Is it possible to make a disambiguation page for works of the same type?

I (kind of) want to create a page for the deathcore/Nu Metal/whatever band of the same name but that seems to not be possible under current circumstances. Should I name it something like Attila 2008 or something?

Actually, if they're from different countries, a country identifier would be better. Like US/UK. There are two-letter codes for all countries.

In general, years work really well for disambiguating movies (which have that special release period everyone remembers when they were in theaters), well-enough for tv show, and really poorly for books and people and other things where no one will have a strong association with their release date.

Movies also get remade the most frequently, so not only is year a really good disambiguation for them, it's also the most common disambiguation we have. But that doesn't mean it's the best for non-movies! Country was actually used before year was, for cases like The Office (US) vs The Office (UK). For people, we have cases like Christopher Priest (novelist) and Christopher Priest (comics). Because who on earth is going to remember some random person's birth year?

In the case of bands, if they're both from the same country, I'd look for some other distinguishing characteristic before resorting to year. Possibly genre, or city-of-origin, or something that people are likely to remember. I wouldn't say that year won't work—it just wouldn't be the first thing I'd turn to.

Yeah, with bands, years are less useful since bands are often active for years if not decades. If possible then country works, and if that doesn't work then I usually see us go with genre.

Yeah, I'm currently working (offline) on an article for a band which shares its name with two others. And two of the bands were founded in exactly the same year! So year-disambig definitely wouldn't work for me.

Fortunately, the three bands were founded in different countries on different continents (US, Australia, and Ireland). :)

Click "More" from the bar near the top of the page, then click "Wikiword". You'll get a popup which will ask how you want the title to be displayed.
