The story centers on Hideki Nishimura, a young man who confessed to a person he thought was a girl online, only for that person to turn out to be a boy. He keeps this "black history" secret and swears to never to trust a "girl" online again. However, one day a girl online confesses to him, and it turns out she's actually a beautiful girl named Ako Tamaki. Ako cannot tell the difference between the online world and reality, and she is a loner who has trouble communicating. Hideki and his friends from his guild decide to work together to "correct" her.

From the symposis I expected this show to be a wish fulfillment vehicle, and it kinda it - a guy finds that his online waifu is actually a cute girl from his class that pretty much drools at his sight from the moment they meet in real life. But despite that, I rather liked the first episode. The characters are likable and the humor is on point. I especially liked when they explained to Akane what "Schwein" means. I wonder when this show will go from here.

Episode 2 is out. We learn that Ako can't tell the game from reality, which leads to her revealing Rusian and Schwein's gaming ID's to their classroom.

I'm liking this show so far. I even hope Ako and Rusian become a real couple down the road.

I don't generally care for wish fulfillment fanservice shows or MMOs, but something about this caught my eye. And I'm actually liking this a lot more than I thought I would. The cast dynamics are pretty solid. Ako is one messed up person though. Hopefully she starts drawing the line between reality and games better. For Rusian's sake.

To be honest, that whole idea that Ako sure is delusional to confuse online love with real life annoyed me somewhat; as if you can't really fall in love with somebody online. Which is nonsense. Rusian really doesn't have anything to complain about at this point. If he likes Ako enough to "marry" here in game, he can hang out with her irl, unless she's drastically different from how she behaves online, which she doesn't seem to be.

The girl appears to be somewhat mentally unstable which is kinda a big turn-off.

Is the problem really that Ako can't tell the difference between game and reality? Because to me it looks more like Nishimura and Segawa are trying way too hard to keep the two separate out of some sort of juvenile shame of their passion. It's pretty clear to me who is the immature one here.

Rusian and Schwein seems to be the actual ones in the wrong about the whole thing when you take a step back and observe what's going on. Ako isn't immature, just confusing things.

Yeah, that's the impression I got as well. Also, Kyou says she set the club up to help them convince Ako, but I wonder if that's actually the case.

Given what was going on so far, I should gave guessed it: that catgirl who rejected Rusian back then was in fact a girl. And his sensei from school to boot.

Episode 3 was pretty funny in the beginning. Everyone is so sick of Master Bribing Your Way to Victory that they forbid her from using premium items. Even as she found a loophole to that ban, Master still got her ass kicked by the lava mooks.

Oh come on Ako, the fire dress is way more attractive that the regular one!

Messing with your friends computers while they are out. Classic.

"don't trust people you never met in real life!" - Treats Nekohime words like the gospel. Nishimura you hypocrite.

I was expecting someone to call out Nishimura on his stubborn, cowardly idiocy, but didn't expect it to happen this soon. Segawa is right - what a turd.

So Nekohime was actually the teacher all along. Well, now Ako has a good reason to come to school every day.

Schwein, stop digging yourself deeper. Rusian, you're not doing much better job yourself.

If those two at the inn are doing what Rusian thinks they are doing, the game has some re-e-e-eally advanced features.

Is that "new gamer" girl Nanako (the pink-haired one)? Who tried the game now 'cause she saw Schwein most-definitely-not-playing it? Schwein's dialogue near the end of the episode seems to point towards this as well.

Also, Ako is yandere (sometimes?)

Schwein and Rusian are doing horrible job hiding their true selves Especially Schwein who's denial is suspiciously specific.

The date was nice

Cat-sensei has a whole guild of white knights. This is probably the funniest thing yet.

Oh no a drama lama approaches, and the crisis could be averted if Rusian just told the newbie to not be so clingy. But he won't since he's an idiot.

It's pretty clear to me now that Schwein and Rusian are the ones the series will focus on maturing.

Yeah, that seems to be the case. Those two are the ones who need to grow up and their misguided attempt at "fixing" Ako will probably lead them to that point.

To be honest, the series needs some drama otherwise you'll just spend it wondering why Ako and Rusian aren't going at it like two cats in heat already.

Since we know who Sette is IRL, and Sette knows who Rusian is, and Sette got very clingy with Rusian, that has some IRL implications.

I find it a bit amusing that everyone is fairly nice overall online. Rusian himself helps others and didn't hold anything against Nekohime. The guildmaster laid out what their expectations were and even when turned down offered to give advice when needed. Even Nekohime's knights ultimately let Rusian and Ako without too much fuss. Not too many jerks here thus far.

[up][up] Not to mention the Spoiler Opening.

Anyway, Akane calling her clubroom PC "War Machine"...and wanting to take it home with her... [lol]

And Ako's yandere tendencies have been popping up more frequently as of late. How long before she starts doing the "yandere trance"?

Camper Sniper Ako.

Akane doing things while Sette confirms that she was that newbie from the previous episode and explains that she started gaming because she saw the 'original four' having so much fun. ♪ It's over. My high-school life is over... ♪

And then Akane totally slips into dere-dere mood. Remember, how she was said to have only the harsh side before the reveal?

Ako's mother is totally an older version of Ako herself. And, possibly, not just in the looks department...

Also, Ako has some ... strange ideas on how she should dress for having Rusian in her room. And, unlike her "husband", she appears to be ready.

So this episode showed why nobody locks their doors in anime: if you do, your mother, who clearly approves of future husband, just hands him the key to your room anyway.

I've never laughed as hard at a "guy walks in at a girl changing clothes" as I did here — especially the second time, after Ako had prepared herself.

Netoge has rather surprised me, as I thought it would just be a trash harem show, but it has been rather subtle at times, doesn't go for standard anime "humour" for the most part and actually seems interested in looking at why Ako is what she is.

Ako saying "team deathmach" was super adorable.

So FPS games are Ako's true calling?

So if she's not interested in Rusian, what's with the clinging and ribbing at Ako? Got me fooled.

Doing nothing and making self-serving comments. True friends.

Shwein says something nice.

Ako's mother sure is liberal. And now we know who she got her looks from.

She told you not to get in dude. You have no one to blame but yourself.

I never tried pee either, but I'm almost sure it doesn't taste like tea.

Rusian doing something cool for a change? Actually showing some empathy and resolving the situation positively? Well, maybe he isn't totally worthless after all.

Thinking about it, why is Ako even so bad with real life? People normally don't become this reclusive for no reason but not only is she not bullied, her classmates seem to adore her. Weird.

Well, this episode was a pretty big improvement.

[up] Then again, Nishimura was convinced she wouldn't let him in no matter what. Plus since she told him she was going to go as far as to drop out of school to game, he probably thought she'd be more or less grinding all day. Her changing right at that moment was probably the last thing on his mind.

And urine has a strong smell so he would've noticed the smell long before he even touched the glass if there was urine in there.
