In no real order, I'm probably forgetting tons:
- Homestuck has too many for me to remember. "Abscond" is one of them that comes to mind. I did know "ascend," more common among the Arc Words, before...
- ...Because Sonic Heroes taught me "ascend" and "descend."
- Futurama is how I learned "mandatory." I had to ask what it meant though.
- The Binding of Isaac: A lot of medical terms, "monstrance," "censer," "trisagion," "rune," and of course "repentance." It's also the first I've heard of the demon Belial.
- The Simpsons Hit & Run: "Hearse." For a while, because of the context you find them in (you buy one in the Halloween-themed final level and said level also has them as civilian vehicles — where other civilian vehicles are supernatural, like a witch riding a broom or a ghost rowing a boat) and the yellow flame pattern, I thought this was some kind of mythical hell vehicle or something.
- Minecraft: Through wiki/updates at the time, "tundra" and "taiga."
- Bug Fables: "Cordyceps."
- SCP Foundation: "Expunge" and "redact."
- Terraria: "Aglet," "nazar," "hallow." And indirectly, "terrarium."
- Paper Mario 64: "Oasis" and "mirage." (Goombario's comment in Chapter 2's, well, oasis area.)
Minecraft taught me "taiga" too.
For every low there is a high.If it counts, TV Tropes taught me the phrase "And how!"
Oh, I believe in yesterdayMinecraft taught me a lot of words too, like "biome", "village", "cauldron", "ore", "potion", "ingot", "golem", "ghast", "wither", and "ravine".
Currently Reading: N/AThe Bear (2022) taught me "Jewish lightning."
Mixed with Aluminum Christmas Trees - Flight Rising taught me the word "hainu"... and also taught me what a hainu even was (it's a winged dog from Japanese mythology). I thought at first that they were an original species that Flight Rising came up with.
Cold turkey's getting stale. Tonight I'm eating crow.Today’s mini crossword taught me “adage.” Doubt I’ll ever use it.
I'm almost certain that Don't Starve is where I first saw the term "Nightmare Fuel".
Currently Reading: N/APokémon taught me “feign” through curly Tatsugiri’s Pokédex entry.
I'm pretty sure Storm Hawks was where I first heard the term "marksman".
x16 And I learned "mediocre" from The Lazer Collection when I was 9. Why my family was okay with me watching that as a 9-year-old, I'll never know.

"As long as I have my comrades with me, I can do anything!" (She/Her) (Current Focus: Cleaning Hell Is That Noise misuse)I learned "feign" from A Series of Unfortunate Events.
For every low there is a high.Hetalia taught me what a codpiece is.
I learned "paralyzed" from Pokémon, although for a while as a result, I thought it had something to do with electrocution, because it was mostly electric moves that caused this status effect.
Like many, I learned "aglet" from Phineas and Ferb. I probably learned a lot of words from that show, actually.
More recently than all the above, I learned about homunculi from Zach Hadel's Author Appeal for them particularly in OneyPlays and Smiling Friends.

"Don't cry because it's over, cry because it happened."That reminds me how I was first exposed to the word "paralyzed" through the Finger Eleven song "Paralyzer", which I listened to a lot as a kid (and probably shouldn't have).
"Let's hear it for Nine Inch Nails! Woo, they're good!"For words, I once learnt about the word "Montessori" in an episode of The Brittas Empire.
I learned the words "exhibitionist" and "exposé" from ECW of all places.
Help me. I can't get it out of my head.
