[up]That's why I want to give Allura red. She has enough hot blood for days. Speaking of red, have you seen the theory that it's somehow harboring the soul of Keith's mom? Not only would that fit perfectly with Shiro becoming one with Black, it puts its actions in a far different light.

I somehow doubt Keith's 10,000 years old.

Like, that's really dumb.

[up]Didn't Red start in Galra hands? I don't buy the theory, mostly it seems like a cute Evangelion riff, but you could say they recently bonded the two to revive the inert Red Lion.

Red Lion being Mama Keith sounds too much like Evangelion to the point it would sound like a ripoff rather than a homage.

As for Blue's Virtue I've seen people theorize that it could be friendliness, dependability, reliability, all sorts of traits that would make sense with Lance's character development. It's a leg so it's probably a supportive trait like Hunk's.

Finished season 2. Are we still putting stuff in spoilers? When do we stop that?

Sometimes this show gets too silly for its own good. Like when Coran turned into a slip'n slide. Although the mall was great, especially Pidge. First she has to pee, then she wants that game console that sets up a great punch-line.

Are we sure the druids are even physical beings at all? Because when you kill one it doesn't leave a body.

Do we have a list of all the Lion power-ups? I think we've seen every Lion's individual weapon, but I don't think we've seen Lance or Pidge's Voltron weapon. Unless the shield is Pidge's weapon.

The underground Galra resistance opposing the king is actually a plot line from the original Voltron. Not the Lion Voltron, but vehicle Voltron. Now I'm not saying that the writers necessarily were inspired by Vehicle Voltron, but I would like to see a couple elements from that show make it into this one. Also, in Vehcile Voltron, the bad guys home planet blows up in the finale, and in this iteration it seems to have been destroyed a long time ago. Make of that what you will.

When the good guys assmebled all their comrades and prepared this complex plan to defeat Zarkon I was expecting the writers to pull a Day of Black Sun. Things went much MUCH smoother than I was expecting.

I was REALLY hoping for a whole episode flashback explaining the war and where Voltron came from and Zarkon's turn to the dark side. We got just a taste of that, but I want more. I sincerely hope it happens in season 3.

Actually, when are we getting season 3? Any ideas? And how many seasons are we expecting in all?

Especially given the title of the episode! 'Best Laid Plans' sounds like things are gonna go horribly wrong but everything mostly goes according to the best laid plans despite a few setbacks

I think it helps that we, the viewers, already know that things have gone horribly wrong with Thace having been captured, so that allows for some tension on that front.

I get the feeling that Lotor isn't on the command ship, but is busy elsewhere. Could be wrong though.

I think that's certainly likely, yes. If he was on the ship, I would have expected him to have been present at one point or another.

I've made it clear I'd love to see Vehicle Voltron in some fashion.

That being said, it'll be hard to make it as powerful as Classic Voltron, because there's be no way to simulate the magical aspects of the former. It'd still be interesting to see however.

[up]Magic vs Science.

Personally I'm pulling for it to be Getter Robo in all but name like Gladiator Voltron was.

I think the most likely way we're going to see Vehicle Voltron appear is if, at some point, Voltron comes to Earth, fights some Galra, then leaves, and the Galaxy Garrison decides to reverse engineer a giant robot of their own in case the Galra ever come back. Although since combining stuff is hard I expect it'll just be one giant robot that doesn't break into smaller pieces. It would be cool to see two giant robots fighting side-by-side. In fact if they do go this route it wouldn't surprise me if Voltron teaming up with the other robot and defending Earth is the grand finale for the series.

Hmm...do you think that Lotor might decide to attack Earth as revenge, or maybe as part of a plan to draw the Paladins into a trap? Or both?

Which is worse: A character that has a poorly defined personality, or a character you personally find annoying, but DOES have personality?

I'd figure Shiro becomes a spirit adviser from now on, helps Keith with leadership advice and stuff, ultimately sacrifices himself to off Zarkon for good in the mindscape. Lance becomes more critical of Keith and gets more hot headed in battles, gets switched to Red as a result. Allura gets Blue.

[up][up] A character that has a poorly defined personality is way worse a character.

Depends on the execution. While [up] and [up][up] have a point, I can point out the reverse is true.

Take say, Neelix (Defined but Annoying) compared to Harry Kim (Undefined).

Or anyone in Episode 1 (Undefined) vs Jar Jar (Defined but annoying)

While what is annoying varies to the viewer, an annoying character is actualy actively annoying you if you define him as annoying. A poorly defined character might just be bland and forgettable.

@ Karkat The Dalek I'm honestly surprised he didn't try that already. Seeing how all five Paladins come from Earth, and the ease in which he can send his fleet, you'd think telling the Paladins "give up Voltron or your planet's glass" would be his first resort.

[up] Well, Zarkon's shown that his need to regain control of the Black Lion tends to override his common sense. I'm guessing he's so single-minded about it that he doesn't make many plans other than "pursue the target".

In addition to a whole episode flashback telling us how this whole war started I also think we're overdue learning how exactly Shiro and Keith know each other.

Sometimes I think this show goes out of its way to give science the finger. Every time they wormhole somewhere they always say they are galaxies away. Dot he writers have any idea how big a galaxy is? Because I don't think they do. Then there's the fact that they don't know what a theory is.Strangely Hunk was surprised when he saw that folded space region where the Marmora base was, yet a wromhole is just folded space.

[up]Super Robot shows do that regularly. A quote from Getter Robo Go is "So much for the laws of physics!"

Another theory regarding Shiro I saw has Him not dead, but on Earth under the identity of "Sven" wearing a mask. In other words, a full on Char Clone.

I'm sticking with the theory that Shiro is simply one with the Black Lion now. It removes him from the plot while also removing any possibility of Zarkon regaining control. I wouldn't be surprised if he showed up as some sort of Spirit Adviser to Keith if he takes control of the Black Lion; I've kinda given up on the idea that Keith's bond with the Red Lion will carry over to season 3. I mean, its Wave-Motion Gun was never seen again in season 2, after all. [tongue]

[up][up]That depends on if you want Shiro to be Obi-Wan Kenobi or Char Aznable. The former gets him out of the way as a physical force, the latter let's him use the name Sven as an alias.

[up]That is really good stuff.
