So over 10 years ago or so, we used to have a newsletter called Trope Report, which covers all of the changes that happened on the wiki weekly. I have been nostalgic for it recently so I thought of it and it seemed to be a fun way to inform tropers about the changes going on around the wiki.
The sandbox for the project can be found at Sandbox.Trope Report Dummy Edition and the sandbox for ideas/plans can be found on Sandbox.Trope Report Ideas. After a new issue is published, revert the Dummy Edition back to a template using the text on Sandbox.Trope Report Template.

I think the pic is fine as-is; we don't want pure sensory overload.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI'm also good with the pic as it is.
As for remaining sections, we have Projects and everything except obscure works in Work Spotlight remaining. Whether you want to do a genuine or a joke entry is up to you.

she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportOnce everything is in we can go through and spice up the section names (if we still want to) and I'll make the description.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessSince we are lacking works, here are some of my suggestions:
New Works:
- Elden Ring: The Road to the Erdtree is a comedy manga based off the hit FromSoftware game Elden Ring. It was published by Kodansha and later released in English by Yen Press. The story follows a hero named Aseo as he goes on a journey to the titular Erdtree. Despite the original game's bleak setting, Road to the Erdtree delights itself in having comedic moments throughout all the chaos. The page created back in March this year, so this page deserves more love and crosswicks.
Obscure works:
- Meet It's Happy Bunny! He is a mascot created by Jim Benton (of Dear Dumb Diary and Franny K. Stein) and in these totally aspirational adverts, where he insults you and make crude remarks. While these are funny, the page unfortunately doesn't have much going for it.
Pages needing help:
- Kazohinia is a novel by Hungarain author Sándor Szathmári and written as a sequel to Gulliver's Travels. It is intended as a commentary to society and a promotion of Marxism. However, that is the only things that the description can tell us. Giving the page more tropes is also appreciated.
Pages Needung Help is already filled. We'll have to save that for next month.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportWow, the 24th already? But we just started! We really gotta pick up the pace you guys. Anyhow, you know the drill.
Leads
- Blofeld Ploy: As always, Kosha's art is cool. However, I fear it might be a bit too complex (that, and I talked about troper-made pics to death).
- Reader-Insert Fic: In contrast, this pic is simpler and funnier but the art isn't as good. Again, I have to consider if I want to do another troper-made pic. This one's probably the one I'll go with because it can lead to a very funny entry (especially since we're doing April Fools').
- Troubled Teen: And if I don't do a troper-made pic... this one's my favorite. I feel like I like this one less than I should; it's like there's one bit I don't "get" that harms the pic for me. I'll think about it.
Honorable mentions
- Not A Party Person (TLP link): It made me want to check out the animation, which is something; but otherwise I think this one's just okay. Good use of color at least.
- Life Imitates Art: This one's gives me stuff to write about, but the pic itself is just fine.
- Flame War: The caption's better than the image. Kosha strikes again!
- Underworld River and Houseboat Hero: Cool art, but that's about it.
- A Light in the Distance: Good composition.
- Format-Specific Joke: Funny.
- Overlord Jr.: Bowser best dad <3

I'd like to apologize for all this.Double post: I'm still thinking of ways to YouTube-ify the section names. I got a funny one for Changelog, which is "tv tropes is changing (why i'm leaving the website forever)". For Work Spotlight, I wanna do a WatchMojo-style title, such as "Top 10 Staircase Scenes in Movies" or another overly-specific Top 10.
Also, I just realized we never changed Trope Reporter's bio, so he's been stuck with the "resolution" pun three months in a row.
I'd like to apologize for all this.I feel Blofeld Ploy is the strongest of the contenders. The other two seem like they're just there.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportActually, I'm thinking of doing Reader-Insert Fic and instead of reviewing the image I use the section to write the fic myself.
I'd like to apologize for all this."That's odd", you think to yourself, "I hope none of my posts got thumped". Instead, you find in a Fate Worse than Death: you just got yourself suspended. Granted, you do recall that you sent another troper some death threats for claiming that Code Geass isn't as good as Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, but he was clearly wrong and it was very important for you to let him know how wrong he was!!!
(Now you might be thinking to yourself, "wait a minute, this loser sounds nothing like me!" Well shhhhhh! It's all just pretext for the good part coming up...)
And so you march off (virtually, of course) to the Edit banned thread to demand the mods un-suspend you. But while you wait for your (somewhat not not insincere) apology, you notice another user is also waiting for her apology to be appealed.
Why, it's... Trope-tan???? The Trope-tan, the famous face of TV Tropes? Surely that cannot be her; Trope-tan is a Magical Girl with a 100% Heroism Rating, her Innocent Blue Eyes are a tell-tale sign that she would never do something that would lead to her being banned. You're curious, and you're already starting to get reminded of how, in television, this is usually the perfect opportunity to bond with her, so you decide to post another message.
"Hey trope-tan, you'r cute. Why are you suspended?"
You refresh the page several times, waiting for her to reply. Instead, after ten minutes, you find your post thumped, with a mod message below it reading "Do not use the Edit Banned thread as a hook-up app." You barely resist the urge to throw your computer out the window in anger.
Love it
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI'll try to get more done, then.
What about the section names? Any help there?

I'd like to apologize for all this.I can try to pitch some later ~
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessOkay, so we now need a work that needs a page, a non-English work, a Creator, and a project.
For non-English, I may do The Adventures of Mikuru Asahina (a Show Within a Show).
As for creators, I'm tempted to pitch Rick Astley.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportBoth sound cool to me
I'm tempted to make a William And Sly entry for Works Needing Pages (the first 2 were Flash games, the 3rd is a Video Game 3D Leap that's been on Steam for about a month), not sure yet if I can think of a more joke-y work to use instead.
It'll be at least 24 hours before I make it though (I've got some submissions and tests to do).
No child should have to think of selling medication for food. Are you afraid?Oh, I didn't realize we didn't have that.
I'll see if I plug something myself.
I'd like to apologize for all this.- The Adventures of Mikuru Asahina is an independent film directed by Haruhi Suzumiya. It revilves around the titular battle waitress from the future, Mikuru Asahina, who must protect an Ordinary High-School Student, Itsuki Koizumi, while Yuki Nagato, an alien witch, seeks to control him. With a troperrific plot, it's a surprise it has so little traction on the wiki.
- Who never gives you up, lets you down, runs around and deserts you? Who never makes you cry, say goodbye, tells lies and hurts you? It's Rick Astley, a British musician known for making airwaves in The '80s. One song, "Never Gonna Give You Up", became a worldwide phenomenon in the mid-'00s thanks to some internet users wanting to share his work to the masses.

she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportFeel like plugging The Prettiest Platypus for Works That Need a Page.
Also, should we mention the Easily Forgiven issue brought up here?
Edited by Coachpill on Mar 28th 2024 at 3:12:50 PM
Silver and gold, silver and goldWe don't cover already TRS'd items that still have old names in use. That matter goes elsewhere, such as here.
As for The Prettiest Platypus, go for it.
