I'd be in favour of merging this back.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickSeems like a needless distinction.
Also a pretty lousy name... I thought it was about, well, Christmas in a Soapland which... well, it'd be different, at least.
So yeah, cut.

Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.So most people seem not to care or support cutting this. Shall I add it to the cut list?
Not enough consensus to do that yet.
I support the merge. It has over 100 inbounds, which I believe is enough to require us to preserve the name as a redirect.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Agreed on the merge.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportDoesn't seem that different from Twisted Christmas, so I support the merge.
Also supporting the merge. I think the description in Soapland Christmas is better written though Twisted Christmas has a clearer name.
The nice thing about merging is we can pick the best bits from each page.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickClock is set.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanAlso support merge. We seem to have near-consensus here. Should we toss in a crowner?
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee. No, the consensus is pretty strong to merge (and I'm voting for it as well) and this has been gathering dust for a while, so let's make it happen.
Yes, absolutely, if there's consensus now I'll start on a merge.
For formality's sake, the discussion page is blank so nothing needs saving.
Oops, sorry, there's an archived discussion page with one post. Can a mod please merge?
Now moved all the examples from Soapland into Twisted, and bits of the write-up
Changed or deleted all work pages
Now turned Soapland Christmas into a redirect page.
I think this is finished. Sorry to be stupid, but how do I close this thread?
I'm sure the admins will do it if you ask. Also, I agree with the merge/cut.
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/relatedsearch.php?term=Main/SoaplandChristmas and https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/remarks.php?trope=Main.SoaplandChristmas needs to be done still.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanWhat needs to be done with the "related" page? Should the Laconic version be cutlisted or redirected? The appearance of The Day Britain Stopped on the related page is a ghostwick from a deleted page.
Laconics should never be redirected.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanHas this been completed?
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.
This trope is really just "Twisted Christmas, but when an ongoing work's actual Christmas Episode has shocking/depressing content". Additionally, there are a few examples included that are simply Twisted Christmas, without happening in an ongoing work:
Is the fact of the event being the Christmas Episode of an ongoing work enough to make it a separate trope?
Also, many of the links to the page are from other trope pages that it's being distinguished from, rather than works pages.
