"She's nod dead, is she ?" Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell if you look at it from a non-temporal standpoint I gueeeeeeeess you could try to argue she might not have been 11/10 destroyed for about 5 minutes. Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe.

She's not dead because she's a video game character. Start a new file and she'll be fine.

I'm reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally tempted to make an undertale joke about that point but eh, too predictible and overdone.

You know, I've been meaning to ask... Kokona is just a test rival who will not be part of the ten Rivals that the player needs to dispatch within a week of each one's arrival to avoid a Game Over, right? So... What will happen to the whole "my dad is in debt to a loan shark" subplot, and the subsequent "please don't take Senpai away from me" event that takes place should you opt to force the loan shark to forgive the debts of all his current victims and then refraining from killing Kokona while she's in Ayano's home to thank her? Because I can't really see a reason for Ayano to bother help Kokona with the loan shark problem if Kokona is not remotely a threat to Ayano's goal of winning Senpai's love in the first place.

On a different note, I've been thinking that Mission Mode would be more fun if it gave players the option of including Senpai as a character, and with him new gameplay rules similar to Story Mode that force the player to make sure they're neither caught red-handed during an assassination nor indirectly traumatize Senpai too much with all the deaths (that is, don't let him happen upon the scene of the crime too many times even if he never sees you). And to top it all off is a finale where Ayano is being hunted down by Nemesis, whom she has to not only avoid being killed by, but also prevent from discovering that Ayano is in love with Senpai, because afterwards should Nemesis spend too much time without catching a whiff of Ayano's trail, she'll just start hunting down Senpai himself to draw Ayano out.

[up]General assumption is that Kokona has just been inserted where one of the rivals will be in the main game. The subplot will probably exist with Osana or Amai or someone else in Kokona's place in the final version.

I wonder, will we be able to sequence break by getting certain rivals to take each other out as a pragmatic means?

[up][up][up] ... An already "eliminated" rival who is still alive being used against a newer rival? Now that would be interesting.

BTW, Ayano's backstory gives the impression that she should already have a friend or two just for to maintain the appearance of being "normal", yet by all indications she's well-known in school as a friendless loner. Any reason for this Gameplay and Story Segregation?

[up] Yeah, pretty surprising even for me who's rather used to seeing gruesome anime/manga images (not a fan, but I've been desensitized to an extent).

I've watched a number of the videos on this game and I've gotta say there is a sense of humor in the dark stuff that I can appreciate.

As for that thumbnail, I've imagined worse.

I'm not one for too much gore, but that thumbnail is kind of tame which makes me think I've been on the internet for too long.

That said it should probably not be the thumbnail for the video.

New build is up, by the way. Nothing of note in the build itself, but YanDev has finished all of Osana's events, including the confession cutscene, expect a video talking about Osana in the next few days.

Oh, also, Halloween stuff, mostly some fanart and a simple minigame based on the Slender videogame.

I downloaded this thing and attempted a full Kill Em All challenge run, killing every single student with exception of the hitboxless libraians, gardeners, Rival-chan and Senpai.

This relies on a couple unimplemented features: the unused rooms, and nobody reacting to pools of blood and nudity. Run speed panties are used.

My plan.

Morning:

  • Beeline for the cooking club and get the knife there
  • Follow the martial arts students to their club, kill two of them on the way with stabs from behind
  • Join the club, then immediately attack the remaining ones(unless you kill at least two of them, one will inevitably escape and report to the teacher as you keep getting distracted with attacks)
  • hide the bodies in unused rooms or within the club itself
  • Go to the gaming club, kill the two gamers there
  • Go the library and kill Kuu Dere
  • Go to the occult club - lure a couple students with laughter, stab them, then storm in and kill the rest
  • hide the bodies within the club
  • close all doors everywhere
  • go to the rooftop, kill everyone in this order: Mai-Midori-Oka-Sisters(Martial arts benefit still protects from retaliation of the other sister)

Classes:

  • Not going to classes. Doing so somehow always causes teachers to find the bodies even if it's somewhere none of the teachers would actually visit during the class
  • Burn the uniform and bathe
  • Hide the rooftop bodies somewhere away from plain sight, so that Saki and Kokona would not find them
  • wait
  • wait
  • Jesus fuck wait
  • why do these classes have to be so fucking long
  • >_<

Lunch:

  • Kill Musume as she stowaways from others and hide her in an unused room
  • Follow Saki and Kokona to the rooftop and kill them
  • bathe again if necessary
  • Complete the kitten task from the Purple Hair Guy

Classes again:

  • Wait
  • Wait
  • Wait
  • Why does the pass time option no worko

Cleaning time:

At this point, if cards are played right, every class will have only two students each cleaning. Those would be the only students remaining in the game.

  • First is class 3-2, Senpai's class. The only one still in his class should be the Purple Hair Guy. Seeing as he's our friend and we completed the task for him, we can lure him away(not actually tested if he will follow during cleaning time, you'll see why soon)
  • Then all the other classes in any order
  • bathe, burn weapon
  • Get out
  • DONE.

Unfortunately, I tried time and time again to actually make it happen, but something always stops me. Like... for some reason the martial arts club doesn't work on teachers, found that one the hard way. Another problem is weird inconsistent reactions to laughter - occult club in particular won't bother to leave the room most of the time. And the loooooong wait times between classes that you have no way of skipping. But the prime obstacle is... body physics.

Body physics.

Let me just say this - the last time I tried this run, Midori's body somehow spazzed out, jumped 10 feet into the air straight off the rooftop, and landed right onto the school fountain, where Senpai and 12 other students were. So of course they all started panicking while I closed the game in utter shock.

Maybe I'm putting way too much effort into this... after all, this is a game where ten bosses were promised and not even one has been implemented yet.

Apologies if this has been asked multiple times, but has YanDev explained the specific Martial Art the club practices?, or is a generic, Karate-like, unnamed style?

I like this Student Council. They're definitely not messing around. Still disappointed that there's no full-fledged Disciplinary Committee, though; I thought YanSim was supposed to reflect/parody tropes that are common/iconic in the world of anime and manga, so YanDev's reluctance to incorporate a Disciplinary Committee simply because they don't exist IRL is odd.

... and if that "spoiler" about a particular benefit of the player being a Student Council member themselves doesn't simply turn out to be either "You will actually have a chance at not only enacting a Murder Elimination against Megami, but getting away with it (as opposed to successfully killing her, only to get a Game Over because you're inevitably discovered)" or "You can get Megami alone and get into a 'war' of words with her, where only the right sequence of dialogu choices will allow you to verbally break her resolve to oppose you and thus eliminate her as a threat", my Author Avatar will eat his equally virtual hat.

The game will become Kill La Kill and there's gonna be a route where you have to kill off all of the student council. I'm calling it now.

I feel like the special elimination method in regards to Megami involves turning the rest of the Student Council against her.

Yeah, now that you mention it, that could be the spoiler that YanDev refrained from revealing. BTW, I've posted an interesting observation on the council quartet's surnames here. Feedback is appreciated, especially on Shiromi's surname since I'm stumped on it.
