Since we're in the process of dewicking Heroic Albino to prepare for a cut, should we follow suit with this as well?
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportEvil Albino's description at least suggests that this is a trope, unlike Heroic Albino, although I imagine Evil Albino relies on a level of author's intent to determine which examples are intentional uses of the trope or not.
Contains 20% less fat than the leading value brand!Evil Albino may also be redundant with tropes such as White Hair, Black Heart, Red Eyes, Take Warning, and Light Is Not Good.
You might be right.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass. That makes sense.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessWell, as I mention in the Heroic Albino thread, in works where unusual colourings are a staple, "special" hair/eye colours probably don't mean anything, even if these particular colourings have tropeworthy associations.
Like, if the story features 10 characters with white hair, and one of them happens to be a villain, White Hair, Black Heart probably doesn't apply to them, since there's no real correlation between that particular physical trait (white hair) and their supposed symbolism / alignment (being evil). Similarly, just because Albinos have physical traits that are often associated with evil (White Hair, Black Heart, Undeathly Pallor, Red Eyes, Take Warning, etc.), doesn't mean that every villainous characters that have typically-albinic traits fit the trope.
Anyway, a lot of the Heroic Albino wicks I dealt with—the ones that actually allude to albinos—often goes like: "this character is feared and believed to be evil/dangerous because of their albinism, but turns out to be a good person." The first part of that definition probably alludes to Evil Albino, which the Heroic Albino supposedly tries to subvert.
So maybe we can create a new trope for Albinos Are Freaks, and that the distrust against the albino characters may or may not be justified (Evil Albino refers to the former, Heroic Albino to the latter). This way, we know that the character's albinism is an intentional design element, and not merely a random combination of colours that the creators just happen to use for that particular character.

That sounds like a good idea!

Works for me.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessCount me in.
Contains 20% less fat than the leading value brand!Lets do it.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."I uhh would make the title substantially less pejorative and judgmental.
Well, I based the name on Loners Are Freaks and similar tropes. The title reflects in-universe perception of such characters and is in no way meant to judge real-life people with the condition
Yeah, what would you suggest otherwise? This is a trope, not a statement on reality...
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure Pureness...So would Evil Albino and Heroic Albino become redirects to the hypothetical Albinos Are Freaks (Albinos Are Weird?), or would they just get cut entirely?
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢Well, I don't mind keeping their names, since they do actually have tropable ideas behind them (unlike some other tropes that are merely pothole magnets), and both pages have lots of inbounds.
Keep as redirects
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."So do we have enough consensus to proceed with @7? Or do we need to formalize it with a single-prop crowner or something?
I think a crowner would be a good idea, especially since they're working again.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Okay, here's the crowner.
Crowner hooked.
Been about a week and the crowner is a unanimous "yes". Is it time to call it and get started?
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢Yep, good enough. Let's go.

Crown Description:
Evil Albino and Heroic Albino have been misused to refer to any character with albinic traits (pale skin, white hair, red eyes) regardless of alignment, or whether the characters are actually meant to be albino in the first place.
As requested in the Heroic Albino TRS thread, I did a wick check for its counterpart, Evil Albino. The results were... not good.
Out of 50 wicks, 11 were alright, 9 explain one half of the example while leaving out the other, 5 are misused, and the rest are ZCEs. Better than Heroic Albino, but not by much.
