Of all of those, I think I like the Harry Potter one best, but I'd swap the panel of Voldemort with one of him holding up the Elder Wand.

Spiral out, keep going.I'm pretty sure I managed to avoid Harry Potter spoilers for more than a year after that installment came out. (Either that or which spoilers to believe were lost in the noise... I'm not sure which anymore.) Probably could have held out for even longer, had I not gotten around to binge-watching the whole series just the next summer.
That said, if we're going to go with that example, the last two screenshots are plenty. I'll look into finding alternative examples later on today, though.
EDIT: Since the Lord Beckett example was brought up in the Going Down with the Ship thread, may as well re-use the example I mentioned there...

I just got spoiled for Harry Potter.
...sorry about that.
Well, let's avoid the Harry Potter example, then.
How many of the images aren't spoilers? The first three of OP are decent, but kinda looks like spoilery.
Check out my fanfiction!I did some captures from Battle For Terra and made this. I'm not sure if his expression is more dignified or resigned, but I thought it might be some of both. I can try to capture him earlier in the scene where he has his eyes open more, if that might improve the sequence.
For a caption, I was thinking of the Biblical quote: "Greater love hath no man than this: That he should lay down his life for a friend." It's highly appropriate to the scene.
I'm sorry about the top/bottom cropping but that's all I could find on YT since I don't have my own copy. I'm guessing it was cropped to avoid copyright problems.
In case anyone is wondering, the plot of Battle For Terra is very similar to Avatar, but with more focus on the story instead of on the special effects. It's only an hour long, but worth watching at least once.

Absent-minded professor and Neverwinter Nights DMOf the suggestions in OP, I think the Inglorious Basterds one is the clearest. The text is too small in the Darth Vader example, Beckett looks more like Nerves of Steel and Harry Potter is a definite spoiler. I haven't seen Inglorious Basterds, though, so I wouldn't know how spoilery it is
Other suggestions: The death of Ultraman◊ from Crisis on Infinite Earths, Enjolras's death from the 2012 Les Mis film.
I like the second image
I'll need to see a 350 pixel wide version of that before I decide what to make of it.
I also oppose a seppuku image, though for reasons of trope overlap. I'm also downvoting Lord Beckett for that reason, which is a better fit for Going Down with the Ship.
Not really a fan of the other suggestions either. Most of them are unclear on either the "dignity" or "death" part. For instance, not being familiar with Ultraman, I thought he was flying through a portal at first, while Les Miserables looks more like an arrest.

You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"That does help the death part get across.
Eh, even zoomed in it doesn't make abundantly clear that he knows he's about to die. He could be thinking "okay, let's just co-operate with these people and maybe we'll survive."
It's okay, but I would presume there's better out there. I think we should keep looking for another while yet. I'll continue the search myself later on today...

What are the thoughts on images in 3, particularly the second one?

Spiral out, keep going. Can't tell what's going on in it.
EDIT: Specific examples of this I'm familiar with are hard to find. Would it be spoilerish to use Ducard's death from Batman Begins, the doctor's death from Pans Labyrinth, or Gus Fring's death from Breaking Bad? note

Gus Fring's death is a major spoiler. I don't know if the Pan's Labyrinth and Batman Begins example could work.

I'm not sure the "death" is particularly clear in those shots. My favorite suggestion thus far is 3.1 actually.
Maybe something similar in the death of Archimedes? [1]◊
I don't know about that one since he does look slightly terrified
Does the "it's a Death Trope, so the spoilers are unmarked" include spoilery images?
Spiral out, keep going. That's part of the reason I was suggesting the seppuku images, along with its inherent focus on the trope.
I originally suggested an image in the suggestion thread but it overlapped too much on Going Down with the Ship. I have some alternate suggestions along with the original suggestions. I'm gonna try to find some more image suggestions
