Pretty much that.
I'm honestly wondering, given the alleged leak list for Season 2, if they were planning to put in Nero after DMC 5 was unveiled, like in Season 3, and they would use his look from that game. Of course, I honestly wonder how they would pull of Nero's look in a different artstyle.
A corpse should be left well enough alone...It's kind of weird that the game ended up being a misstep, since in terms of everything else as of late, Capcom has been knocking it out of the park.
Nobody's perfect I guess.
I'm guessing a lot of meddling from Marvel caused the game to turn out the way it did, what with the exclusive focus on characters from the MCU and all that.
It's only the fighting game division that has been a train wreck really. And honestly, i'm wondering if part of that is due to giving the budget to stuff like Resident Evil 7, DMC 5 and Monster Hunter World is the cause.
A corpse should be left well enough alone...Equivalent Exchange after all.
Funny how just a few years ago, all they pretty much had that was getting good reviews was Street Fighter and their fighting games, and now it's the exact opposite.
- Ultron-Sigma beating up everyone
One of the very few times I ever enjoy a crisis crossover villain being over powered.
- Ryu & Hulk teaming up.
Oddly one of the best pairs in the game. They're surprisingly similar, but I seriously doubt Capcom & Marvel knew that.
- Ryu & Hulking defeating Dah'ren Mohran
Hands down the best scene in the entire game. If what I've heard is correct from the MH community they went as far as to actually have them beat Dah'ren Mohran by attacking it's actual weak point.
- Haggar randomly being in A.I.Mbrella.
It just made me laugh & that's about it. Haggar randomly choking Frank was icing on the cake.
- Haggar suplexing Nemesis
- Strider finally explaining his background story
- X VS Zero (guest starring Rocket)
- Ultron & Sigma's interaction in general
- Tony & Dante's high five
- Iron Man siccing Frank on Thanos
- Dante's Devil Trigger cutscene
- X being the one to kill off Ultron-Sigma
Iron Man and Frank vs Thanos was probably my favorite part, mainly the “Go get him Frank West!” “What he’s gonna kill me!”. Dante vs Jedah was also pretty awesome ngl. Jedah in general was used amazingly, I’d never heard of him before this game but it made me really like him.
Could be nothing, but there's a new MvCI themed Panthera fight stick coming out at a later date.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireIt is interesting they'd be teasing a fighting stick for a dead game...
Hope springs eternal.
Speaking of Jedah, David Kaye has the best performance in the game. His performance manage to capture Jedah's radical mood swings & then some. I didn't think anyone could match Jedah's seiyuu performance when it comes to maniacal laughter & here we are.
Weird, but whatever. Unless Pantera is somehow the pinnacle of fight sticks, I don't see how this is such a grand prize.
He deff nailed Jedah's laugh.
And speaking of, the game's still played around so why do ppl say it's "dead"?
We can never truly eradicate the coronavirus, but we can suppress its threat like influenzaThey mean it's no longer supported by the devs.
I have no idea if that's actually the case.
This song needs more love. It's still being played but the player base is really small now. Not to mention the companies in question have seemingly disowned it.

Warrior to the very end! My tumblr, dood!On Jedah the game treated him a bit weirdly particularly him and Morrigan.
Namely her respecting him at first saying he was corrupted by the Soul Stone. When nothing Jedah did in this game was out of Character. Honestly he was nicer.
Like Jedah's evil plan in Darkstalkers is to draw all Demonic souls into himself and become a perfect supremely powerful being. Then he intends to wipe out humanity as he views it as a threat to new perfect world he plans to create.
They acted like the two are lovers, when in reality, not only did they never act as such, Jedah despises Morrigan's family for her father banishing him.
A corpse should be left well enough alone...Man does that all sound really way Out of Character.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Morrigan comes across as a bit of a kook in this game. She might see herself as Jedah's lover even if that isn't really the case. Note that Jedah never wants shows any attraction to her.

I doubt she'd see Jedah as a lover, when Jedah tried to turn her sister/other half against her. And even then, the way Morrigan talks to him doesn't invoke a kooky lover in the slightest.

A corpse should be left well enough alone...It's possible the histories of some characters varies somewhat from their original incarnation. For instance, my research on Strider Hiryu seems to indicate this whole thing about him reincarnarting over and over again to fight Grandmaster Meio is not part of his original series. So if we assume the Hiryu in this game isn't the Hiryu from the original Strider series, then the Morrigan of this game isn't the one from the original Darkstalkers universe but one from 'a' Darkstalkers universe and thus her history with Jedah is different in some ways (note she never mentions Lilith).
Alternatively, Morrigan was pretty okay with Ghost Rider beating her so maybe she's just not one to hold grudges.

I think it's just bad writing, and a lack of care for series accuracy(Which you kind of want in a crossover). If it was this whole stand in character narrative, they did a terrible job conveying it.

A corpse should be left well enough alone...I don't want to say something nasty to the writer like "your writing is bad and you should feel bad," but I can't shake the feeling that they probably should've gotten someone else as a writer.
That much OOC writing is kinda...cringe-inducing. I mean, I'm not going to pretend I know everything about Darkstalkers (I don't), but I would've at least read up on the lore of that series just to get a feel about all the characters.
(Or I'd just get Ian Flynn, but maybe I'm relying on him too much... )

Hiryu having thousands of years feud is actually right, as Strider 2 takes place about 2000 years after Strider 1.
We can never truly eradicate the coronavirus, but we can suppress its threat like influenza
That's assuming that Flynn has a good feel on the characters to begin with. I feel like people severely underestimate these Crisis Crossover events. There's a reason why people are so burnt out by these events. Not that I doubt Flynn's capabilities after reading Sonic the Hedgehog/Mega Man: Worlds Collide but after reading Worlds Unite, I'm not exactly too confident either. Then again there were a lot of Executive Meddling from what I can tell.
This is the only game that supports Hiryu being reincarnated for sole purpose of killing Grandmaster Meio. In Strider 2 it was only imply that he was the same Hiryu from Strider 1 but only Meio only speculated that in the ending.
Regarding Morrigan's Out of Character moment, it's not entirely hard to believe that's Lilith speaking through Morrigan regarding Jedah. I recall that apparently Jedah's time being dead that he views above of having any emotional. It's also heavily imply that's also why Jedah is so Ax-Crazy too so there's that. I also don't recall Morrigan having any grudges against Jedah at the time. If she has any personal beef with anyone it's usually Demtri & even then she doesn't even take that seriously. I couldn't really find any concrete info other than what I've read on other wiki so I got nothing backing up these claims. Granted, I also recall that eventually Lilith discovers Jedah's true plans & betrayed him. Apparently after re-uniting with Lilith, Morrigan went on to defeat Jedah.
So what's you guys' favorite moment from story mode?
Mine is Dante beating Jedah.
