You have an important mission, soldiers! The Planetary Combined Administration Army has identified a unique individual on this planet of freakishly huge giants, perhaps the greatest discovery the galaxy has ever known. Your mission is to track and ultimately capture it. To do so you will have to assimilate into its environment, gain its trust, lure it to your bases enough times to confirm its nature, then execute a capture plan that does not harm it. The fate of our collected races rests in your hands. Do not fail!

You control a Yandroid, a bio-mecha that looks exactly like any ordinary human being. On the outside they look like your normal, even attractive high school students. They eat, sleep, cry, bleed, sweat, all like a normal person. But beauty is only skin deep, and underneath this skin is a high advanced war machine! Where a lover's heart should be however, is a crack crew of the best and most obsessive pilots the galaxy has known. Factions from all across the galaxy, many with grudges against others, have nonetheless banded together and formed the PCAA's special operations unit: Multirole Acquisition Division, a military force that occupies Earth incognito to ensure the feuding factions don't barbecue the big blue marble.

To them, human beings are impossibly huge lifeforms. But Earth is also a hotbed for a highly contested mineral; the crystal Yanderium. This extremely valuable substance is difficult to find and acquire, but it offers limitless potential as a power source. It powers ships, lasers, and even your mecha. What? Why did you think they were called Yandroids?

The observer units at Sakae Esuno High School have discovered a truly remarkable human. Referred to by all the females of the institution only as "President" or "Senpai", this individual is so kind, handsome, and accomplished that nearly every girl in the school waxes amorous for him. He is, in a word, dreamy.

CLEARLY this could be because he possesses an aura that spontaneously forms polymethyldreamose molecules in the air around him which, when collected and condensed, forms a liquid from which Yanderium crystals grow easily. Don't as us how, some very smart and science-y people who were paid a lot of money said so! The point is if one could get their hands on this human, crystal shortages might even end overnight!

Unfortunately Senpai only emits this aura at its max capacity when in a heightened romantic state. Those smart, science-y people have determined that to fully utilize Senpai, the best solution is for one of the infiltrators must become the "Special Someone" who Senpai will fall in love with. No, shut up. Don't question the brain jars.

For your base of operations a new dorm has been set up for the school, filled with new "transfer students" who in reality are you and all your rivals! Beware! Though you are all ostensibly under the umbrella of the same organization, you fight to win Senpai for you and yours! Don't let those thieving, heartless witch robots take him before you! All bets are off! Use whatever built-in weapons you got to take out the opposition! Don't got those? I'm sure the school has a baseball bat or staple gun handy, whack those metal heads clean off! But remember, the normal humans can't catch on to what you're doing, especially not Senpai!

Hiya, folks! I'm Parable and me and Sere will be your G Ms for this Yandere/Sci-Fi-/Comedy RP. This is partly inspired by an April Fool's prank some of you might have seen and a really weird video some of you might also have seen. We thought to ourselves, what's better than a Yandere murder RP? A Yandere Mecha RP! This way you have all the violence of a Yandere, but with more chances to, you know, not die a bloody death. So in this game, it's less about killing the competition and more about winning Senpai's heart... while killing the compeition. But since they're artificial they'll just back for more beatings anyway. Your yandroid can have between 1 to 4 operators, all controlled by you. More characters means more work for you, but it also means you can have mini-alien commando raids who can sabotage your enemies or manipulate Senpai into falling for you! Lets go, alien robot ladies! May the best Yandere win!

Crew

  • Names: Aftah, Cwena, Godil, Theil
  • Faction:
  • Description: The sweaters are not official uniform.
  • History:
  • Skills: Aftah is the maintenance engineer of the crew, who is responsible for ensuring that the Yandroid is in peak performance. Cwena runs the day-to-day social interfaces and sensors that allow Kirza to interact with her peers and observe her surroundings. Godil runs the weapons arrays, and Theil is a jack-of-all-trades and saboteur of other Yandroids.

Yanderoid

  • Name: Kirza Araki
  • Age and School Year: 17, 3rd Year.
  • Appearance: Oh, hello!
  • History: Kirza is ostensibly the child of two engineers who lived on the other end of the island from the school. However, when they got a prestigious job offering, they sent her to Sakae Esuno, where she has jumped into student life with gusto. She has not officially joined any clubs yet, but has helped out with many of them unofficially and has shown interest in a student council position, so that she can, uh, help out the entire school! That's definitely why.
  • Personality: Kirza has gotten a reputation as someone who helps out whenever possible. Whether it's defending underclassmen, helping clubs get ready for events, or assisting certain student council members in their duties, she's always trying to make things better for her fellow students, even if she tires herself out doing so. However, she can be incredibly stubborn.
  • Weapons: Kirza has been equipped with lasers and hardlight projectors in her hands, eyes, and joints. In addition, she has forcefield generators built in, and a small reusable EMP of sufficient power to knock out Earth tech and temporarily scramble some function of a Yandroid. There are also backup knives and bullets, in the event of critical power loss.

Hi! Happy to be your co-GM. Be careful you don't blow your cover, Yandroid pilots, the PCAA would be terrified if their presence on Earth was discovered, and one wrong move could reveal the whole operation! Remember, there are many girls who want Senpai, so your competition may not just come from other Yandroids, perhaps even from some people who aren't interested in Senpai's affections due to other reasons. Be especially careful for the crafty, curious types who think they have a lead and want to follow up...

Your crew is going to be really tiny, the inspiration vid linked in the OP should give you a good sense of many of the concepts that went into this. Because that's what inspirational material does! Inspires things!

MELARESI YANDROID KITAMOTO REIDA

Faction

  • Faction name: Melaresi
  • Racial description: The Melaresi, so named after their homeworld of Melara, are a race of semiaquatic mammals, analogous in some respects to Earth otters, or sea lions. They are bipedal and possess hands like most races, but between their digits exists a webbing allowing them to swim. They can hold their breath for up to ten minutes at a time. The Melaresi are obligate carnivores, feeding mostly off fish, though the monstrous insects of this world also make for good prey. Their extremely angular faces are adorned with whiskers that are especially adept at sensing fine movements through water, such as that of light currents or the twitching of their prey.
  • Faction History: While the Melaresi's comfort in aquatic environments meant their expansion was limited, they were able to branch out and establish colonies on Bianco, Adige, and Po (along with the latter two's moons: Adigetto and Poazzo). They are chiefly known to the galaxy now as a supplier of large-claiber ballistic weaponry, explosively or magnetically propelled, for installation in stationary terrestrial mounts, terrestrial naval mounts, or stellar naval mounts both starship and station. Melaresi beast-vehicles can commonly be spotted at human military museums, wearing expressions of awe and perhaps even envy.
  • Reason Yanderium is sought by faction: While Yanderium is not required to power Melaresi weaponry- one of the main attractions of their ballistic solutions over more advanced capital-grade energy weaponry- the Melaresi need the rare crystals to power their massive terraforming infrastructure. Water is a volatile substance, difficult to keep bound to a planetary surface outside certain conditions. A constant supply of Yanderium is vital to the Melaresi to keep their colonies waterbound.

Kitamoto Reida

  • (Japanese naming order)
  • General Information: Melaresi Yandroids are mostly organic with mechanical and highly advanced computerized control systems. Grown from genetically modified humans, these bodies lack a brain. The skull above the mouth is removed completely, and all the necessary mechanical systems are placed inside a cage-like structure that forms the shape of the new skull. This is then plated over and then obscured by regrowing the skin and tissue around it. The only way to tell the Yandroid is artificial is to perform an X-ray on the head, or to catch it while one of its weapon ports are open: the roof of the mouth or the nose. The seams for these weapon ports are too small to observe without optical aid. The organic body is regulated by a computerized control system linked to an AI unit that represents the automated personality. This AI can appear in holographic form to the crew inside, but cannot be removed from the body or the body would die. This specific unit is based on a Melaresi air defense platform.
  • Metrics:
    • Eye Color: Blue
    • Hair Color: Dark gold
    • Height: 160cm
    • Weight/Build: 55kg, athletic
    • Age/Year: 16, first-year
  • Appearance: Reida is not very strong, but is quick in any medium, training for running and swimming. Her hair sits at an intersection of colors, what one might call 'dirty blonde' if it weren't for a touch of red. Her complexion isn't nearly as remarkable, and she easily burns in the sun, especially from its reflection off water. Too much sun exposure skips right over tan and straight to a somewhat sickly ashen undertone, so she is always careful to apply sunscreen. Her blue eyes betray an ancestry that might cause sun intolerance. Reida's hair is shortened by an elaborate, tight bun to be manageable; while it would fall to her middle back when loosened, the hair left to hang free barely grazes the top of her shoulders. It's held in place by a small but ornate hairpiece on top, crested by a blue topaz gem. She is rarely seen without a small simple choker with an orangish crystal in a simple cut affixed to the front, worn even while swimming
  • AI Personality Imprint: Always a middling student (perhaps due to her distracted nature, as the AI core is by no means stupid), most of Reida's school success came from sports. In the classroom she is reserved and cautious, seemingly unsure of how to handle either classwork or social interaction. On the field, however, a competitive streak shines through. Reida loves any outdoor activity, especially challenges of agility. She even seems much more comfortable around other people with just the sky over her head.
  • Original Skills: Reida is an excellent swimmer, and has taken her skills to the school's swim team. She is also a capable sprinter, though only participating in track if it doesn't interfere with her main team loyalty. She's able to spot metallic objects from great distances, make out and follow airborne objects easily, and can estimate distances very well.
  • Modifications: Reida was chosen by the Melaresi for their contribution to the Senpai Campaign due to her aquatic prowess. Her hairpiece is in fact a complex and powerful aerial search radar, with a tracking radar inside each eye alongside the optical sensors networked together for better resolution. The crystal in her choker is a citrine quartz resonator for a sonar system. The hairpiece and choker communicate with the vehicle's core via magnetic linkages, allowing their removal to maintain cover. Due to the necessity of keeping the launch tube in her nose clear, Reida is immune to headcolds and any symptoms that cause nasal congestion.
    • Turret: Reida is piloted by a crew of four within Reida's head, the crew space called 'the turret'. The pilot and gunner sit forward of the magazines on either side of the gun mount in the head, with the commander behind the pilot and the missile operator behind the gunner, each on top of a magazine. The commander has access to feeds from all of the sophisticated sensors integrated into Reida's design, along with the missile system operator, who can also assist the gunner with the main cannon. Above the crew compartment is the FES-ADATS storage bay; the missile operator must load the launch rack manually. Due to how important the AI core is to the unit's operation, the turret is heavily shielded from electrical effects and CBN-protected.
    • Weapons: Reida is equipped with two weapon systems, which due to their original anti-air role have an incredibly long range and are highly accurate
      • The first is derived from the naval weapons that made Melaresi famous: an autocannon of proportions normally only seen on light tanks or as secondary armament on starships. Despite its relatively large size, it can still fire at a respectable sixty rounds a minute. It is fed by two 35-round magazines. One contains high-explosive ammunition that can be fused to explode by distance to target, showering them with shrapnel, or to explode on contact. The other contains armor piercing rounds designed to defeat armored vehicles. The weapon is deployed by a hatch in the roof of the mouth, and sticks out the mouth like a cigarette or a straw. Controlled from the Gunner station
      • The other weapon system is a collection of fourteen FES-ADATS (Full Environmental Spectrum - Air Defense Anti-Tank System) missiles. These are equally capable of tracking and destroying aircraft or surface vehicles, and can be fired underwater or in vacuum to act as torpedoes. The firing rail for these is folded behind the nose; it first swings inward from a hinge at the bridge of the nose and the missile operator manually loads the missile on the rail. The waterproof blast doors behind the nose then open, and the missile moves into the nasal cavity. Missiles can be stored in ready position here with no outward sign, but if one looks up the nostrils the waiting missile will be visible. When ready to fire, the missile swings outward even more, doors opening on the front of the nose to allow it to escape, its exhaust being vented out the nostrils. Controlled by the Missile Operator
      • At the very top of the head, above the missile storage rack, is a multipurpose field projector. in its default configuration it protects the turret from penetrating radiation, making its internals immune to sensor scans, and shrouds the ammo racks in shaped fields that would redirect ammo explosions out the back of the skull. This field can be reconfigured to serve several purposes such as bending, absorbing, or projecting light, creating energy shields, and manipulating objects on a very basic level. It does not have much range past the surface of the body, and when in physical barrier operation care must be taken to not damage the organic body of the unit. In its air defense role, this field could be used to manipulate the unit's own radar signatures to spoof antiradar munitions. This field is controlled by the pilot.

Crew

  • Name(s): Cosimo and Chrysanthe Constantine
  • Faction: Taskforce P.O.W.E.R. (Pursuing Overreaching Weapons and Energy Renaissances) is a military group dedicated to obtaining glory and power for the Mundus High Command through great deeds of military might and acquisition of great riches—such as Yanderium.
  • Description: Cosimo and Chrysanthe are Mundus, a race of silicon-based people formed out of marble. Each one has a literally statuesque figure, with features and bodies appearing carved as if by artists. Their government is an elected, modernized oligarchy. Individual Mundus folk can paint themselves to add personal touches, but otherwise there is little physical variation between them. Cosimo and Chrysanthe, married and soldiers, bear stylized paintings of gold filigree over their hearts and stylized gold gauntlets over their hands, but otherwise dress in standard Mundus Legionnaire combat armor when on duty, and simple clothing of the Mundus underclass when relaxing.
  • History: Cosimo and Chrysanthe are young lovers. Having joined the Mundus Space Marine Corps at a young age, they both fell in love through their mutual love of their work. Cosimo loved Chrysanthe's ability to see the other side of every situation, be that argument or firefight, she could always lend Cosimo some stability. Chrysanthe fell in love with Cosimo's passion, his ability to ignite fires both literal and metaphorical. When their tours of duty were over, they joined up with Taskforce P.O.W.E.R. to continue their adventures. Their ability to work together almost flawlessly intrigued the P.O.W.E.R. higher-ups and got them
  • Skills: Both Cosimo and Chrysanthe are well-trained soldiers with a decade of military training each under their belts. They are capable of fighting perfectly in synch with one another due to the powerful bonds of love, and when engaged in personal combat wield combat knives and assault rifles. Cosimo typically handles communication and fine motor skills, while Chrysanthe handles engineering, brute force, and combat. Cosimo has picked up on archery as the only club for Eiko—any more and she might ruin the image of the Badass Delinquent Girl. Chrysanthe is also very skilled at handiwork—anything around the house, she maintains, and Eiko has an ad in the paper about that, but it's not in any official capacity at the school.

Yandroid

  • Name: Eiko Satsu
  • Age and School Year: 17, second-year.
  • Appearance: The self-described "Bandit Queen of Kyoto" dresses in all the typical bancho delinquent styles, but is made up and accessorized with many aspects of high fashion such as (stolen) expensive handbags, (stolen) ribbons, and (stolen) brilliant makeup. Her clothes typically stay revealing and emphasize her chest, while minimizing her abs—hiding the cockpit by doing so.
  • History: Eiko's parents are potters running a small pottery shop back home in Kyoto. Boring and restrictive, Eiko quickly tired of the quiet life and, just on a whim, started stealing shit. Then she realized that smashing shit and fighting folks was fun too, and that there was an entire community built around it, and that you could totally take leadership of your community if you tried hard enough—which was exactly what Eiko did. She viciously pounded her way to the top in the first half of the first year with superhuman durability, strength, and cunning, then cemented a small criminal empire of other female delinquents in the second half of the year. She transferred to Sakae Esuno (living alone in an apartment!) because people just couldn't handle her at her old school.
  • Personality: Eiko is ambitious and full of energy. Senpai is a beautiful person, and he deserves to enjoy life to its fullest—so she wants to show him a life he'd never see. She loves the adrenaline of breaking the law, and thinks that to do so is a privilege—meaning also that nobody better be busting shit up in this school without her say so! Senpai is one of the few people she's never ever wanted to punch, but that doesn't mean she's gonna play all demure and sweet like everyone else!
  • Weapons: Eiko was constructed by soldiers, not engineers, and through either engineering mishap or sabotage she was not built entirely right. While filled to the brim with weapons, there is no deployment system. She must actually be injured in order to reveal the weapons inside of her.
    • Huge Schoolgirl: Even without weaponry, Eiko is an enormous delinquent girl who has supposedly been fighting for awhile now. She is capable of delivering vicious punches and kicks, and can lift someone twice her size above her head. If she really needs to "go loud," Chrysanthe steps in with her special forces training to give Eiko a suite of powerful takedowns, disarms, and submission holds.
    • Blades: Eiko's fingers, hands, toes, and feet all hide steel blades, each between six and eight inches, ready to extend and attack should she lose a finger. Losing her whole hand reveals them as a bundle of five sharp blades. If her feet or legs are too damaged for use, she can forcefully remove the exterior to give herself an extremely sharp peg-leg.
    • Eye cannon: Should Eiko take a significantly powerful blow to the face, enough to cause a black eye, the veneer behind the eye can crack, revealing a powerful single-shot cannon that takes time to charge up, audibly but harmlessly ionizing a single target over the course of thirty seconds until discharging a pulse of electricity equivalent to an actual lightning bolt.
    • Predator Missiles: Every one of Eiko's teeth can double as a miniaturized guided missile once they leave her mouth, rocketing into her enemies and burrowing into them about as well as real human teeth. Once lodged inside, the teeth can explode to deal some real damage.
    • Mass Drive Impulser: Probably the last line of defense. Should Eiko lose an arm, she can simply pick that shit up and keep fighting. Once severed, the point between the shoulder and the torso becomes a rocket booster, turning the arm into a powerful and deceptively fast warhammer.

Aww, thank you Sere! I figured that I could build someone a little more heavily loaded if it was gated like that, and also the whole Terminator Eye thing is always cool so I had to do that. How are clubs going to figure into this, anyhow? Skill contests to impress Senpai and "accidentally" injure your cohorts?

Crew

  • Name(s): G'Kora (Squad Leader), B'Brasa (Tactical Specialist), Moc (Technician) and M'Grena (Social Situations Analyst).
  • Faction: The First Great and Bountiful Vixis Republic
  • Description: The Vixi are a species of quadrupedal amphibians from a tropical, swampy planet with a dense atmosphere. Males and females look very similar and it is often hard for other species to tell them apart. They are covered in porous, white, slimy skin and have fins on their long necks, which occupy much of the space that a torso might on other species. Two long, dexterous arms end in hands with five long fingers each, all with webbing between them. The head is very snake-like, and eyes are usually yellow.
    • The First Great and Bountiful Vixis Republic is the first government formed by the newly-unified vixi people. The Republicā€™s formation was met with tremendous support from the people and much jubilation. It is a Representative Democracy with general elections held every 8 years.
  • History: In the interest of expanding the Republicā€™s power and influence on the galactic scene, the government began Project Desu; a concerted effort to secure more Yanderium, and thus more leverage, by any and all means necessary. This spawned Project Kongou when the Republic learned of Earth and this ā€œsenpaiā€ creature, leading to the creation of advanced mecha technologies and Operation Konnichiwa, the infiltration of Sakae Esuno High School, ostensibly in cooperation with the Multirole Acquisition Division. To that end, a team of highly experienced specialists was assembled to pilot the mecha and represent the Republicā€™s interests.
    • G'Kora is a veteran of two pre-Republic wars and has had a long, highly decorated career as a Tank Commander. He excels at on-the-fly strategizing and keeping up crew morale.
    • B'Brasa is a former Special Forces trooper. Although much of his career is classified, he is a master of combat. From CQC to sniping to missiles, if itā€™s military, odds are heā€™s skilled with it.
    • Moc was instrumental in designing the Republicā€™s prototype mechas, and was equally imperative in their maintenance and construction. As one of the Republicā€™s finest engineers, it seemed only natural that he should be involved.
    • M'Grena, a former intelligence agent, has studied Earth culture and society extensively. Employing her talent for persuasion and reading people ā€“ even aliens as strange as humans ā€“ she is in charge of ensuring that their mecha ā€œfits in.ā€
  • Skills: In the interest of preparing themselves for the complex mission ahead, all four crew members have been trained in how to operate the mecha for a variety of common Earth activities, including many sports and social activities. In the event of combat, however, all crew members also know how to operate the mecha for basic karate, though B'Brasa can operate the mecha in a variety of Earth martial arts, including advanced kung-fu and aikido.

Yandroid

  • Name: Motoko ā€œKiryuinā€ Smith.
  • Age and School Year: 18, 3rd year.
  • Appearance: Isn't she sweet?
    • Long, straight, light brown hair. Vibrant green eyes. Bust size slightly exceeds average. Typically sports a common schoolgirl uniform (white blouse, checkered skirt with white stockings), however the skirt is exactly 1.5 inches shorter than whatā€™s typical. In combination with stockings that are also slightly too short and the bust size, Motoko and her outfit were designed to be subtly different, in an alluring way. Small pink bow on the back of the head.
  • History: ALLEGEDLY, Motoko come from a wealthy Canadian family. Her father, an Albertan oil baron, married her stock broker mother and together they decided to move to Japan and start a family there because they were both huge weeaboos. Thus, Motoko was born in Tokyo and learned Japanese as her first language.
    • She is a straight-A student who also keeps busy with a variety of extracurricular activities. In particular, she is president of the Gold Club, and also a member of the student council (though not yet in an executive position).
  • Personality: So far as anyone else is aware, Motoko is a caring, intelligent young lady who strives to make the world a better place for everyone, even if only through small, daily acts of kindness. She is polite, proper, generous and a model student.
  • Weapons: Motokoā€™s primary weapon is the Laser Cannon concealed in her left forearm. Comes complete with optional Hollywood Silencer, for quiet vaporization. Silencer is stored within a hidden compartment concealed behind where the left abdominal external oblique muscle would be.
    • Small, automated turrets can also deploy from the tops of the shoulders. For the mechaā€™s purposes, their primary use is missile defence, but they can also act as anti-personnel cannons for anything the size of the vixi.
    • A combat knife is concealed within the right thigh.
  • Defences and Other Tech: Green eyes conceal a sophisticated sensor suite, which can switch between three different modes: infrared, ultraviolent, and visible light.
    • In an emergency, or when tactically appropriate, the shoes open up and the toes eject with a customizable level of force. The toes then explode, forming a dense mix of smoke, chaff and electromagnetic interference, temporarily scrambling enemy Yandroid sensors and frying most Earth electronics within 15 feet (also provides a way to hide from Senpai).
    • The top of the head hides a grappling hook, which can be used to pull Motoko out of danger or simply reposition her into a more advantageous position. In the event that the eyes are insufficient or in use, the hook can be aimed via he bow on her head, which doubles as an auxiliary sensor array.
    • The bellybutton conceals a forcefield generator, which forms a protective, one-way energy barrier around Motoko when active.
    • Motoko has extensive internal armour and much of her human skeleton has been replaced by stronger materials. This means that she is considerably more resistant to damage than any baseline humanoid body, and the added weight can add more power to her strikes. Unfortunately, it also means that she has difficulty swimming and is somewhat heavier than most people expect.
    • High concentrations of polymethyldreamose can cause the vocal processor to malfunction slightly, causing an occasional stutter. Although originally considered a glitch, it is now considered a feature because ā€œitā€™s cute, and heā€™ll totally go for that.ā€

The listed weapon loadout does seem a little over the top to me. Taco is in the lead for most armed-to-the-teeth- literally- but the Yandroid needs to take specific forms of damage for weapons to become usable, and most of these systems are melee besides. You have two primary ranged weapons with additional secondaries, coupled with increased protection and an array of different defensive countermeasures, and can use all of it from the get-go with the only drawback of their lack of stealth, something which every other unit's weapons suffer from except for camouflage here and there. The concept may not have been clear in the signup thread but the game was put together with the assumption that we wont be going all Robot Wars in the streets every time night falls, and it might be that a Yandroid never uses its built-in weapons through the whole game. Normal human weapons like knives and the occasional handgun are perfectly capable of, if not outright decommissioning, at least mission-killing another Yandroid as they have to retreat due to the damage revealing their true forms. Frankly a powerful pistol should be stronger than 90% of the armament Yandroids are equipped with and your armament should be structured in such a way to make those options attractive. Taco explicitly mentions this possibility even with his grocery list of armament.

Alright, I'll trim the list.

EDIT: Changed the main gun to only laser + silencer, removed the other arm-gun, removed chest-missiles, removed extra armour. Better?

Looks a lot better. With it that short you can probably add the better armor back in, but remember that your cover may suffer from it, depending how deep the plates are and what injuries you sustain. Should hope you don't need x-rays if you ever go to a human clinic!

Wouldn't the fear of x-ray machines be present for everyone? I mean, nose-missiles and finger-blades will show up just as well as any arm-canon or endoskeletal armour. tongue

EDIT: re-added armour.

I am definitely interested in signing up.

I just have a slight problem; that being my pilots. Basically, I want to take a different tack and play the pilots as tiny robots that I am totally not sporking from the game Hawken - which means they were basically built as war robots, with boost thrusters, a fair (but varying) amount of armor, and (with few exceptions) two-built in weapons each. They do have regular arms and hands, but they go in the slots the weapons go in - and it's not exactly easy to switch between them, so they need to pick between "fight mode" and "manipulator mode".

The thing I'm primarily worried about is that as purpose-built war machines they might be too strong in any potential mini-alien fights that pop up. I am entirely willing to work around this and come up with something different if need be; in fact, the entire reason for this post is just me wanting to clear shit up before I go and do anything that I'll regret.

Please advise.

[up][up]Energy fields could potentially block or spoof them, while robots with parts restricted to certain areas wouldn't have to be worried about injuries elsewhere being treated. Taco would be kinda fugged in that regard but his Yandroid is basically looking to be injured. It's a balance of utility vs stealth.

I honestly don't see the going-to-a-hospital scenario actually happening, but it's something to think about. Lots of consequences when you get injured if that injury reveals your not-so-human nature.

[up]Couple ideas off the top of my head: You could have pilots in Hawken-like suits when outside the Yandroid, or these robots are guards for the Yandroid's rest/repair facilities (Everyone would probably have a small staff of nameless mooks to help maintain the equipment, just as any tank or jet has its own engineering team) but not associated with the vehicles crew

[up] ...That would actually be a pretty good idea, having the Hawken mechs as heavy assault suits. Thanks for the feedback.

I think I'll make the "pilots" robots, too. Just so I can get that turtles-all-the-way-down feeling of playing a bunch of robots who can pilot a bunch of robots that are piloting a much larger, human-like robot. It seems like it'd fit this RP pretty well, given the subject matter.

I'll get to work on the character sheet. The latest it'll be in is tomorrow.

I find this pretty funny for some reason. We've reversed the natural order! Why, science? Why?!

Alright. I went relatively conservative with the weapons, but if anything strikes as being too much warbot, just let me know. Of course, any weapons are assumed to not actually be on display externally - deploying only in combat against other Yandroids.

The Crew

  • Names: Brommens, Zos (minus the steel wings), Malk, and Spree.
  • Faction: The Sovereign Nation of Crion.
  • Description: Crion is an almost entirely artificial nation - its populace consists entirely of robots. They don't build much for aesthetic pleasures - in fact, Crionese are a race of AI, so they switch between bodies as necessary, though they usualy have somewhat presentable "neutral bodies" in the times they're not working. The Crionese live on their planet of Ilial - a planet being ravaged by the Hawken nanovirus, converting the planet into a grey goo nightmare - which has mandated a Crionese spread to other planets. While there is significant infighting over where the new capital planet will be, there is a lot of time, too - the Hawken virus is working slowly, and is expected to eat the planet in the next 200 years. Crion is notable for being a major provider of machinery - while it is very ugly, it can take super-heavy knocks and is practically guaranteed to work, with "lifetime warranties" being the norm, such is their pride.
  • History:
    • Brommens used to work for Ilial Elite SWAT, and was conscripted into the program due to its need for hand-to-hand combat as well as being somewhat personable.
    • Zos, after flipping through several different jobs, decided he liked being a mechanic (the Crionese equivalent of a doctor) - and so has an encyclopedic knowledge of machinery and parts.
    • Malk used to be a metalworker, but she always had a love for weapons, and so became the weapons officer on-board.
    • Finally, Spree was a former special forces sniper, and is on-call for sabotage ops.
  • Skills:
    • As former SWAT, Brommens knows multiple ways to non-lethally subdue both organic and machine targets - so he was a natural fit for the Yandroid's pilot.
    • Zos is the repairman - fixing up things the swarms of repair drones on-board can't.
    • Malk, as said before, is weapons officer.
    • Spree is excellent at sneaking and long range combat. She can fill in for either of the other pilots, but doesn't necessarily need to, and when not on sabotage ops serves as the guard of the Yandroid.
  • Weapons: Brommens and Malk carry small machine pistols for self-defense. Zos carries a shotgun inside his Axe, but generally lets its weapons do the talking. Finally, Spree carries a bullpup assault rifle.
    • Naturally, once they have left the Yandroid, they carry heavier arms - generally assault rifles, though Spree has access to a sniper and Malk a machine gun at the Crionese base.
  • Axes: Notably, each of the crew possesses an Axe - a twelve-foot-tall battle robot that serves as part of the "guard" for the Crionese Yandroid base on Earth. The only Axe that regularly serves inside the Yandroid, however, is Zos's Technician - which is not geared towards combat at all, and is primarily used to assist in repairs. In the event of an attack, Brommens can pilot the jack-of-all-trades Assault (equipped with a heavy machine gun and an unguided missile launcher), Malk pilots the heavy support Incinerator (carrying a rotary autocannon that puts out a lot of heat, and a gun that can fire that heat at targets), and Spree drives the small, but accurate Reaper (equipped with a semi-auto gun, and a long-range sabot rifle). Zos, in the meanwhile, drives the Technician, equipped with a repair torch for internal repairs in a jiffy. These four Axes are the only ones present, however, and they are used purely in base defense roles. If necessary, a supplemental sheet on the Axes can be drafted.
  • Reason for Yanderium: It's a hell of a drug. Yanderium, as in the OP, is an even more potent source of energy than "Vitrolium" - the waste of the planet's indigenous life forms that eat the Giga-Structure the Hawken nanovirus is making out of the planet. In addition, it is also a guaranteed safe harvest - far more than Vitrolium harvests, often far away from safety.

Yandroid

  • Name: Brunhild Bach, official name "G2-Jaeger"
  • Age and School Year: 17, second-year.
  • Appearance: Bing. Just imagine she's German.
  • History: Brunhild transferred to Sakae Esuno primarily so she could become more globally conscious; out of many different schools, that particular one was selected randomly. Brunhild is hoping that she will be able to join the Luftwaffe after high school - to that end, she is taking physics courses to prepare her for the aerodynamics of flight, as well as some machining courses, as she feels it may be applicable to her job. (This means that I am not entirely sure what after-school clubs she will join - suggestions would be much appreciated).
  • Personality: Naturally, a lot of gratuitous German. Brunhild is a very, very hard worker, and will often shun most responsibilities to study - though given that Brunhild is actually a bio-robot trying to abduct a human, certain things (by which we of course mean Senpai) will be exceptions to the rule. She is generally a fairly chill individual, though in competitions a streak of cockiness and competitiveness emerges, and like all of the other Yandroids she likes Senpai. A lot. Enough to kill. Really, the question is what wouldn't she do for that particular Klondike bar.
  • Weapons: Located inside Brunhild's legs are impact hammers - electromagnetically-powered pile bunkers. They will only trigger on contact with another Yandroid, and only if the heel of her foot makes contact with the target - as that is the only way for the hammer to connect. In addition, Brunhild's right arm carries rocket boosters in the elbows and retractable studs in the fingers to allow for significantly more damaging punches against Yandroids. Brunhild's last "weapon" is a defense - four retracting point-defense miniguns, two on her shoulders, one just below her chest, and one on her back, that will attempt to destroy incoming projectiles - though they certainly cannot stop everything.
  • Defense Systems: Naught but really, really, really heavy armor. Thanks to being made of an alloy containing Cavorite - an ore with gravity-defying properties - the armor is still somewhat light, but can take a large amount of punishment. However, it still makes a noticeable difference in Brunhild's weight, and she has no other real defensive systems besides her point-defense network - which cannot stop everything.
  • Other Modifications: Notably, Brunhild's layer of "skin" is capable of regeneration, given enough time. It doesn't provide any real protection - however, it was designed to ablate easily in a fight, and to regenerate within approximately twelve hours, given an external power source. While it can regenerate on its own in the absence of one... it will take a significant amount of time. In addition, Brunhild contains a fairly advanced sensor package... okay, I lied, it's basically just radar, LIDAR, and magnetic sensors that look for large amounts of non-biological material inside humans so that their status as a Yandroid or human being can clearly be established.

[up] Apologies. Relatively twelve feet tall, to the size of the mini-robots piloting the schoolgirl.

I probably should have made that clearer. But yeah, now that you mention it, it does seem sorta ridiculous, so I think I might drop that entirely if it's still too unbelievable.
