He's kinda handy to have around when you're just travelling the overworld (since he offers a nice distraction when you encounter groups of mooks), but I wouldn't consider him that powerful. He's basically useless against Lynels and boss-type enemies.

Wolf Link is a nice addition and companion to have, but he's hardly Game Breaking or really do any more than be a convenience.

Same with Epona (who is actually used in speedruns to mitigate horse rng)

I've got a horse that has better stats a long time ago, so Epona isnt' a good investment for me. I do have the Guardian Stalker amibo tho. It's so cool, it glows under black light. I love it

What are Epona's stats like? I don't have any amiibos.

I did the Yiga Hideout quest again yesterday. I had no idea there were that many Koroks in the valley leading up to their base. Most of them were of the "offer a fruit to a statue" type, requiring bananas, of course. But I noticed that their offering dishes were empty. 'Cause normally if there's a row of statues with dishes, some will have fruit in them already, right? And I thought, does this mean the Yiga Clan steals bananas from statues/Koroks?

I started playing the game again yesterday, I never actually beat it and I'm long overdue.

And... [up]even after being away for so long I'm not having any issues finding more Koroks by just running around, guess that's the good thing about them being so numerous.
I think I already have most of the ones in that canyon area, but I'll check later~

[up][up] Four across the board, IIRC.

Also, given that not everyone can see the Koroks, I'm thinking the Yiga Clan just think that these little offering bowls just magically respawn banana bunches every so often, and just take them without questioning it.

Well sure, my point is that these statues/offerings seem to refer to some kind of folk religion in Hyrule. So it seems sacrilegious (or disrespectful) to take them.

Except I take them every time, because I'm the Hero of Hyrule and above such petty concerns. evil grin

They're making the offerings in exchange for protection, which you of course are providing XD

I'm imagining Link coming across the first set of statues and thinking, "Oh, I better offer an apple too." Then a Korok appears and he's like, "Wait, this wasn't about [spirit/ancestor thing]? It's Koroks?" And from that moment on he steals the fruit.

For some reason, it never occurred to me to MAKE an offering until I had beaten Ganon twice and had collected all the shrines and everything. And then I had a BSOD moment because it meant I had to go back to every last one of these mother******s and make a deposit. I'd just been treating them as a free refueling station XD

What always gets me is that skeletons are apparently water-soluble.

It's apparently also possible to get Stal skulls to achieve immortality by means of electric shock therapy, too. Evidently, sunlight doesn't kill them if they're in the middle of their 'shocked by electricity' animation, and there's an exploit by which you can arrange for this to continuously happen to them.

As of today, I have finally beaten Breath of the Wild (Well, apparently I missed three sidequests and somehow missed two shrine quests despite finding every shrine. Oh, and I need one more star fragment to fully upgrade the last bit of Ancient Armour). Final boss was a bit underwhelming, but overall, that was an impressive experience.

Freaking Korok altars, man. I remember on one occasion I came across one and left an apple, but nothing happened. I turned around and there was Canthaca, having just eaten two. Stupid horse. (Canthaca is what I called the white horse). Up to then, I had no idea you could take the offerings from the statues.

The shrine quests are supposed to be marked as completed even if you find the shrines before you find the quest. Presumably you hit a glitch.

The biggest problem with the final boss is that if you play the game the way you're supposed to, he's kind of underwhelming. Maybe they should have saved the Boss Rush for the true end, like maybe they could say that since you banished the Blights from the Divine Beasts, they're free to help Ganon in the final battle. Or something. I dunno.

Did you get the DLC?

As far as I've seen, the shrine quests don't get marked as completed if you never even got them in your journal in the first place. There were a few times I completed a shrine before activating the quest for it, and when I talked to the person or read the tablet that activated the quest it would automatically complete right afterwards.

I get thematically why the actual fight with Calamity Ganon was a bit underwhelming... that said, yeah, it would have been nice if the Final Boss was more intense than, say, fighting a White Lynel. Among other things, it probably would have been a more solid fight if the phases had been reversed (with the in-story argument being that Ganon fused with nearby Guardian parts as a last-ditch survival move), and there had been more power in said phase.

@Discar: Yup.

The DLC armours are nice but far, far outstripped by the base armours; fair enough averting Bribing Your Way to Victory, but I hear the amiibo equipment is even better.

Trial of the Sword is a nice challenge (and I imagine it would be handy for anybody who forgot to photograph the Master Sword when they first get there). Weirdly enough, I actually had the most trouble on the Beginning Trial; I cleared the Middle Trial on my first attempt, and while the early parts of Final Trial gave me some grief, it was pretty much plain sailing after that.

But the Master Trials were worth it for the experience of riding into Ganon's castle on a motorbike wielding a chainsaw.

Because I figured it out...several weeks ago.

Yeah, taking photos of other people's stuff is nice. On my first run-through, I did that for the Silverscale spear.

I like using selfie poses for the bows and arrows. I got a really dramatic closeup shot for my Ancient Arrow photo.
