Emma's Death in Metal Gear Solid 2. I liked her but mostly it's Otacon's completely falling apart that hurts the most. It just...it hits you right where it hurts. And then he and Snake have their bro moment which is emotional in its own very profound way.

Jin's Death in Xenosaga Episode III was also really well done and is the only other moment I can recall crying in a game. There have bee other moments than these two but they're the only ones that come to mind.

Although, while it didn't make me cry, I have to nominate two scenes from Heavy Rain.

1. After Jason's death. Just the way the happy, sunny, perfect world and life of Ethan Mars transforms into the real beginning of the game, with the new, darker world full of rain and with a sweltering atmosphere of "what has my life become...why am I even still alive." You can say a lot without saying anything and the game did a great job with that there.

2. Shelby burning the evidence. I loved you, Scott. Lauren loved you.

Mario Kart DS' credits made me cry as a kid. There is a special credits for finishing Mirror, and after beating it for the first time (8 years after playing it for the first time as a kid), I was happy. Happy feels. Why?

Because not only the music starts similar to the normal credits theme, it later gets more faster and less solemn, and even more powerful to reflect how far you have come throughout your Mario Kart DS journey, now that your journey is far from over...it's only just the beginning.

And the funny thing is? I beaten the whole game for the 1st time ONLY A FEW WEEKS AGO.

To the Moon made me cry several times while playing; mostly the revelation of Johnny being a twin, the promise, and the ending.

[[Video Game/Bastion Bastion]] and [[Video Game/Transistor Transistor]] were both good at this, the latter in particular. I think [1] made me cry at the heroes sacrificing themselves to uplift the other A.I.s.

Fallout New Vegas:

The human sacrifice vault is one of the scariest, and most frightening stories in the whole game.

The DLC ending for Old World Blues, and Dead Money. Old World Blues in particular is just so uplifting, and it really gives you hope for the future of the Wasteland.

Games I have cried at:

Metal Gear Solid 3: The end where Eva talks about The Boss.

Ghost Trick: The end where Sissel and Yomiel talk one last time.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time: The end where your partner breaks down at the beach.

A weird example that got me all worked up was when I first saw the trailer for FinalFantasyX2. There's this really short scene, where Yuna and Tidus are being chased and then shot by soldiers, when in fact it was Yuna reliving Lenne and Shuyin's death at the hand of Bevelle. I didn't understand a thing, but this scene coupled with FFX's ending, had me hopeful and upset at the same time.

Also many thanks to those of you who have already participated in my survey!

I think Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers gets the award for "Most Feel-Induced Game Of All Time".

And yes, I'm a victim of the game- I mean, had some moments with Explorers. Very minor unlike the ending. Guess what made me cry?

The quiet, peaceful, yet somber song that plays in the beginning/ending at the beach.

Try to listen to it right next to your ear and think of the memories of your adventure. It will make you flood tears. WHY CHUNSOFT, WHY?! (sob)

Does the title have "Metal" and "Gear" in it? In that order? Bingo. All of them at the usual parts, except for 4. What pushes me to the point of tears in 4 isn't Eva's death, or anything in Shadow Moses, or the Microwave Corridor. Not Otacon talking to Sunny, or Snake in the graveyard, or Big Boss*.

What makes me cry like a puppy on its first night with a family - and I am proud to say this - is Raiden meeting his son, and all the sheer goddamned love in that scene.

*If I didn't lose all my tears in a massive flood during Raiden's scene, I would be crying here as well.

Also, virtually everything in ME 3, including codex entries (partially because of depression, now that I'm undergoing treatment I'm much more stable while playing it).

Lost Odyssey, with that one scene. Superb VA work there too.

I haven't gotten far into LO but every single dream segment gets to me on some level. one of the best examples of localization i've ever seen, and probably the overall best storytelling in a JRPG outside of Nie R I've ever seen.

Yeah the TYO Ds are just heart wrenching, Letters from a Weakling being like the or one of the saddest ones, so much it got me teared up almost. It really adds a lot of depth to Kaim as well.

Also not sad, but hearing this theme from Garou: Mark of The Wolves always puts a smile on my face. It's like the theme of Monday happiness.

Off the top of my head, Little Liar, The Upstreamers and White Flowers were the most memorable for me so far but they were all excellent (but then again i think i've only unlocked like 4 or 5 stories).

it probably helps that LO's score is just really strong and helps the mood of the dreams immesenly. I actually think it's Uematsu's best work.

the beginning of this song never fails to give me feels.

Oh my god so many.

Portal 2 was fine and dandy until The boss battle with Wheatley and the aftermath. Sure, cute lil' Space Core made it kinda funny, but I seriously sobbed my eyes out at Wheatley's too late apology to Chell.

While we're on the subject of Valve, how about the ending of Half Life 2: Episode 3? We think everything's fine and then BAM! Alyx's dad is dead and the last scene before the infamous "Valve can't count to 3" joke was born is her crying and begging for her dad not to die. Ow.

How about Fire Emblem: Awakening? I knew this game was going to rip my heart out after Emmeryn's Heroic Suicide but the level after that, and the fact that Mustafa has such a big heart, and I can't seem to be able to give him a quick death, or avoid as many of his soldiers as possible...and then any of the cutscenes involving Lucina/the Bad Future were just...ow. Then the ending. I chose to have my MU kill Grima instead of Chrom, and Morgan's reaction at the end of it all made me BAWL.

And I cry whenever my Sims die. Yes, I'm that kind of sims player.

It's a mod, but the Mass Effect Happy Ending Mod (MEHEM) rarely fails to move me. The Suicide Mission track is powerful and it really makes you feel like you just got victory and I feel like cheering with the soldiers in the movies. Heck the entire thing is a great way to get some positive feeling after all the loss and all the BS that ME 3 makes you deal with. I remember one run where after the mod ran its course, I just sat back in positive, silent awe and just gave a thumbs up. It's all simple, but dam effective.

More on Mass Effect, Garrus Vakarian in general. An immortal, badass, Turian space bro who's always there with me and at my back. He's my brother in those games and is there with me through all the BS. It's not wonder why he's one of my favorite fictional characters.

People mention PMD Explorers? That's decent game and it has its emotional moments as well (though I never cry at a game). Grovyle, why?! Luckily I put him back in my team as a permanent member, but why?!

Also this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvkLJu4O4pM . Pure epicness.

I'm sure there's others, but this come to mind.

Mass Effect 3, without MEHEM, with A)a Male Shep B)romancing Jack C)during Citadel. Most of the DLC is hilarious, but Jack's romance scene is really emotional, and even foreshadows my favorite ending. Thane's memorial is nice too, but this scene takes the cake when it comes to emotions. Honorable mentions go to the salute to all the squadmates in London, and to Mordin's Heroic Sacrifice to save the krogan race on Tuchanka. "Someone else might have gotten it wrong".

If I had to pick a Final Fantasy, that would definitely be Final Fantasy IX. Clayra's destruction and the Steiner x Beatrix sequence always get me - especially the later and its awesome soundtrack. And, oddly enough, Mog's true identity reveal.

Although Aerith's death in VII is to be mentioned, I think it is even more powerful if you have Yuffie and/or Barret and/or Tifa in your team, since they get the most beautiful reactions.

Aside from that, I can't think of a moment without feels during The Walking Dead. Anytime Clem is on screen at least.

For me, it's Star Control II. Hearing about the history of the Ur-Quan, Sentient Milieu and the Dnyarri hit me really close to home. I've seen that happen all too often in Real Life, with good friends from childhood becoming massive arseholes because of what was done to them.

Lots of RP Gs: the MOTHER series, Persona 4, Xenoblade Chronicles, PMD: Explorers, and then some other games like Mega Man Zero (the whole series), Cave Story, Oo T/MM, and lots more. I get invested in Video Game plots. :P

wouldn't say it was an EXCELLENT story, but it was the best and most consistent in the entire series.
