Because people like Metroidvanias and the last one was... Portrait of Ruin? OOE wasn't really a MV, since it was more of a stage-by-stage game.
Anyhoo, I'm pumped for the monster designs.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Ah, a friend of mine just mentioned this today.
The protagonist looks like the lovechild of Alucard and Shanoa kinda.
When you wish upon a side of beef, soon will come an end to all your griefThe Mighty No. 9 people mass-emailed everyone on their mailing list about it. That's probably why.
The Protomen enhanced my life.Oh, Shanoa is getting a second game. Rare for Castlevania protagonists
In all seriousness, I'm looking forward to this. Always been more fond of the Castlevania side of metroidvanias
Annnnnd...it's funded.
Congrats to the people who wanted something resembling Castlevania.
So that's Bloodstained hitting its target in a day, because publishers were so right when they told us all we didn't like these games.

Seeing as Konami's doing everything in its power to Hate Sink itself out of existence faster and faster every day, it only makes sense for IGA to capitalize on it.
I'm going to pass on this game, though. Aside from Symphony of the Night, the only Igarashi-directed Castlevanias I really liked were Aria of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin.
I hope you get tiny bits of eggshell in all your omelettes for the rest of your life!Konami may be doing a lot of stuff I don't like, but I don't know what they have to go through so I'll try not to judge.
That being said, I am so on the hype train for this, and I really hope it does as well as, say, Shovel Knight and MN 9 from a funding, commercial and critical perspective. It's actually funny how much MN 9 and Bloodstained dwarf SK's funding, but SK was less budget intensive anyway.
I also find it heartwarming how many fans, developers and gaming personalities are trying to help out.
And I'm getting that Whip Sword because I'm an idiot who likes being poor.

The fast response is probably due to the Sword or Whip site that, over the last week or so, piqued peoples' curiosity, started putting an #igavania tag out on Twitter, and announced today as the date for an announcement.
People were waiting very expectantly for this announcement, as a result.
I have a message from another time...I would like to add that Miriam is the most waifu character I've seen in years. She is absolutely moe, she has cake and everything.
Perhaps i'm just a sucker for that sort of thing because I think it's working on me. I find myself feeling very attached to this character I know nothing about.
I hope David Hayter voices her as well.
EDIT: Gebel is potentially a better waifu, though.

Wow. Miriam is basically Shanoa in all but name.

I have a message from another time...Aaand they've already completed all the stretch goals on the first damn day. David Hayter confirmed!

I'm amused by the Youtube Partner clans. The Zaibatsu clan is tempting.
Also, wait. There's a Game Grumps clan and an Egoraptor clan? Arin gets two clans?

I have a message from another time...That Kickstarter video was not subtle. No way in Hell am I donating to it, but I do appreciate the giant middle finger towards Konami.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.aria of sorrow and order of ecclesia are the best igavanias, honestly. most of the others just blend together and the anime art they used for dawn and portrait is complete garbage.
so fa as i know he doesn't like the metroid-esque castlevanias so i can't see him agreeing to promote this game.

Funnily enough, I have the exact opposite opinion
well opinions are opinions. to me, they have the best gameplay, best music, best plots (not that castlevania storyline is good, but still), best art direction/character design, etc.
the controls in circle of the moon are ass and made me stop playing after like an hour, the soundtrack to harmony of dissonance is like nails on a chalkboard, etc. not saying they're bad games, i just don't care about them.
similarly dawn of sorrow and portrait of ruin have fucking awful anime art which turns me off completely, though Po R's character change system does seem like a fun addition. again, they're probably decent games, i just like ecclesia a lot more. i actually appreciate the fact that it's linear since it meant they didn't just copy Symphony of the Night wholesale, which is the main problem the series had that led to it stagnating and dying out.
so with that said, the best igas are sotn, ecclesia, and aria in that order.

I loved Portrait of Ruin, but I still can't beat the final boss. :( Stupid crushing wings attack.
The Protomen enhanced my life.My favorites of the seven castletroid games are Symphony, Harmony, and Order, with honorable mentions going to Circle and Aria.
Order, while having not really good explorational stage design, at least had great story.
Symphony and Harmony have the best stage design.
Symphony, Circle, and Harmony have the best music.
Also, clearly, Robert Belgrade should voice Miriam.

Good to know that Iga has been doing something ever since ragequitting Konami.
Also, am I the only one who likes the Classicvanias more than the Metroidvanias (not that I dislike the latter)? I personally can't associate Castlevania with the exploration and prefer the tricky platforming and killing things with a whip.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page. You're not really alone, Angry Videogame Nerd stated once Classicvanias were his favourite. I always liked both, they had thier merits, I suppose the RPG elements in the Metroidvania were what made it sell better, there is also that around that point the plot started getting a bit more complex, so that may be the case.
The idea of this game having Guilty Gear Xrd style graphics makes me salivate.
Anyway, I beat CV 1, 3, Ro B and Adventure Rebirth, along with Cot M, Ho D, Ao S, Po R, Oo E, Do S and finally Sot N. My favorite Classicvania is Rondo of Blood and my favorite... I guess we should say "Igavania", now, used to be Aria until I played Symphony which pushed it into a close second.
I try not to compare the two styles, since they're so different, but I have a special fondness for the Metroid style (despite only beating two of those games. Man, I suck).
I wonder if hiring David Hayter has something to do with hiring Kiefer Sutherland for Snake.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.
So, Inti Creates has teamed up with Koji Igarashi to release yet ANOTHER spiritual successor. This time, to the Igavania games that along with Metroid started a whole genre.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/iga/bloodstained-ritual-of-the-night Jesus, it's clearing it's goals fast. This was posted on the former official Azure Striker Gunvolt page. Where else was it posted? How in the name of Dracula did it take off so quickly?
