Best premiere so far!
The first episode covered all of the manga I've read. By and large, I think it's an improvement— flows better and doesn't feel as mean
The long-awaited Etrian Odyssey anime.
It's so, so cool. I started reading the manga too. On top of the production quality being great so far, the world setting is really interesting and Reg and Riko are great. Glad they didn't show the tying up naked scene.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.Man as someone whose read the manga I'm am beyond hype for the new anime
especially for the shocking swerves, twists, and turns in store

Warrior to the very end! My tumblr, dood!I just got a really good feeling from the premiere, to be honest. I'm not really sure I could pinpoint why, exactly, but it's beautifully animated, set in one heck of an adventure setting, and I can tell things are going to go really badly.
Kind of reminds me of Cave Story, in a good way. Not that there are many bad ways to be similar to Cave Story.
It's been fun.The gigant pit really makes the imagination going. I really wonder what's down there at the bottom.
...Hell?
Watch SymphogearHehehehe....... just wait... it's something, alright...
Warrior to the very end! My tumblr, dood! This was certainly a beautiful opener. Cute and engaging, but with a little tinge of grim at the same time. The opening song was wonderful too.
Also, it may be the first time I see an anime with... just white credits over black, like in a film.
It happens in Symphogear from time to time.
Re Zero had Blood red credits over a depressing image like in a classic tragedy film, too, in episode 15.
Watch SymphogearExcellent start. Striking animation, an interesting premise, lots of mystery with Reg, the sketchy orphanage, and of course the Abyss. How dark will this treasure hunt get? No idea, but but I suspect very. I think the best part was how they introduced the world and the characters skillfully in a way that made me want more with minimal exposition to drag down the pacing.
@Lyendith: That's not too uncommon for a first episode. I expect it's more that they don't have the full ED animation finished just yet.
It's been fun.Reg looks a lot like ICO. Must be the helmet.
Watch SymphogearThis is going to be a wild ride. I really hope we get to see some of the coolest characters this series has to offer.
"When I was alive, I was a tender soul. Now, I am tenderloin." -Nanako (Senryuu Shoujo)From what I hear, the manga is a legit horror series. So much so that Junji Ito is nothing compared to it.
Considering the anime has the director of Monster and the scriptwriter of Now and Then, Here and There attached to it.....
Watch SymphogearJunji Ito... I think Made in Abyss is more along the lines of Toriko and Hunter × Hunter. It's all about the excitement of adventuring into the unknown. Just with the caveat that, as the first episode has proven, even just skimming the Abyss should not be something children should be doing.
Side note, I love the fact that Riko's bedroom was a former execution chamber, with a great big (functional!) electric chair sitting right in the middle.

"When I was alive, I was a tender soul. Now, I am tenderloin." -Nanako (Senryuu Shoujo)Okay. This already had my attention, but if it hadn't, that would have gotten it. 0_0
Although, I didn't actually like Now And Then Here And There.
It's been mentioned in several other threads, but it's freaking great that the studio logo (Kinima Citrus) is Reg's extended arm.
EDIT: Someone uploaded screenshots for wallpers on imgur.

"When I was alive, I was a tender soul. Now, I am tenderloin." -Nanako (Senryuu Shoujo)Second episode out. I think they handled the exposition (and foreshadowing) very well, all things considered. Except with the part about the letter, the manga actually showed what was written in some of those pages, including the one with what appeared to be Reg.
I totally forgot about the talk of hostile foreign delvers, tho.
Wait, how long is this supposed to be again? They show Bondrewd (the one in the mask) and the bottom of the fifth layer in the Opening. No way are they getting that far in just one cour.
Also, that chibi porkupine monster in the ED, this is gone be fun.
Hoping that it won't be rushed, as much as I would love to see the reactions to Bondrewd

Warrior to the very end! My tumblr, dood!Episode 2. Still great. Riko is so ridiculously loveable she's entertaining even in exposition scenes.
…But I had the bad idea of thinking "hey, this artstyle reminds me of Madoka!" And now I fear episode 3.
Lots of exposition. Some of it awkwardly delivered, but at least it was interesting. Hopefully we're getting back into the action next episode.
So "Made in Abyss" refers to both our leads. Probably
Bit of an iffy translation at the end— "Naraku" is a much less vague term than "netherworld". It means "hell" (specifically, the Buddhist conception thereof)
I'm surprised they kept in how Riko talks about Reg's penis and actually showing the hang up nude punishment that she gets.
Quite ballsy.
I'll get a page started.
And its barebones, but I made it now, so edit away.

Watch Symphogear
Made In Abyss
On a distant island in the south seas is an unbelievably huge pit, a kilometer wide and stretching down to a depth that no living person knows. Adventurers and treasure hunters, called by precious relics with mysterious powers and the thrill of hunting primordial beasts, have flocked to this island, and in time a great city was founded to support them. A young girl named Riko, seeking to plumb the depths of the Abyss and chase after her vanished mother, finds a mysterious robot boy in the depths...
I thought I'd make a thread for this show, since it feels like it's gonna be something great.
I know the manga is out and pretty far in, but let's try to keep this thread to anime discussion, or at least please spoiler tag manga discussion.
It's been fun.
