Max is probably not so much in most of those areas. A 1 or 2 tops.

I want to put an advantage point into attractiveness, though, plus another just for his accent.[lol]

Also looking over the stats some more, I think I'll probably go with no shield and just chain armor since I might be exceeding the toughness limit otherwise.

Name: Adrian Hailrath / John Doe

Personality: He is sarcastic, and almost constantly exerting the feeling of Surrounded by Idiots. Can be surprisingly Adorkable at times, especially when video games or animated sitcoms are brought up. Often a Big Eater.

Description: He stands at 5'8", with black, cropped and pulled-back hair and pale skin. He usually wears a black hoodie and athletic pants, with tieless dress shoes. He speaks through his drones, so he has no need to physically hide his identity.

Backstory: He is just a bored, rich MIT student, who, after the Mass Empowering Event increased his intelligence to superhuman levels, saw a business opportunity - he created small, flying drones to be his eyes, ears, and mouth, and would gather intelligence for heroes and villains alike, and get paid for it. That's basically it. He has no real backstory, nothing very eventful has happened in his life.

Powers, skills, gear:

Extreme Intelligence: Probably in the 13-17 range. His only superhuman attribute.

Drones: He has hundreds of them released into the city, watching, listening, speaking. When one is destroyed, you can expect that another will soon take it's place. They look like blank white spheres with a thruster and a single blue eye, with a small slot under the eye to place paper dollars, capable of holding up to 100 individual bills.

Incredible Hacking Skills

Incredible frailty!: He is physically weak, with all of his physical stats being very low. (Probably in the negatives for at least strength)

And... that's actually it. Aside from his intelligence, drones, and incredible hacking, he is just a normal guy with no real agenda or backstory.

By the way, yes, he is still in Cambridge. What kind of idiot would go directly to the city to broker intelligence?

One other thing, do you think that it makes sense for Riptide to be able to change the state of water? I mean, I established that he can convert water vapor into liquid water to use it as a weapon, but should he also be able to change water into ice/steam and vice versa? It would certainly be helpful for him, as well as help differentiate him from Aquaman, but I don't know how much sense it makes for an ocean-based hero.

I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.

  • Name: Phoenix (real name: Scott Braith)
  • Personality: Phoenix is still a very new hero, but what he lacks in experience, he makes up for in energy and confidence. He's incredibly excited to be working as a hero, and he'll jump right in if he thinks he has a chance to save someone or fight off a monster. In battle, though, his energy turns to something more ferocious. Since he's used to fighting things much stronger than humans, he tends to go all-in on his opponents, and he doesn't stop fighting until either he or his opponent can't get up.
  • Description:
    • Scott is five foot ten with a thin frame. He has long blond hair down to his mid-back and green eyes. He's eighteen, but he only looks about sixteen.
    • In civilian gear, Scott tends towards basic jeans and shirts, with little regard for fashion or brands. These outfits are inevitably rounded out with his favorite red baseball cap, the one element of active style he's cultivated.
    • As Phoenix, he wears a red hat with a single feather in it, a red leather duster, an all-black suit with a red necktie—clip-on, so he can't be choked on it—and a red domino mask to hide his identity.
  • Backstory: Scott Braith has always idolized heroes and adventurers, but it wasn't until about three months ago, while he was in the city of Phoenix for a baseball game, that he even began to consider becoming one. If anything, he was forced into it, as when he left the stadium, he found that a good chunk of the city had been turned to zombies. Fortunately, he came under the protection of one Sir Akama, a member of the Order of the Crimson Knights. This organization of heroes, dating back to medieval Europe and with chapters all over the world, had been protecting mankind from the supernatural and the unexplainable with swords in hand and spells in mind.
    • Over the course of the three-day affair, Scott came to be a vital part of Akama's efforts to retake the city, providing him with intel, warning him of threats, and even doing decently with improvised weapons against the zombies. After it was over, Scott asked if he could become part of the Order himself. In order to do that, Scott had to pass a test to determine whether or not he was even able to use magic. As it turned out—to his own surprise—he could, and so he became an apprentice to Sir Akama. Scott was subsequently given the codename Phoenix based on the city where he'd first shown his heroic capability.
    • In the time since, Phoenix has been exposed to all the strange creatures Arizona has to offer, including giant scorpions, werewolves, and even aliens. But in order to become a fully-fledged Knight of the Order—and earn the right to be called Sir Phoenix—he has to travel beyond it, aiding those in need beyond his home. With its relative proximity and well-organized local chapter, Emerald City seemed a logical place to send him.
    • As of the game's start, Sir Akama has been called away to Mexico to deal with another large-scale crisis. Before leaving, he told Phoenix to hit the streets and start looking for other heroes to team up with. Little does Phoenix know he's about to have a lot more options...
  • Powers, skills, gear:
    • Thus far, Phoenix has five spells down: Ward Off Evil (light-based attack specifically for undead enemies), Heal (self-explanatory), Stone's Throw (a Dishing Out Dirt attack), Make Haste (makes whoever he casts it on faster), and his most powerful spell, Medusa's Gaze (turns the target to stone if they're making eye contact with him when he casts it). However, as he increases in level—and through the use of stunts and hero points—Phoenix will be able to take full advantage of his powers to wield more powerful elemental attacks, heal his allies, and weaken his foes.
    • What gives Phoenix so much of his potential is his casting speed. Learning a spell can take weeks of arduous training, but once he gets one down, Phoenix needs no prep time, rituals, callouts, or anything else of the sort; all he needs is a thought and a hand gesture towards the target. At the moment, it just means that, presented with a crowd of zombies, he can quickly take them down one by one, but given enough time and after learning enough spells, Phoenix has the potential to become a one-man army. The only drawback is that eventually, he runs out of magic energy, but since his is always recharging and his current spells use so little of it, it's not much of a problem yet.
    • The unflatteringly-named Pauper's Dagger is Phoenix's primary melee weapon, given to him upon joining the Order of the Crimson Knights. It's enchanted, and therefore capable of damaging magical creatures, but there are far better options available for someone with Phoenix's gift, and he knows it. Given the opportunity to wield another weapon, preferably an enchanted rapier, Phoenix will gladly take it.

@This Guy 481: I previously asked you how would your guy fit into an action oriented superhero team game. But here he is, not interested in the action, being a superhero or being on a team.

So sorry, but I'm going to decline your signup.

@All Hail Thrall: I don't see why would it not. Sculpted ice, concealing fog - all works.

@Nitrous Thunder: Okay, character and backstory is fine. I'd consider adding some utility spells rather than starting with the very narrow selection.

Of course the point is that he wouldn't be part of the 'action'. He'd be a glance at what could happen if an empowered civilian decided to take advantage of their powers not for good or evil, but just for profit and self-benefit - not a hero, not a villain. Just True Neutral.

That, or he is subconsciously wanting to use less violent and dangerous methods to protect the world from evil.

Honestly, he doesn't even know which one it is.

He has plenty of reasons - he is Chaotic Neutral, maybe even a very loose Chaotic Good - he would be willing to gladly aid the heroes against an Omnicidal Maniac or anyone with plans to take over the world, assuming their idea of a utopia doesn't line up with his. Pragmatic Heroism could easily apply. Hell, he might even be willing to aid them in an attempt to convert them to his cause.

Name: Blake "Lapis" Barrelknocker

Age: 17 and looks it

Gender: Male

Appearance: Typically wears a red jacket with black shirt and black jeans. Accessories include a pocket knife with chain attached hanging from his pocket, black beanie, and a single ear clamp on his left ear◊. About 5'8'', jet black hair, sky blue eyes. His typical appearance is non-threatening and open, with an average build.

Hero Suit:

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/capture_7.PNG

Personality: Though Lapis is a laid-back, non-agressive, and typically lazy person, until you screw with his friends and/or family, he is incredibly smart, almost borderline super-human. Though typically excitable in the sense of being crazy, when needed, he can become extremely serious. He chooses to be the clown and enjoys just messing around with his friends. Fitting in well with most crowds, not a lot of people dislike him, but there are a few.

Bio: Average at birth, no one really expected the day at age 7 when his powers were awakened. The reason why is unclear, but he started levitating rocks. At first, everyone thought it was telekinesis, but it turned out to be control over earth itself, as he could not control fire, water, or wind. After discovering this, testing was done and he turned out to be a mutant. His parents disowned him. He was offered to join a legion of superheros. Lapis turned it down out of sheer anger and about a month later, regretted his decision. Having been disowned with nowhere to go, he turned to the streets becoming a criminal. For years he helped with heists, drug deals, and even ran his own mafia. Everything seemed to be going smoothly until he met his match at the hands of his adoptive mother, Theresa. She caught him on the streets one night and forced him to stay with her and the other adopted kids, some normal, some mutant, alien, etc. After discovering his involvement with the underground, she gave him "a whippin' to remember," thus ending his time in the underground. From then on, he swore to use his powers to help people.

Powers / Abilities: Manipulation over anything made from earth. (metal, dirt, grass, weeds, rocks, anything along those lines, but cannot control animate objects, or robots, as the circuitry messes with his ability.)

He can sense the vibrations in the earth which makes him paranoid sometimes

Master Swordsman

Name: John Anderson. Hero name/alias: Zero

Personality: He is a loner who often avoids people. He is a serious guy who enjoys completing missions without mistake as he is also very OCD. He is a collector of weapons, most he doesn't even know how to use proficiently.

Backstory: He was born a middle class citizen, but he didn't fit in as a child he frequently spoke of the visions he got while he was in school. He would often be sent to a room by himself to learn independently, so he got used to being alone. Often times while doing this he would fall asleep and enter a new world that he only knew of as limbo. He would hen awaken a short time later with a huge migraine that would frequently prevent him from doing work. As he grew older he began to get control of his power of entering limbo which allowed him to move freely throughout the word with both his physical body and his mind. Now he continues to be a middle class citizen having a decent house with his small collection of weapons in it. He tends to work from afar, not openly announcing that he was there to begin with. On his self appointed jobs he just does meaning less things like save a damsel in distress or stop a robbery, but he never actually is seen on the scene. He takes on the name zero because he doesn't like to leave any trace he has been there so most of the time it seems as if he were never there.

Powers: He doesnt leave a trace he was there because he manipulates the bond between limbo and the physical world to where he can move unseen until he reenters the world in a new location, but this takes a toll on him as well each time he does this he is physically weakened, and he has a splitting headache.later when the games begin he will later be able to take others with him. Also if he goes through limbo only mentally then he is put into a coma like state until he returns to his body. he also has visions sometimes, but they are usually irrelevant to the subject at hand.

skills:He is skilled with blades not great but not bad and he also has decent aim with a sniper rifle but anything without a scope he probably will miss.

gear: He has a blade in his house that he made from materials only found in limbo. The blade physically weakens his oppnents when it connects with skin, but other than that it is a simple long sword. He also has a barret 50 cal. with a silencer on it so he can take care of jobs from a distance. He wears black jeans, a white shirt, and a leather jacket. when he is on a job though he wears a solid black mask with a black jump suit so that he can remain decently camouflaged.

Oh yeah, something I forgot to add: The reason Glaukon took on the name Riptide is that he doesn't want the "landwalkers" (as he calls people who live on the surface) to know about the Atlanteans. So if people ask what he is, he's gonna end up being a bit evasive.
