See here for Nightmare Fuel, which has frequent enough problems to deserve a thread of its own.
A while ago, I made a thread for cleaning up Nightmare Fuel pages, since they tend to attract all sorts of gushing about anything vaguely unsettling, as well as violations of Example Indentation and the Spoiler Policy among other problems. Well, other Moments pages have similar issues, though to a slightly lesser extent, so they may as well have a cleanup thread too.
"Moments" reactions should:
- Be free of spoiler tags, in accordance with the Spoilers Off policy which states that:
Fridge, Headscratchers, and the various Moments subpages (Tear Jerker, Moment of Awesome, etc.) are for post-viewing discussions. Spoiler tagging there defeats the purpose of the articles. You shouldn't be going there if you are worried about them.
- Be based on things that actually have happened, not things that could happen, will happen, or might have happened. Speculation belongs only on the Wild Mass Guessing pages.
- Have affected the writer of the entry themselves. If you don't find something funny or sad, let someone who did add it to Funny Moments or Tear Jerker.
- Elicit a strong reaction. Not every single time a character accomplishes something is an Awesome Moment, not every attempt at comedy is a Funny Moment, not every time someone does something nice is a Heartwarming Moment, and not every unhappy event is a Tear Jerker.
- Explain why they're so awesome/funny/sad: Zero Context Examples aren't allowed on this wiki. Your description should allow anyone to understand your reaction.

I know. I went to Ask The Tropers and the very awesome Tabs fixed it. I put it in Teark Jerker lol.

she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportFunny.Other and Funny.Real Life both have "Politics" sections. Which page should keep it?
Presumably the latter.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.Found on YMMV.The Nativity Story:
- Moment of Awesome and Heartwarming Moments: The entire climax depicting Jesus' birth (which will cause tears of the joyful kind) and the familiar Nativity scene we're all familiar with.
- After the miraculous birth of John the Baptist to Zechariah and Elizabeth (who was believed to be too old to carry a child safely), Mary witnesses them telling the baby the story of Elijah hearing the Voice of God not as an earthquake or a fire but as a "small, soft voice" and smiles at them while stroking her rounding stomach.
The bad indentation is newer but the combined bullet predates the history. Which one should this go under, if either?
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessThere's this example on Funny.Quinton Reviews:
- Although the Jennette McCurdy portion of the video is mostly played seriously, there's a brief moment of levity during one scene where Jennette's boyfriend at the time (who had become a born-again Christian earlier on in the book) suddenly reveals that he believes that he's a reincarnation of Jesus Christ. Quinton's "WTF?" expression at that says it all.
Ignoring the misuse of spoiler text on a moments page, I'm kind of uncomfortable listing this here because it's mostly referring to a real-world incident, specifically somebody's schizophrenic delusion, as funny. But I also know that Funny/ isn't technically NRLEP, and this is subjective, as Quinton does sort of play it as a funny out-of-nowhere moment (so does the memoir, to an extent). So I guess it isn't technically against the rules?

I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe. As explained in the edit reason for my most recent edit, Funny. The Lego Movie has problems with Natter, Fan Myopia and Example Indentation. There's also a "Meta/Out Of Canon" folder for some reason. I fixed as much as I could in a short space of time, but assistance would be appreciated for what's left.
EDIT: Wrong namespace.

"As long as I have my comrades with me, I can do anything!" (She/Her) (Current Focus: Cleaning Hell Is That Noise misuse)I already brought this one up but never got another response except ONE troper that was either War Jay or mightymewtron but I cant do anything with just one response I need consensus.
- One episode of the weird little Canadian children's program Today's Special, had, through a convoluted series of events, each of the characters given one wish. Jeff, a mannequin who comes to life with a magical hat that does not work outside the store (just stay with us here), naturally wants to use his wish to become a real person and finally get to explore the world outside the store. Sadly, because of another convoluted series of events where the other characters waste their wishes without thinking (think of the fairy tale where they say things like "I wish that sausage was stuck to the end of your nose" and you have the idea), Jeff must now use his wish to help his friends. There is a gut-wrenching moment where he hesitates before finally saying "Okay, I wish everyone was back to normal." Then he walks off by himself and the last shot shows him staring out the store's big display window. That's a pretty haunting Downer Ending for something aimed at five-year-olds, isn't it?
To me, the only bad part is that MEGA SMUG final line but mighty War Jay objected to almost the entirety of the example and it was shoddy period.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.I vaguely remember reading it though I may not have been the one to respond. Still, I think it's definitely kind of off. It may keep but more emphasis should be placed on the situation with Jeff, and not just a (somewhat whiny) telling of events.

Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessAre things that aren't exactly part of the main work, but are still included somewhere in there (such as deleted scenes, cast interviews, outtakes, and other things that could be included in the extra features of a DVD, for example) allowed to be listed on Moments pages?
Cold turkey's getting stale. Tonight I'm eating crow.Yes, bonus material is allowed on Moments pages, as it is published alongside the work and considered adjacent to the work.
Alright, that makes sense — I figured that it was allowed, but I thought I'd check.
Cold turkey's getting stale. Tonight I'm eating crow. Please anyone help with rewording that example I brought, I brought it before and its been there years without actual correction.
Actually, no. We dont trope What Could Have Been outside the confines of that trope, if something is a working version, we cant add it to Tear Jerker for example.

Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.I know there's some disagreement, and probably would belong in a different thread, but personally I think officially-released bonus material should be troped, especially if it's not just cut material but supplemental features on a DVD.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I know and I actually agree with you War Jay.... eerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... mewtron! But the problem is that we go by what is the CURRENT policy and this is not the thread to even discuss changing policy.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here. Are you sure? I think the current policy lines up with what everyone else is saying. Officially released material could still qualify for things, even if it was cut from the original work.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI forget where it was said, but I think word of mod is to not list bonus material and Deleted Scenes on the same page as the work (something I personally don't agree with if the scene has been released in a fully-finished form as opposed to a script or animatic, but whatever). But since Moments pages can separate supplemental material in folders, I'd say it's okay. Just don't list any real-life stuff on Nightmare Fuel or Tear Jerker.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I mean, yeah keep in mind we're discussing moments specifically. Not troping the deleted material as if it's part of the actual work, but posting opinions on it in the designated area.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessOmg the real deal! Anyway, if that is the case then some troper, who I wont name... because I dont know their name, kept removing working versions of Tear Jerker, like Zootopia's early versions and the same goes for Coco's working versions...
...Unless I am dumb and that is not what we are discussing?
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.If they keep doing it, maybe ask on ATT if it's an issue. You can link to the history to find their name.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.I will try and do just that. I dont make any promises, I am not that good at using the new Edit History. So If I am not able I ask anyone kindly to Take my sword- errrr- my cause.
EDIT: It's Kuruni, Kuruni is the one who keeps removing those moments.

Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here. From YMMV.CHVRCHES:
- Moment of Awesome: Lauren Mayberry calling out 4chan for their misogynist comments about her after the music video for "Leave a Trace" was posted on the internet forum, saying "Dear anyone who thinks misogyny isn't real. It is and this is what it looks like." Damn!
- Even more awesome is that her bandmates came to her defence, saying "PSA: apparently wet hair makes you a 'slut'. Nice work, 4chan / humanity."
- Not from Mayberry herself, but this article from Gigwise also certainly counts, as it utterly dismantles the arguments that the "Leave a Trace" video features Three Minutes of Writhing...even though the "sexual" content is practically nonexistent and the "writhing" in question is far tamer than many similar videos these days.
- Her appearance on Channel 4 News that effectively put the fiasco to bed. Her calm and collected performance during the interview is really what sells it.
It may be awesome, but it's real people tackling real misogyny. Not part of the work.
Is there any reason I shouldn't cut this?
Yeah, that definitely doesn't seem like part of the work. I think it's safe to cut.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.I have questions about these from Heartwarming. The Angry Video Game Nerd:
- Episode 187: When the Nerd realized that the Bartman vs Radioactive Man game was made by Acclaim, which acquired LJN in that time, he lamented that "Why couldn't it have been Konami??", citing that they made good Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games and The Simpsons Arcade game. Considering Konami's down in the dumps status at the date of the video creation, it shows that the Nerd has a good sense to differentiate the past Konami (which was respected and made kick ass games, especially some licensed ones) and the more modern Konami (which was considered insulting to gamers), and unashamedly showed adoration to it.note
And later on under a separate subbullet:
- And similarly with the piece at Episode 187, James does not let the issue/controversy with Konami ruin his memories of Contra. No matter the ups and downs Konami had today, James' memory with Contra will stay untainted.
Since he doesn’t even mention modern Konami and its issues in the episodes, does this count as a moment in his work?
It's not deleted; it's just got a slight brushup for grammar.
