Finn Jones says Season 2 of Iron Fist is imminent for announcement. Get a better showrunner and more time and it should be good.
Get.
RZA.
AS A SHOWRUNNER.
PS: Or just aim for the fences and get someone like Stephen Chow or Stephen Fung.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."RZA as showrunner would be gold.
Stephen Chow as showrunner would be GOLD.
Just get people who can write and edit properly. That's all I ask.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I would be for that. I'm just going with RZA given his involvement in the most praised episodes of Season 1 probably making him easier to grab.
Hell, Netflix cancelled The Get Down. Take that money and drive it up to Chow's house. Have RZA direct more episodes in the interim. Everyone wins.
Stephen Chow would basically be a wild dream. He's one of the hottest Hong Kong directors busy with several projects of his own and who has never directed a fully Western film, much less ran a tv show, but if there's anyone whose touch would instantly turn this show into the greatest thing ever made by men, it's him. Kung Fu Hustle has literally everything you'd expect from a Iron Fist story (supernatural Kung Fu and whatnot).
RZA is the one that is so easy it's practically handed to Marvel. He hasn't been involved in many projects lately, he loves Kung Fu movies, he has directed an episode of the show (the universally considered best episode), and Netflix clearly has an amicable relationship with him as Wu-Tang Clan is everywhere in the netflix shows.
His directorical debut was a movie called The Man With the Iron Fists about supernatural Kung Fu
C'mon Marvel. Do it. You know you want to.

"All you Fascists bound to lose."I hope the Get Down gets uncancelled.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Not when it cost $120 million.
That kind of money for 10 episodes buys you Danny vs Fin Fang Foom.
...I want that.
They should also hire some hotshots of the Kung Fu world to choreograph this. Sammo Hung (incidentally, Hung coreographed the fights in Chow's Kung Fu Hustle) and Stephen Fung, who have both worked in Into the Badlands, so they should be attainable.
After the first season being notoriously divisive to put it mildly, netflix and Marvel need to bring all weapons to bear here. Get RZA to be a showrunner, get Sammo Hung to choreograph, give David Sakurai (the guy who plays Scythe, the TAAAKE OOON ME showrunner), Hoon Lee (Lei Kung the Thunderer, Danny's mentor) and Lewis Tan (the Drunken Master Zhou Cheng) roles almost as big as if they were protagonists themselves, get James Hong as Master Khan in full Big Trouble in Little China mode, get Zack Hemsey, Anarchy Club, Shen Yi and some other stuff I'm forgetting to better demonstrate the blend of classical Chinese culture and modern western culture the show's supposed to have rather than some hip-hop and rap that doesn't fit at all with the show's themes.
And more Madam Gao.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."RZA could make the hip hop/kung-Fu movie soundtrack to work.
Also who thinks we're getting Shang-Chi this season?
I would still say that they should pouch the guy from Agents of Shield (who, btw, already did a Kung Fu show). But honestly, it won't matter much who they pick if the guy doesn't get a proper budget and enough time.
I hope the rumour is true and not just Finn Jones creating some buzz to push Netflix towards a decision. I really, really want the second season!
Can Joss Whedon do it?
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.No. And he's going to be busy with Batgirl.
I don't think that he would be the right pick for the show anyway. Jed might do a good job, but he is busy with Ao S.
Hey guys, supposedly at Comic-Con they announced that the show is getting a second season! And Misty Knight will probably be in it.
Is RZA the showrunner?
Sorry I can't find any news of a showrunner. Though I really would like to know who they are hiring so I can look up everything about them.
Hmmm, well at least he seems to be a fan of the genre. He was a producer on Sleepy Hollow, which isn't bad from what I hear. The fact that he wrote the Electra film puts the fear of God in me a little, but it's been a while since I saw the film. Its faults may not lie so much in the script as direction.
And besides, Electra was years ago. Maybe he's gotten better?
I'm probably not judging Electra fairly, because in my mind it gets sucked into the blackhole of the Daredevil film. Which I actively hate so much I think I come around to loving it in some ways. Sorry that's off topic. Yeah, that was at least a decade ago, right? He could be way better.
To be fair, the main crime of Elektra was that it was boring. Compared to the likes of Catwoman or Supergirl it was gold!
Anyway, it is always difficult to judge writer on a project like this.
Sleepy Hollow was bad. Elektra was worse.
Jesus Christ why didn't they pick RZA.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."
I just needed one more crazy martial arts thing.
