The details are quite small and the text is unreadable. I can sort of infer which stereotypes some of them are supposed to represent (top left guy is an army man, Mexican guy has something to do with native tribes, etc). but the others are non-indicative (a Brazilian...lizard man?), not to mention the flags (the other prominent detail besides names) don't add much. All in all, I think we can do better.

Here is a higher-res, complete version of the current, although I don't know if there's any way to crop it that would be good at wiki size. So I'd like to field a couple more suggestions, both of the "subculture" variety: the Breakfast Club,Total Drama Action (possibly cropped to 8ish people).

I'm not crazy about the SF 2 pic at all. The Breakfast Club pic could work as long as it resizes well, and we could possibly make a collage from the TD pic.

Maybe some of the cast from the Wii Punch Out game [1]. Take some of the individual characters and insert a flag icon to better convey the international aspect.

Or a similar thing with Hetalia [2]

1.2 (from The Breakfast Club) looks like the best replacement.

Sorry to tell it but the Breakfast Club is not clear enough, especially for those who haven't see the movie (I have but I can imagine how is not too), 1.2 it's a little better on that regard.

I haven't seen Breakfast Club, but the characters look pretty stereotypical and the labels do the rest. [tup]

I don't know about Breakfast... It's more like Five-Man Band. Not exactly, but you know what I mean. I'm not seeing the stereotypes.

This trope says it can have a character who is "normal," and with Breakfast, I see "the Brain" guy as that normal character. Moreover, I don't know exactly what stereotypes they're supposed to be, but the names are pretty indicative and their clothing styles match pretty much exactly what I would expect of "Princess" or "Athlete" etc.

Also, I get the FMB vibe, but the only character that could be "The Leader" or "The Hero" is the character labeled as "the basket case," so that distances this from that, I think.

Thing is, if we depend on labels we can have any kind of picture with five characters on it for that matter.

The only stereotype I get from the image is the athlete as he has sports' attire, other than that, why is Judd Nelson's character a criminal? because he's smoking? why is Sheedy's character the Basket Case? she looks more like goth. And why is Ringwald the princess? There's nothing on her looks that says she's rich and spoiled.

[up]I think smoking + aggressive expression help sell "criminal" (if not at least some sort of punk outcast), and I think pink clothing + an "I don't want to be here" expression help sell "princess."

Since this has hit the bottom of the page a couple times, I've made a crowner; hollering for a hook. Added a "no image for now" option as well.

On a positive note I do think the example from Total Drama works perfectly.

It's rather texty by itself, I don't think it needs one.
