I think the Thanos one is fine. Him being higher up than everyorn else, the villainous look, the minions at the bottom, help make it more than the JAFAC the other are.

Thanos is a solid keep. The main page image is better than nothing, so Keep Until Better Image Suggested. Pull everything else.

There is a poster from The Rise of Skywalker that features Palpatine looming over Rey and Kylo Ren, which could be used for the Star Wars subpage.
I actually think something along the lines of BUPKIS for all Big Bad pages would be good, since all of those page images demonstrate that it's hard to find a Big Bad image that isn't just a picture of an evildoer that relies on Fan Myopia/JAFAAC to know they're the main villain.

I don't necessarily think the Palpatine image is pull-worthy. He looks evil and is sitting on a throne, so he looks in charge even if we don't see his underlings.

tbh, if not for Endgame memes, I wouldn't know Thanos is even a villain. Considering it's Marvel, a space grandpa on an Earth background could be anyone.

It's come up in the Suggestion thread (starting from here
) that the images don't illustrate the latter points, just the former.
I believe Palpatine on the main page is a leftover from the "Star Wars is immune to JAFAAC" attitude of ten+ years ago that doesn't hold up now. I think the only salvageable one is the Marvel Cinematic Universe one (it was chosen in 2021 and features galactic stakes and smaller conflicts below him), which we could possibly promote to the main page. I move to pull everything else.
(Side note...those subpages really need to be indexed on the main page.)
