time for my first ever necro - this from The Nostalgia Critic under fridge horror immediately stuck out to me:

• The Chick/Critic G-Rated Sex ending in "Now you're pregnant" in FernGully: The Last Rainforest is hilarious and shippy, but isn't it also rape? After she says it, he's screaming, crying and trying to get away while she's grinning and holding onto him tight.
  • And as a result, the also wonderfully shippy moment of her chloroforming then happily fondling him gets a little bit creepier. Especially as there's a heavy implication in the next episode that she's done this before (as when he sees the rag he instantly knows who did it) and she repeats the I Have You Now, My Pretty face when she's tied up Todd later on.

i'm bad at detecting tone thru text and i'm not familiar with the original vid, but saying something might be implied rape and then calling it shippy seems super iffy to me. even if it is technically right i feel like there's a better way to phrase it, so any advice on how/whether to change it?

I think it might count as an example though I personally recommend cutting the "also wonderfully shippy" phrase because I agree that that's creepy.

It's probably valid Fridge Horror (the scene is a one-off gag making fun of what may not even be G-Rated Sex in context, it's not like anything actually happens to the characters, but you can still be creeped out if you overthink it) but yeah cut the gushing. A lot of these pages have weird rape fetishization for some reason. I don't even remember her fondling him after she chloroforms him (I assume this is the Bratz review?) but who knows, old TGWTG does have Black Comedy Rape.

FWIW calling it "shippy" isn't inaccurate (it was a Masochism Tango thing in canon) but again the gushing can be cut.

I'm wondering if this Damned by Faint Praise entry can be torched. These entries are all only troping opinions as far as I can tell.

• Damned by Faint Praise:
  • When referring to Anastasia, he says it's unfair to call it a cheap Disney knockoff, when it's actually an expensive Disney knockoff.
  • In his review of Steel, he had the following to say about Shaquille O'Neal's acting:
    "But give him some credit, though. He's tall."
  • He feels really bad once he's forced to praise Jim Carrey's Grinch for at least being an effective translation compared to Mike Myers' The Cat in the Hat.
  • Critic had some for the Mortal Kombat movie by comparison after watching Mortal Kombat: Annihilation:
    Nostalgia Critic: Does this make Mortal Kombat a good movie? No. But it certainly makes it a movie, which is more than I can say for this pigshit.
  • When reviewing the Digimon movie, he grudgingly admits that at least Pokémon: The First Movie had a moral; even if it was poorly handled.
  • Devil: Coming from Shyamalan, his thinking that Critic's idea of the janitor as the bad guy is a good twist doesn't exactly mean much.
  • In "The WORST Christmas Special Ever" he notes that even Santa Claus Conquers the Martians showed the right type of bear living in the Arctic.
  • In Mamma Mia!, the only nice thing he can say about Meryl Streep singing "Winner Takes It All" is that she looks pretty.
  • In Old vs New Spider-Man, Hyper gets upset when she can only defend MJ with "she has pretty hair".

There's also this Damsel Scrappy entry which reads like it's just noting a top ten (eleven) list, so not sure what should be done with that.

CSP Cleanup Thread | All that I ask for ... is diamonds and dance floors

So I don't know if this belongs on a different cleanup, but Doug Walker is formatted very oddly. It seems odd to list all of the characters he portrayed if some of them are only one-off characters from Nostalgia Critic or sketchs.

I think most of those are valid as they fit the spirit of the trope's joke, and they are delivered as jokes, not just opinions. The Shyamalan example is more Damned By a Fool's Praise though.

Given we have a NC character page for Doug's characters on NC, I think we can just keep those who aren't NC side characters, like Donnie Dupre and Ask That Guy. But wouldn't listing his projects and various other roles be more accurate formatting for a Creator page?

I noticed that the sandboxes linked in the opening post haven’t had any non wick cleaning edits in a few years. Is there anything else to do with those?

I guess if anybody else wants to look them over and comment, but I guess maybe it'd be enough to just remove misuse as needed? Still a lot of misuse and ambiguous misuse is all.

its gone! forgot to mention there was an actual Memetic Molester entry as a subbullet under it, so i just kept it (albeit there is some zce on it but i also don't have context for it, might check up on it later because im busy irl rn)

edit: i also checked who added this just in case i should send some kind of notifier about shoehorning and it turns out it was added in 2011 so i won't bother

Sandbox.The Nostalgia Critic Nightmare Fuel Cleanup hasn’t had any non-wick cleaning edits since 2021. Do we still need it?

I was probably too obsessively thorough at the time. Maybe it'll be better to just actually clean up the NF page itself.
