Something.
Magical Girl comedy might be decent. I could use more of those kinds of shows.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.Man all these shorts are such a waste, make a damn full series out of em damnit.
It's kind of a shame that that didn't air this season: Then we could have had three shows featuring a main-character-stumbles-on-the-princess-in-a-state-of-undress-which-leads-to-a-duel-to-defend-her-maidenly-honor-in-which-he-proves-himself-unexpectedly-competent sequence in the first episode for people to complain about.
The comparisons to Infinite Stratos are well deserved. However, from what I've read, Saijaku Muhai No Bahamut is significantly more competently written and plotted. There are fewer Wall Banger moments involved in the world-building, the overarching plot is introduced sooner, and the protagonist has a better reason for being involved.
I ask that everybody who's read this be mindful of first-volume spoilers. I've made a quick pass through the tropes page and found a few, but can't guarantee that I've found everything.

...Is this yuri? That key visual sure looks like it
sorry to break it to you, but canonically, Mavis fell in love with Zeref before he became the series Big Bad in the original story.

Watch SymphogearOkay, preview time:
New stuff:
Active Raid
Near-future cop story with power armour. The good news is that Taniguchi is chief director and he's quite talented. The bad news is that the regular director and the series composer have considerably worse track records. So, uh, we'll see
Ajin
One of those dark and edgy stories where basically everyone is terrible. Kind of reminded me of Tokyo Ghoul, but I haven't read much of either, so take that with a grain of salt. I hear the story takes a sharp turn a ways in when the writer leaves, so that should be kept in mind
Anime is being made by the guys that did Knight of Sidonia
Ao no Kanata Four Rhythm
An adaptation of an eroge that isn't out yet. Though the website lists the notional male lead as a side character. Not much else to say. It's being made Gonzo, but they've given up everything that made them unique to stay alive...
Boku Dake Ga Inai Machi
Time travelling psychological thriller. ...I like the concept, but the manga has a very distant, disjointed form a story-telling that put me off it. Good news being that the staff is pretty competent, and that may well get improved for the anime
Bubuki Buranki
What is it? I have no idea. They've released essentially no information besides the name (uninformative), the staff (untested), and the season (impending)
Dagashi Kashi
Comedy of the "everyone acts over-the-top" sort. Liable to be shorts. And the female lead has a very striking design, but you don't need to actually watch it to see that
Dimension W
SF thriller. Felt to me like the author wanted to make something gritty and mature, but was really only used to stuff aimed at teen boys. I mean, the manga isn't bad, but I don't see what about this made Funi decide to get into anime production, either
Divine Gate
Can't find too much about the story, but the director has worked on a lot of classic fighting shounen
Hai To Gensou No Grimgar
So we have some kids get stuck in a world that resembles a typical RPG campaign... whereupon they proceed to have a miserable time. This appears to be what we'd consider a deconstruction of those "trapped in fantasy world" series that've been cropping up lately. What I read of the manga was pretty decent. This is one I'd keep an eye on
HaruChika Haruta to Chika Wa Seishun Suru
Kids in a band and mystery-solving, apparently. I hear both the male and female lead are in love with their male teacher, so that's something
Kono Subarashi Sekai Ni Shukufuku Wo
Trapped in an RPG Mechanics 'Verse, parody version. 's alright. Anime looks to have a fair bit of fanservice, though
Luck And Logic
TCG tie-in, but these have been known to turn out well. Staff is interesting— There's two directors; it looks like one of them is probably mentoring the other, and possibly the writer as well. So, I'm not really willing to make any guesses as to how well this'll turn out
Mahou Shoujo Nante Mou Ii Desu Kara
Magical girl comedy. The humour in the manga was more dryly amusing than laugh-out-loud funny. Probably going to be shorts
Myriad Colors Phantom World
So Kyo Ani is trying to do an action series again. The staff is different from their last attempt, but best known for doing the Key adaptations...
Nijiiro Days
A group of boys of wildly different personalities and interests hang out and deal with their relationships with girls. I'm not sure who this is aimed at, but I can say that it has very shoujo sensibilities
Norn 9
So it's an otome game adaptation about people with superpowers on a giant flying sphere? I did find a manga adaptation, but I have my doubts as to it's accuracy (one volume long). I can say that it has interesting artistry and there's an actual plot, at least
Nurse Witch Komugi-chan R
Komugi is back, now with an idol theme. I've never seen the original, but I'm not sure how closely it'll resemble it anyway. On one hand, the characters have slightly different names and new seiyuu. On the other, the art style is kept the same, despite being outdated
Staff is passable
Ooyasan Wa Shishunki
Looks like it's going to be a cute comedy maybe with some romance elements, but I haven't been able to find the manga. Probably going to be shorts
Oshiete Gyarukochan'
Looks like it'll be our cute girls doing cute things for the season. Probably going to be shorts
Phantasy Star Online 2 The Animation
So it's about PSO2 and involves characters in the real world? Not sure if they're going Dot Hack or what
Prince Of Stride Alternative
Based on an otome game but looks like it'll be focusing more on the male characters. Being directed by the lady that did NGNL and Hanayamata, so it should at least look good
Reikenzan Hoshikuzu-tachi no Utage
Chinese in origin. Apparently a comedy. I don't know much about it. Animated by DEEN, meaning mediocre animation, though
Schwarzesmarken
So it's a Muv-Luv Alternative spinoff and it looks like it's going to be pretty grim. Hopefully will be better than last time
Sekkou Boys
Statues as idols. Actual statues, not coming alive or anything. If that sounds funny to you, you might want to give it a try
Going to be shorts
Shoujo-tachi wa Kouya o Mezasu
An adaptation of a bishoujo game about bishoujo games. Game staff has good track records, anime staff is okay
Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu
Our requisite serious drama for the season. Naturally, I haven't been able to find it. Anime-side, the director is alright, but I don't like the writer, and it's being animated at DEEN
Undefeated Bahamut Chronicle
Generic LN, but with giant robots. Proper ones, not that weird stuff IS had. But, still, very generic LN. Would not suggest watching just for the robots
Sequels:
Assassination Classroom 2nd Season
Durararax2 Ketsu
Fairy Tail ZERØ: I'm not sure if this is a seperate series from the main Fairy Tail anime, a new arc, a special, or what
Gate second season
Snow White with the Red Hair 2
General:
- Loads of shorts, though this is common in winter
- No full-length CGDCT
- Surprisingly few sequels
Wow, that seems like a really sucky season and I mean worst in years. The only things that sound interesting are apparently shorts ugh.

It's a prequel spin of of the main series chronicling how Mavis founded Fairy Tail.
I know what the manga is, what I'm unclear on is how it's being handled as an anime
Generic LN, but with giant robots. Proper ones, not that weird stuff IS had. But, still, very generic LN. Would not suggest watching just for the robots
Uh, it's pretty much exactly the same as what Infinite Stratos had, if the LN and manga art are anything to go by.
It's interesting that Muv Luv is getting side-story and promotional adaptions in preference to touching the heart of the franchise. Understandable, but interesting nevertheless.
Pandora of the Crimson Shell: Ghost Urn. We are getting something yuri-ish this season, after all
Okay, preview on it: Masamune Shirow came up with the concept, and it does have a lot of the tech people tend to associate him with. But the tone is fairly light, the art moe, and there's significant yuri overtones. I did quite like what I read of the manga, and suggest keeping an eye on it
That does look interesting... what is up with that lion creature though.
I couldn't conceive a dream so wet; your bongos make me congo.Watching the Dimension W trailer, I'm a bit afraid of the quality. The visuals themselves are nice, but the animation looks strangely jerky at times. :x As if they reduced the number of images per second or something.
As for why they chose to adapt that of all things, maybe it's because the author did the Darker than Black manga? It still seems to have quite a high budget for a series that's not such a big seller...

Flippé de participer à ce grand souper, je veux juste m'occuper de taper mon propre tempo.I am still far behind with almost everything in the Fall cour. Oh well.
Sure Pick Sequels
- GATE: Oh this will be fun.
- DRRR!: Please have better animation.
- Koyomimonogatari: So good.
- Akagami no Shirayuki: All of my feels.
Interest: 90%
- Haruchika: Music meets mystery.
- Active Raid: Armored suits yes yes yes.
- Phantasy Star Online: Plays the nostalgia card.
- Dagashi Kashi: A formula ripe for hilarious interactions. Art's swell too.
- Koukaku no Pandora: Shirow Masamune!
- Reikenzan: Oooh, Chinese backing should prove interesting.
- Shouwa Genroku: Am I the only one feeling the Chihayafuru vibes?
- Luck and Logic: Dogakobo is an instant watch in my book.
- Dimension W: Sci fi. Mmmm.
- Hai to Gensou no Grimgar: Something about the art style really hits the sweet spot.
- Ao no Kanata no Four Rhythm: RC is right; get the flight right and it'll do alright.
- Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku Wo!: Yet another RPG fantasy, but the characters are the right kind for a zany comedy.
- Ajin: The struggles of life ad infinitum.
- Fairy Tail Zero: A damn sight better than the main storyline.
Worth a Peek
- Prince of Stride: On one hand it's a sport series about parkour. On the other hand it's an otome game adaptation. Crud.
- Phantom World: Bog-standard premise but promises gorgeous visuals courtesy of Kyo Ani. Here's hoping this pans better than their last action fantasy attempt.
- Norn 9: Another otome game adaptation with an interesting premise.
- Shoujo-tachi wa Kouya wo Mezasu: I feel like I'll end up liking it.
- Boku Dake ga Inai Machi: Ugh, time loops. But it looks to be a solid effort.
- Divine Gate: Action fantasy shenanigans.
- Sekkou Boys: WTF
- Bubuki Buranki: A peek into a CGI future.
- Rainbow Days: No homo.
- Ooya-san: This breaches some child labor law I reckon, but hell this could be worth a few chuckles.
- Schwarzesmarken: Only because it's Muv Luv.
- Undefeated Bahamut Chronicle: My seasonal serving of that niche we really should have a shorthand for.
- Mahou Shoujo Nante Mou Ii Desu Kara: Not the biggest fan of mahou shoujo but hey.
Timewaster
- Sushi Police: Title says it all.
- Oji-san to Marshmallow: Burn the marshmallows. Burn them all.
- Gyaruko: Uh-huh.

I knew from the cover alone Undefeated Bahamut Chronicle was going to be generic LN crud, and they're having a second season of Gate. Great.... Does Gate's novel get even more jingoistic after the first season?
I shouldn't be too negative. There is more stuff I'm interested in this season than the last two. Hopefully it won't be as bad as those.
Gate the anime isn't actually all that jingoistic, nowhere even near Tom Clancy levels. if anything it's more otaku pandering at times than jingoistic pandering.
Romance comedy. Also probably shorts
Somebody say something
