While he's mostly gotten over these fears in recent years and gotten a bit bolder, the occasional self-esteem slip-up occurs.

Powers and Abilities:

  • Gokai Change: Don is one of the Gokaigers, a Super Sentai team whose strength stems from their ability to wield the mysterious Ranger Keys, trinkets containing the essences of the various teams that come before and after them. By using these Keys, the Gokaigers can mimic the abilities and arsenals of their pantheon; partaking overwhelmingly in Combat Pragmatism. The Gokaigers usually stick to their patron colors (or Rangers that qualify) barring unique circumstances and Doc is no exception - sticking to Green or Black Rangers most of the time.

  • Cunning: Don's not the best fighter, but he makes up for that with an excellent ability to improvise.

  • Gadgeteer Genius: Don is quite tech-savvy and knows how to repair computers.

  • Cooking: Don is the cook aboard the Gokai Galleon.

  • Medical Training: It's not clear how experienced of a medic Don really is, but he's certainly had to patch up the others before, so is presumed to at least know the basics.

Weapons and Equipment:

  • Transformation Cellphone Mobirate: Don's henshin device. By inserting the Gokai Green Ranger Key into the device and turning it, Don can transform into Gokai Green.

  • Ranger Keys: Don usually has the Gokai Green Ranger Key on him. He can usually summon any Green/Black Ranger Keys with a thought, though the mysterious energies make it difficult for him to summon more than one or two in an engagement.

  • Gokai Saber: The team's personal sword-weapon. The Sabers are cutlasses with built-in grappling hooks, as well as a key-slot for Finishing Moves.

  • Gokai Gun: The team's side-arm. A flintlock that shoots energized metal balls at foes. Usually, Don will trade his Saber for Yellow's other gun and dual-wield, but on his own he makes do. These flintlocks can also be used for Finishing Moves.

Assets:

  • Transformation Cellphone Mobirate: The Mobirate also functions like a normal phone, thus it's an asset and a weapon. The mysterious energy weakening communications appears to have locked most of the phone's deeper functions, explaining why Don can't reach the others or summon his mech.

  • Gokai Green Ranger key: Always kept on his person. Used to transform, should he need to fight.

  • Money - Don has a humble amount of Credits to his name. Enough to get by for a week.

Background:

There wasn't much to say about Don Dogoier until the Zangyack Empire destroyed his planet. Forced on the run by the marauding empire, Don wandered the galaxy, taking odd jobs here-and-there. One day, he would be approached by a desperate woman and asked to repair a computer. It didn't take him very long to recognize her as one of the notorious fugitives of the Gokaigers, running away from her in fear. However, that fear soon turned into curiosity and he decided to follow through; per his policy of finishing any job he accepts. Notonly was repairing their computer a cinch, but their ship was a fucking mess. Don single-handedly cleaned their cabin, fixed their computer and made them an actual meal. The captain was impressed and decided to "adopt" Don into the crew.

They moonlit as heroes years later, taking aboard the displaced princess Ahim and eventually the Sentai fanboy Gai Ikari of Earth. The six made peace with their Sentai predecessors and destroyed the Zangyack Empire; protecting the Earth before wandering into the stars.

They've spent the intervening years getting into various mis-adventures; most of which involve rooting out any Zangyack remnants and bounty-hunting for other universal threats; all while finding any treasure worth their time. The team stumbled into the transmission from Planet Centerra and landed there with the intent of answering the summons wholesale.

But fate can be a trickster and it decided that a bounty-target would arrive on Centerra a day before everyone gathered. The others pursued them and took to the stars...Except Don, who'd overslept and ended up left behind. With no meaningful way to contact the others and being effectively stranded, Don figures he may as well answer the government's call for heroes. Maybe it'd take him home?

Additional Notes:

  • As stated, it's not clear what species the Gokaigers all are. They're all different Human Aliens (except Gai, who's the Token Human) with little in the way of outstanding features.

Name: Himeno Ran

Alias: "Queen Himeno," "The Dazzling Queen," "The Selfish Queen"

Franchise: Ohsama Sentai Kingohger

Gender: Female

Age: Unknown, presumed Adult

Species: Species of Tikyu, descended from Humans.

Appearance:

Alignment: Paragon, with Renegade leanings.

Job: Himeno is one of Tikyu's six Kings; herself the queen of the Beautiful Kingdom Ishabana. She's also the Kingdom's head Doctor, coming from a familial line of them.

Personality: Himeno is a bit of a paradox; being both intensely selfish and quite generous. On the surface, she's a Fusion Dance of The Ojou and The Wonka: She lives for the lavish and beautiful; sparing no expense for finery and wealth, even encouraging selfishness from everyone else around her in the hopes of seeing others ambitions flourish. She also has a fetish for...high ordinance and will happily demolish something with explosives or fireworks if given the opportunity.

However, most of her greedy pursuits benefit the people of Ishabana as well and despite her selfish tendencies, her compassion for other people can arise when pressed, especially when it comes to medical manners. Like most of the Kings on Tikyu, her character flaws serve to enhance, rather than oppress, her realm.

Powers and Abilities:

Himeno Ran is a member of the "Six Kingdom Anti-Incident Strategic Rescue Team," (usually shortened to "Ohsama Sentai") the catch-all label for the formal alliance of the Kings of Tikyu against local and outward threats to the planet. Each member of the Sentai has been personally elected to wield the powers of their kingdom's patron Shugod (ie: gigantic sentient insectoid Humongous Mecha) as an armored warrior and help in piloting the gigantic Guardian Spirit of Legend "KingOhger," which the Shugods all fuse into.

  • Political Knowledge: As a royal, Himeno knows how to conduct herself during diplomatic affairs; having been versed in politics, ceremony and other relevant codes of conduct - representing Tikyu in her dealings as fairly as she can allow.

  • Explosive Handling: Her penchant for fireworks and ordinance gives her more knowledge on the subject than to be assumed of someone of her stature and expression.

  • Medical Training: Ishabana is both the Kingdom of beauty and the Kingdom of medicine, hosting Tikyu's largest assortment of doctors and nurses; of which she is the physicians among physicians. She's cured numerous diseases and come up with many practices on Tikyu; having cured a martian disease with just a bit of prep-time and having nearly discovered the secret to immortality on her own; only choosing to do nothing with it on moral grounds.

  • Piloting: The Shugods must be piloted by their respective users and Himeno is no exception. She at least knows the basics of flight training.

  • Battle Training: The Kings of Tikyu are all battle-hardened swordsmen. Himeno is a warrior that fights with dignitas and grace, focusing on dishing out damage over taking it; which only intensifies when she fights as KamakiriOhger.

Weapons and Equipment:

  • Transformation Sword OhgerCalibur: The sword the Kings of Tikyu all fight with, as well as their Transformation Trinket. These swords are creations of the Tech King Yanma Gast, with which each King can use to transform into a Kingohger by linking directly to the power of the Shugods. Himeno transforms into the yellow-armored KamakiriOhger an agile armored combatant that aims for precise strikes and overwhelming force, at the cost of defense. Due to the engagement with the Galactinsects, these swords have become Immortal Breakers, allowing them to harm eldritch opponents.

  • King's Weapon: A shield that is summoned when a King transforms, the King's Glaive is, well, a shield. The shield itself can be warped into various side-weapons for the Kingohgers to equip if they need to, ranging from a bow to a sickle. While the Kings don't utilize this function often, Himeno prefers to use the Sickle Mode when she does, transforming the Shield into a sweeping axe for range.

Assets:

  • God Kamakiri: A gigantic insectoid mech that serves as KamakiriOhger's personal robot. The destruction of Dugded Djardin (a universal-level entity) greatly damaged the Shugods as a result of the fight, leaving the robots in a weakened state that allows them to still help the Kingohgers transform, but are still too "wounded" to do much fighting. God Kamakiri is currently resting on the Planet Centerra per Himeno's condition for engaging with the planet's request for heroes. This also means that KamakiriOhger cannot currently engage the Explosive Overclocking-oriented "Hyouga Issen" upgrade-form.

  • King's Hotline: A cellphone each of the Kingohgers have; which serve primarily as cellphones but also work as belt buckles. As she is currently off Tikyu, the Hotline is limited to whatever signal it can get and is otherwise your typical smartphone.

Background:

The future Queen of Ishabana was only a child when the Fury Of the Gods rained down upon Planet Tikyu. A horde of zombified Cicada-gods engulfed the globe; destroying infrastructure, ravaging homes and ending many, many lives. But the day of this disaster was personal for Himeno Ran, for in the confusion, a hooded figure assaulted her parents while they tending to the wounded and poisoned them; leaving the orphaned Queen to assume the throne as a child.

As an adult, Himeno rules Ishabana alongside her team of doctors and her faithful butler Sebastian. In the Tikyu Year of 2023, an oddball rebel named Gira declared war upon the nation of Shugoddam and its unscrupulous ruler Racles Husty, intriguing the Dazzling Queen into investigating the rebel alongside the other rulers. This self-styled "Tyrant King" sought the deposition of Racules and improvement of the lives of the people around him; contributing to an alliance between the Tyrant and the other nations (though Toufu was Playing Both Sides for awhile), allowing the resurrection of the 2000-year old guardian spirit Legend King-Ohger, prophecized to arise in need when the Boggnarok returned to menace humanity once again.

...Except, the Boggnarok were innocents. Sort of. Between the ignorance of their newest member Jeramie Brasieri and manipulators nobody saw coming, the entire war between humanity and the Boggnarok was a con created by the Galactinsects, Eldritch Abominations that styled themselves as universal exterminators that force themselves into planets' political systems and cause destructive Civil Wars for entertainment. The previous Kings of Tikyu were forced to play ball by these eldritch "benefactors," which was the only reason the Boggnarok were 2000-year-old enemies in the first place. Gira and the latest batch of kings decided not to be pawns and rebelled against Dugded and the Galactinsect Jesters; the first to do so.

This lead to a formal war between the Kings of Tikyu and Dagded's Jesters, whose abilities to cheat death, defy physics and induce various types of paranoia and malcontent tested the Kings' ability to unite and spat in the face of unified friendship.

One of Dagded's schemes sent them to Earth, wherein they discovered that the creatures had caused issues here too; forcing the displaced rulers to join forces with the Kyoryugers to depose the current vassal-enemies the Galactinsects left behind and return Earth to human hands before finally returning home (which Time Dilation ensured took them six months).

Despite their world turning against them and The Jesters having taken everything, the Kings persisted and fought these impossible enemies. Things eventually came to a head after the previously-dead Racules made another grab for Shugoddam's throne. A 20-year-long con came to fruition and Dagded in his hubris, granted Racules the power to harm immortals to destroy his failed creation Gira, which was immediately turned against him. The heroes slowly-but-surely defeated Dagded's long-lived Jesters and finally engaged the Uchu King himself. Despite their momentum, the heroes attempted to enact a final evacuation alongside their King's Proofs; entrusting the defeat of Dagded to the next generation and employing Shugoddam's castle as a makeshift Noah's Ark while they fought the abomination to buy time.

But the people weren't having it.

They turned their final hope back and returned planet-side, forming into a massive army of both the living and the dead to rebel against this impossible creature come what may; re-empowering their Kings after the greatest battle to occur on Tikyu ever took place. The unity of Tikyu's people enraged the haughty Galactinsect King that came to rely on senseless bloodshed and a final battle took place between Dagded and The "Transendent Storming Ultimate Perfect King-Ohger," a titanic mech that battled the being across universal boundaries as they perceived them; permanently de-throning the abomination after the Shugods sacrificed themselves for a final attack.

In the present day, Tikyu is a newcomer to the Stella System; their variation of the Fermi Paradox having been finally answered. They've begun trade with other planets and are in the throes of being recognized; having even briefly returned to Earth to aid in a multi-team coalition between the Super Sentai and the Power Rangers to stop an enemy empire. Being one of the many planets that received the request for heroes to arrive on Centerra, a competition between the Kings ended with Hymeno as the winner. Thus, Ishabana represents the Planet of Tikyu in all dealings and intends to do so beautifully.

Additional Notes:

  • The coalition between the Super Sentai and the Power Rangers in this reality (discussed with Zodan beforehand) is an alternate take on both the "Legendary Battle" and the "Legend War" it was adapted from; accounting for teams post-Gokaiger.

  • Himeno is an acquaintance of Don Dogoier, due to having encountered him during the second Legend War.

  • Name: Lieutenant Demetrian Titus
  • Alias: The Hero of Graia
  • Franchise: Warhammer 40,000*
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: Approximately over 400 years, but he doesn't look older than your average career soldier.
  • Species: Transhuman Super-Soldier
  • Appearance: "My honour is my life. My craft is Death. My pledge is eternal service."
  • Alignment: One could argue he is a Punch-Clock Renegade: his ideals and mannerisms are very much geared towards Paragons, but the issue is that he is working for a military power that has been very expansionist in the past.
  • Job: A Space Marine of the Imperium is expected to descend onto the front lines and defend humanity at any cost, so security and/or boarding actions would be foremost amongst his activities. Having said that, he has command experience, so he may act as an impromptu officer as well.
  • Personality:
    • Titus is a bit of an oddity amongst his Ultramarine brethren. A professional soldier, Titus never loses his cool and is always ready to face the enemy head-on. Space Marines are said to know no fear, and Titus goes beyond exception, as he will lay his life down to protect those weaker than him, and if any of his friends are killed, may the Emperor protect your soul. And despite what people may say about the awesome power of the Adeptus Astartes, Titus is the kind of man to downplay his own achievements, for those who would revel in their own glory are not worthy of being Angels of Death.
    • Unlike most Space Marines in his Chapter, Titus is surprisingly pragmatic and open-minded. He has no business seeing the Codex Astartes as a sacred rulebook that must be followed to the letter, but treats it more as a guideline and if he thinks that diplomatic options are far more suitable than brute force, he will gladly take it. As such, he makes it a point to be polite to those he meets, even those belonging to other species that the Imperium is supposed to hate on paper.
    • Titus also has a dry sense of humour, honed from centuries of service to the Imperium, alongside dealing with the somewhat nonsensical intricacies of Imperial bureaucracy. He has had a low opinion on the Inquisition ever since the Liberation of Graia, and thanks to that, he also has a low tolerance for those who preach about following one's values, only to go back on those values.
  • Powers and Abilities: As a heavily-augmented Transhuman Super-Soldier, Titus possesses a number of superhuman abilities that can prove useful even outside his powered armour. These can be attributed to the very specific augmentations that all Space Marine Aspirants slowly receive from their selection to their full graduation.
    • Reinforced Durability: Various implants give a Space Marine increased durability and a heightened ability to survive dangerous situations. These include a reinforced ribcage that is effectively bulletproof, as well as coil cables implanted in the sinews to enhance muscle durability.
    • Enhanced Strength: One of the augmentations given to a Space Marine, especially those of the Primaris Space Marines, is enhanced strength through the development of enhanced muscle growth, bone density and the aforementioned coil cables implanted in the sinews. These sinew enhancements in particular boost a Primaris Space Marine's strength beyond a normal Space Marine's limits, which is even further augmented with the use of powered armour.
    • Enhanced Vision: A Space Marine's eyes have been augmented to be able to see in dark areas, almost as well as in daylight, but with the use of a powered armour's enhanced vision system, this may be redundant. Still, it doesn't hurt to have, if Titus is found compromised without his wargear.
    • Enhanced Hearing: Space Marines have vastly enhanced hearing, to the point of being able to pick out certain sounds or ignore some sounds entirely. This enhancement was made by replacing a Space Marine's natural ears with a set of specifically genetically-constructed ears.
    • Larraman's Cells: A specific augmentation related to the blood vessels, if a Space Marine is injured, their blood is able to clot much more quickly than normal humans, forming scar tissue around the wound almost instantaneously.
    • Combat Revitalizer: In the event of extreme trauma or stress, a Space Marine can gain increased reflexes, physical endurance and strength. However, after a few minutes, the implant responsible for this will shut down, needing a long time to recover before it can be used again.
    • Toxin and Poison Resistance: Thanks to augmentations like a third lung or a specialised liver-like organ, a Space Marine can resist, if not outright ignore toxins in the air, as well as avoid ingesting poisonous foods. In the event the poison cannot be contained easily, the Space Marine enters an unconscious state until the emergency detoxification is complete.
    • Black Carapace Interface: Space Marines are given a specialised interface implanted beneath the skin of their torsos, which are used to help a Space Marine use their powered armour as effectively as possible. As such, this carapace is similar to many man-machine interfaces found throughout the universe in function.
    • Astartes Warfare: It is not just the augments and powered armour that make a Space Marine, but also their training. Thanks to years of rigorous training, field experience and technical expertise, Space Marines are proven to be the best soldiers the Imperium can field, and some Space Marines go on to become important leaders thanks to the applications of tactical knowledge they have gained.
  • Weapons and Equipment:
    • Tacticus Mark X Powered Armour: The standard-issue powered armour of the Primaris Space Marines, dressed in the iconic blue of the Ultramarines, this suit is made of ceramite plating and is designed to completely enclose its wearer to protect them from the elements, as well as protect against attacks from small-caliber weapons. While the armour can deflect damage from heavier weapon systems, it is not invincible, as heavier weapon systems, like those similar to the boltguns that Space Marines carry, can cause significant damage to the armour. The suit is also equipped with various auspex and electronic sensors to assist the Marine in battle, alongside an AI-like Machine Spirit.
    • Cawl-Pattern Mk. II Auto Bolt Rifle: The Boltgun was the most iconic weapon used by the Adeptus Astartes, as it is a weapon system designed to fire .75 explosive armour-penetrating bullets in quick succession. With the introduction of Primaris Space Marines, this weapon system has been re-designed to be modular, allowing a Space Marine to have it customised to their liking. Titus prefers a box-magazine, automatic fire configuration for his Bolt Rifle, and while it is excellent in destroying multiple unshielded enemies easily, it is less effective against armoured units that can shrug off a magazine’s worth of bolts.
    • Cawl-Pattern Bolt Pistol: A smaller, one-handed weapon using a similar form of ammunition as its rifled brethren, this weapon is a useful sidearm to have in close-quarters combat. While it may not be as powerful as the Auto Bolt Rifle, it is useful for staggering larger foes for follow-up counterattacks.
    • Chainsword: A set of chainsaw blades integrated into a sword-like hilt, this iconic weapon is designed to chew through flesh and wear down armour with its motorised teeth. In the hands of a veteran Space Marine like Titus, it is a formidable weapon to have in close-quarters combat, especially as it does not require ammunition to take on the enemies of the Imperium.
  • Assets:
    • Aside from a cache of extra ordinance provided by the Master of the Arsenal, Titus also has a tech-priest servant hailing from the technologically-gifted Adeptus Mechanicus known as Galleus Malthiron, assigned to Titus to maintain his wargear, and refit it when necessary. This tech-priest also has a small contingent of skull-like drones capable of simple repair work accompanying him at all times.
  • Background:
    • Born in the Imperium realm of Ultramar, on the planet Tarentus, Demetrian Titus was the son of a humble family who was selected to become an Aspirant for the Space Marine Chapter of the Ultramarines, and was noted to be a brilliant student of the ways of the Astartes. Upon ascension of becoming a Space Marine, Titus soon proved himself to be a decorated warrior of the Imperium, despite occasional rumblings by his battle-brothers as to how he survived incidents that no other battle-brother had survived.
    • After gaining numerous victories for the Imperium, Titus was soon assigned to the 2nd Company, where he steadily rose through the ranks to eventually become the Company's Captain, honing his ability to analyse Xenos tactics as time went on, especially after the Imperial homeworld of Macragge suffered a massive attack during the First Tyrannic War.
    • After ten years since becoming Captain, and 150 years since he joined the Ultramarines, Titus was tasked with countering an invasion of the Forge World Graia by the green-skinned Orks by Warboss Grimskull. This invasion was eventually revealed to be a cover for a more insidious invasion by a warband of traitors led by the former Imperial Space Marine known as Nemeroth, but both invasions were eventually countered by a well-fought defense by both the Space Marines and the Imperial Guard. However, the Inquisition was alerted to the possibility of Titus having been in on the plot to invade Graia, and he was brought in for questioning by the Inquisition.
    • After spending some time being interrogated by Inquisitor Thrax, Titus was later recruited into Deathwatch, an elite unit of Space Marines that dedicate their efforts to specifically hunting down Xenos forces. After a disastrous crash-landing on the planet Kadaku, Titus was found by nearby Space Marine forces, and while severely wounded, he was chosen to go through the Calgarian Rites, otherwise known as the Rubicon Primaris, where he would become much stronger, more resilient, a more effective Space Marine.
    • After passing through the Calgarian Rites, he was granted an audience with the acting Imperial Regent and Lord Commander of the Imperium, Roboute Guilliman, where he was informed that he would serve as a representative of the Imperium while serving as one of many escorts for an important individual in the Centerra system, diplomacy being more important for the Imperium more than ever now that the Fourth Tyrannic War has begun in earnest on the Imperial Frontiers, far away from the Galactic Federation’s borders...

Additional Notes:

  • Okay, so my idea for Titus' character is mainly drawn from the Space Marine games that he stars in, with some extra info provided by the Lexicanum and Fandom 40K wikis. Naturally, I'm also borrowing from the Text-to-Speech series that was created by Bruva Alfabusa, because honestly that series is such a fun take on the 40K universe. It should be noted that the ban on AI isn't as extreme as in canon here: while the Imperium does not like the idea of free-thinking sentient AI within its borders, it is not above having these A.I.s, shackled with highly restrictive programs, to serve as support systems for various sections of the Imperium. Which means no gross cyborg servitors: the only cyborgs are the tech-priests of the Adeptus Mechanicus, because they are just as insane as the canon implies. At least by our modern standards.
  • Speaking of the Imperium as a whole, the Imperial homeworld is the planet Macragge, as opposed to Holy Terra in the canon, and Graia is also part of this massive sector. And while the Emperor has "led" the Imperium in the past*, Roboute Guilliman has assumed command of the Imperium’s military forces, as per the recent events of the Indomitus Crusade at the start of the 42nd millennium in 40K lore.
  • Also, Chaos and/or the Warp are explicitly not going to be a thing in this ‘verse: while the Heresy did happen, this time it is mainly due to Horus’ greed more than anything else and a sense of entitlement rather than being talked into rebelling by an evil god with an ulterior motive.

I am probably mad for thinking this up.

  • Name: Satoru Gojo
  • Alias: N/A
  • Franchise: Jujutsu Kaisen
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: 16
  • Species: Fushigan
    • Fushiga is a dwarf planet located in the Tengen system. Birthplace of the Gojo clan, its surface consists of rocky soil and has little in the way of natural greenery, making agriculture on the planet an incredibly intense undertaking which is taken incredibly seriously by Gojo clan members.
  • Appearance: 6’2
  • Alignment: Renegade
    • A rebel through and through, Gojo has an immature and self-centered sense of morality that is similar to Social Darwinism in nature. He believes strength to be the end-all-be-all of worth, and his natural talent affords him a laissez-faire attitude on life in general. While this apathy is expected of Jujutsu practitioners towards curses, Satoru has shown a repeated willingness to extend it to his human enemies as well, making his disregard for life particular and significantly more careless.
  • Job: Special-Grade Jujutsu Sorcerer/Curse User
    • It’s said that the most basic of all emotions is fear. That the source of all action and reaction, all connection and conflict, all intelligent life is the primal desire to run from that which is not safe. It’s said that fear- along with all that comes from it- are intrinsically linked to life itself. This concept manifests as ‘cursed energy.’ While all life generates this energy, most are unaware of it. It is the simple act of opening your eyes to the existence of the source of Jujutsu that constitutes the original awakening every Sorcerer undergoes.
    • Put simply, a Jujutsu Sorcerer is a person who has become aware of the existence of cursed energy and uses that awareness to further the agenda of Jujutsu Society, an expansive order of underground clans that have heavy influence over intergalactic politics, especially within their home-system of Tengen. Sorcerers are ranked based on how reliably they can take down curses. A sorcerer that can be depended upon to kill a 1st-Grade curse, for instance, would be a 1st-Grade Sorcerer. Special grades are those with CT’s that exceed usual measurement whether due to destructive capability or any other unexpected factor.
  • Personality: Deeply childish and arrogant, Satoru Gojo is the result of a society that values strength, birth into immense, alienating power, and immense privilege, all factors that combined to form a veritable walking atom bomb with all the reliability of a petulant teen. It doesn’t help at all that he is a petulant teen. Gojo rejects any concept of the strong bearing the failings of the weak and instead lives his life without taking any responsibility for anything. He prefers to simply do as he pleases at any given moment, and as such squanders his limitless potential on hedonism and self-gratification. His ego is immense, and he enjoys validating it.
    • The sorcerer considers himself better than basically everyone else and uses his strength-based philosophy as justification to both exalt his own achievements and abilities and discredit others’. Those he considers weak he will be cruel to in his mockery, and those he considers strong will find only brief respite from his arrogance. This cruelty isn’t entirely founded in conceit, however, as Gojo also values pragmatism and will encourage people unfit for combat not to try and pursue it, lest they die. He doesn’t make decisions based on any idea of ‘right’ or ‘wrong,’ instead taking a more utilitarian viewpoint and examining net good as much as possible in high-stakes scenarios. The greater good supersedes comfort, pride (specifically of others) and, in extreme cases, even life.
    • There is a good side to the boy, however, as he seems to genuinely value the people close to him. He maintained a close friend-group at Jujutsu High despite his flaws and violates his own philosophy in regard to those he considers important. Through these exceptions, the inherent hypocrisy of his worldview becomes apparent, but he’s yet to make the connection in his mind that a desire to protect people and a blanket superiority-induced apathy cannot coexist. This dichotomy provides an excellent driving question for Gojo as an individual. Who is he really? Is he ‘The Strongest?’ A being at such strength that he can hardly be called mortal and who willingly sheds that label to imitate the divine? Or is he a protector at heart? A man who will grow and develop into a champion for change in a system as at odds with itself as it is the curses of the cosmos? Only time will tell.
  • Powers and Abilities: Oh dear god.
    • Cursed Energy Manipulation: The foundation of all Jujutsu is the ability of a living organism to control and utilize their naturally produced cursed energy. This energy has a myriad practical uses, from protecting against damage to augmenting the strength of attacks to directly increasing physical attributes. Sorcerers use these base uses of cursed energy along with more advanced applications called Cursed Techniques to fight curses, sentient beings created from excess cursed energy produced by non-sorcerers.
    • Limitless: Cursed Techniques are tied to the body of the sorcerer, and as such are largely genetic. The Gojo clan has two major genetic wildcards that allow it to enjoy status as one of the big three, one of which is the Limitless technique. A highly versatile CT, Limitless weaponizes the concept of infinity. This normally incomprehensible concept is incapable of being fully understood by most minds, sorcerers included, which necessitates another special attribute of the Gojo clan, the Six Eyes (detailed below), for the true potential of the technique to be realized.
      • Neutral Application: Infinity. Between any two given points, there are an infinite number of points in between. Typically, this vast expanse is paradoxically cleared in an instant, but Limitless in its base form exploits that fact to create a forcefield of nothing but infinitesimal space directly around the surface of the user. This forcefield is the full extent of what a base limitless inheritor can use, with the only known exception being the very few capable of amplifying it. More advanced use of the neutral application may allow the user to shift the pressure of limitless space to levitate or even teleport, but it would require full understanding of the Six Eyes, something that no one, not even Satoru Gojo, has achieved.
      • Domain Amplification: Blue: The natural extension of the neutral application, Blue follows a similar principle. The user designated a space to generate a pocket of infinite space which forces the surrounding matter to fill it, thus creating an incredibly powerful vacuum. The typical Blue is thrown as a projectile akin to a grenade and has the necessary force to suck in a person of decent weight, though it is by no means indomitable and sufficiently strong individuals would be able to pull themselves from its gravitational field. The Six Eyes make the precision and power of Blue variable, allowing the technique far more power as a combat ability.
      • Unlimited Void: Satoru Gojo’s latent domain. Though as of now unable to use Domain Expansion, the potential to do so is present in the sorcerer’s mind. If this potential is ever realized, Gojo’s domain manifests as a flood of every single piece of information logged by the entire universe at any given moment. Exposure to information at such a scale destroys most minds, though any properly reinforced brain will be able to withstand it if not left receiving the information for a long enough amount of time.
    • Six Eyes: Where men are born with 2 eyes open, gods are born with 6. A mysterious and incredibly unique genetic mutation in the Gojo clan, the Six Eyes permit their bearer to fully perceive cursed energy, allowing for unmatched energy efficiency. Due to the personal nature of cursed energy, the Six Eyes can also perceive the subtle intricacies of individuals’ CE output, therefore allowing for the identification of people that Gojo already knows. It’s said that the Six Eyes have several greater secrets awaiting the one who manages to become enlightened within their lifetime, secrets that could truly make the difference between man and god.
    • Martial Arts Prowess: Satoru has been trained since birth to be a fighter, and he’s developed a complete mastery of hand-to-hand combat.
  • Weapons and Equipment: N/A
  • Assets:
    • A-105 'Nirvana' Star Cruiser: A Gojo-clan staple, the Nirvana is a one-man vessel that prioritizes speed and mobility above all else. This one was stolen and Satoru destroyed it as soon as he touched down on Centerra as to not be tracked, but it's possible the wreckage might be useful.
  • Background: There was uproar on Fushiga when our man was born. The Gojo clan, inhabitants of this and several other dwarf planets, had seen the reemergence of the Six Eyes. With the return of the ultra-rare mutation, the Gojos celebrated their fated return to the peak of Jujutsu politics. The child was raised up as if he were a king, and all in those hallowed halls did await his adult years with bated breath. Even those belonging to other banners such as the shadow dwelling Zen’in watched the Six Eyes carefully. For four-hundred years that gene had been latent, waiting. And now, alongside the limitless, Six Eyes had made another god out of man. At the moment of his birth, the cursed energy of the universe became overabundant; the natural production of every living being rising to preserve balance and pushing into motion a new golden age of Jujutsu. Sorcerers became stronger, curses became deadlier, and as a whole Jujutsu Society took a turn towards the dark as the leadership began using the further reach of curses as an excuse to expand their spheres of influence outwards.
    • Now in his teenage years, Gojo attended Jujutsu Academy located on Orbital Colony Star Womb. His first year passed without much issue, as expected, and his arrogance was fueled even further now that he was peerless among his peers. Almost peerless, at least, as one Suguru Geto quickly proved to be Satoru's closest rival in terms of strength. The two partnered together and regularly took on missions during their training. Rivalry gave way to friendship, and eventually Geto had become the white-haired sorcerer’s first love. After a series of ideological clashes that coincided with Gojo’s increased self-centeredness, however, they messily parted ways, throwing Gojo into a spiral that resulted in his decision to go rogue, abandoning Jujutsu society to instead live his life as he pleased. He stole a Gojo-clan cruiser and made his way to Centerra, the site of a mission he and Suguru were set to undertake before the schism. Complete that mission as planned- under the guise of an elite Space Cadet from a prestigious university -and then live for himself. That’s his plan from here on. The Gojo clan and Jujutsu society aren’t content to simply let the boy go, however, and so he has to stay moving lest he comes face to face with something he can’t run from.
  • Additional Notes: This character is difficult to justify, I get it. I assumed that, considering the sci-fi stuff, Limitless would have a lot more answers than the previous few there are in JJK proper. On top of that, this specific version of Gojo was chosen because of his relative weakness, what with his inability to use domain reversal, RCT or hollow purple. If anything else needs to be changed, I am fully willing to workshop my man as much as possible.
    • Jujutsu Society is basically just an elitist group of wizards here. They’re keeping Jujutsu under wraps mostly to maintain their power within the underworld they’ve created and also because the higher ups believe the art to be a sacred and familial thing that should only be made known to children of sorcerers.

I understand Kamelion/klom intends to add a second character to this signup so I will defer a judgment on it for the moment

Convoy’s seems reasonable, if a bit tanky but we’ll see how well that holds up for him. Accepted.

As for Yaya’s…I’m having a hard time understanding what his powers even do, let alone how they scale with anything else. Additionally, considering the number of references to him practically being comparable to a god, I’m not sold on him being balanced for this game’s power ceiling at the moment, so I can’t accept it the way it is.

  • Name: Hunter Killer 47
  • Alias: HK-47, HK.
  • Franchise: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.
  • Gender: Male programmed.
  • Age: Atleast 4,000 Years Old.
  • Species: Assassin Droid.
  • Appearance: "Query: Is there something that needs to be killed, Master?"
  • Alignment: Professional Renegade
  • Job: While parts of his programming in order to blend in and get closer to his target has features of Protocol Droids, whose job was to aid sentients with their etiquette and relations with each other in the galaxy, his true deal is as an Assassination Droid, meant to exterminate a target with extreme prejudice.
  • Personality: HK-47's personality programming caused him to appear misanthropic, bordering on sociopathic, to those who encountered him. The droid enjoyed observing—and often causing—death and destruction, showing complete disregard for bystanders on more than one occasion. Despite this, HK-47's programming caused the assassin droid to maintain a protocol of professionalism, preventing him from senselessly slaughtering his way to his target. The only organics HK-47 displayed any respect for were his masters, although he indirectly caused the death of almost all of them. He was more than willing, on several occasions while serving Revan, to dispose of anyone who annoyed the Sith Lord. HK-47 displayed several unique behavioral tendencies as a result of his programming. He had a definite sense of pride and considered himself to be superior to all organics except for Revan, who was the only person he seemed to admire—mostly for, what the droid considered, the "creative atrocities" that Revan performed as a Sith Lord.
  • Powers and Abilities:
    • Hunter Killer Droid: Thanks to his programming as an Assassin Droid, along with his many millenia of experience, HK is able to fight effectively in a stealth operation as well as in open combat. His combat programming made him a deadly combatant with a large variety of weapons, including blasters of any design as well as a multitude of droid weapons, such as flamethrowers and carbonite projectors. He also is well versed in multitude of ways of how to assassinate a target thanks to the files on his database. As a droid, while he is somewhat vulnerable to EM Ps and anything of that sort, his reinforced Durasteel plating grants him protection against plently of sources of damage that are common. Still, considering his line of work as an Assassin Droid, HK prefers not being in the frontlines.
    • Protocol Droid Programmings: As much of his original programming was based on protocol subroutines, the droid was capable of acting as a translator, voice impersonator, and a protocol droid in many other respects. He was fluent in over 6,000 forms of communication, being able to serve as a translator for many exotic languages.
  • Weapons and Equipment:
    • Disruptor Rifle: A illegal weapon in Galactic Federation space, it tore apart its victim at the molecular level, destroying their body tissues and bypassing most sorts of personal energy shields. HK can toggle it from a Sniper mode or Rifle mode for whenever he has to go in long range or close range combat.
    • All the Grenades: Varied between gas grenades, electric grenades, sonic grenades, fragmentation grenades, and god knows what else, this droid has plently of explosives by his side for whatever poor fool he has to deal with.
    • Integrated Weapon Modules: Installed on each of his wrists are a Flamethrower on his left side, and a Stun Ray on his right side. While he is not much of a fan of less than lethal methods, he knows that there are a few meatbags that are not...receptive of his methods, and it may be better to appease them.
  • Assets:
    • Credits: Even if Bounty Hunting is not this droid's favorite thing, it had gained a good supply of it from taking a few jobs involving it before his involvement on this mission.
  • Background: HK-47 was a Hunter-Killer series assassin droid and Jedi hunter constructed by the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Revan, shortly after the end of the Mandalorian Wars. In the wake of widespread destruction caused by the Mass Shadow Generator, a superweapon used during the final battle of that conflict, Revan was inspired to seek more subtle methods of defeating his enemies. HK-47 was sent throughout the galaxy on his missions and successfully assassinated countless targets whom Revan had deemed threats to galactic stability and peace. However, HK-47 was badly crippled and captured on a mission in Mandalorian space shortly before Revan himself was captured by the Jedi Order. As per protocol with Sith assassin droids prior to going on missions, HK-47's memory core was wiped of all knowledge of his original master. His memory could only be restored upon fulfilling his mission, and successfully returning to his master. As he never managed to return to his master, the automatic recall function was never activated, and he couldn't remember Revan. He went from owner to owner, many of whom he inadvertently slew personally. Eventually, he ended up on the planet Tatooine, where he was sold to and unwittingly reunited with Revan, whose memory had been erased following his capture. The droid went on to aid Revan after his return to the Jedi Order in his campaign to find and destroy the Star Forge, an ancient factory that Revan had used during his reign as the Dark Lord of the Sith. HK-47 was also instrumental in the defeat of Revan's former Sith apprentice, who had since begun utilizing the Star Forge in an attempt to conquer the Galactic Republic. Having reclaimed his memory, Revan betrayed the Republic and reclaimed his title as Dark Lord of the Sith and ruler of the Sith Empire, with HK gladly by the side of his master once again.

    • Four millennia later after the fall of the Sith Empire, HK-47 was found on the planet Mustafar, where his memory core was preserved within the computer of a derelict starship. HK-47 manipulated a group of spacefaring adventurers who discovered him, having them create a new body for him and then subsequently turning on them with the help of several battle droids. The spacers were forced to disable HK-47's new droid army as well as the factory producing them. After a fierce battle, the spacers triumphed over the droids, although HK-47 managed to escape destruction. The Assassin Droid knowing he'd need all the resources and protection he could get now that he was in an unknown era, hesitantly gave his services to the Galactic Federation, not only as a Protocol Droid...but also in his true calling as a Assassin Droid.
