Not Tropeworthy: Like That Show But With Mecha

Like That Show, But with Mecha has several issues. It doesn't have very many wicks at all, just 44, and only 21 of those are to actual work pages: the rest are indices, JFF, or mentions in trope descriptions/potholes in examples. Since there were so few wicks, the wick check looked at all of them.

The results of the wick check weren't good: the vast majority of its wicks are either zero-context examples, random potholes, or mentions in the descriptions of other tropes. There were less than 10 correct examples, and I was being generous with those, as they had the absolute bare minimum of context.

Summary of findings:

• Correct use: 7/44
• Similar premise, but not direct recycling: 4/44
• ZCEs and random potholes: 15/44
• Other misuse: 4/44
• JFF pages, indices, and mentions in trope descriptions: 14/44

Frankly, I don't think this is salvageable. It's got the same issues as Recycled In Space did, which itself could not be salvaged and had to be made a JFF page. With how few wicks this has, I don't think it's worth doing anything but merging/redirecting to Recycled with a Gimmick

534 inbounds. Move examples that are adaptations to Recycled with a Gimmick (RecycledInSpace and Recycled Premise?) and move examples that are aren't to Instant Awesome: Just Add Mecha!, and redirect/disambig.

The crowner should be wicking to Like That Show, But with Mecha, not Like This Show But With Mecha.

Note for the future, that some examples are actual reimagining of other works, while others border on IN SPACE!, for the wick cleaning it may be difficult to tell without checking the works mentioned.

Eh, maybe we could tackle those ones here?

I'm leaning towards yes, but with a caveat: I'm kind of wondering where the division is between The Same, but More Specific and a legitimate subtrope.

I'm thinking specifically of BattleTech (2018), which gameplay-wise is basically XCOM: Enemy Unknown but with 'Mechs instead of special forces.

Subtropes have a different enough meaning or purpose, TSBMS is just the trope, but narrower.

I've done a bit of preliminary work moving things over. There wasn't an image, so LTSBWM's image got moved over to Gimmick. The examples are over in the sandbox, and there's less than 50 wicks to move/crosswick.

That doesn't appear to be the case, just based on the IP thread.

LTSBWM's image was fanart though, and I don't think we ever got permission to use it.

Doublepost, but the wicks have been cleaned apart from a page in JFF.

I took care of the on-page examples and the last wick, and I cut the Laconic subpage and moved the Image Links page to ImageLinks.Recycled With A Gimmick, so we're done here.
