The previous thread was closed as non-conclusive, rather than with a definite "No image" decision. Since this OP includes a suggestion, I'm opening it for discussion.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.That image seems moderately good, although the facial expressions at the right are a bit off-putting - and I am not sure if they fit this trope.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThere are several shows represented on that page. I'm partial to the picture of the Buffy cast.
...Although, it really depends on what we want:
- The one of Freaks And Geeks looks the most like they're actual teenagers, but they're also for the most partclose to the right ages. Two are the right age (the 14-year-old Freshman and the 17-year-old Junior) and four more of them are within three years of the right age. Only the 24-year-old "Junior" is more than five years too old.
- 90210 also looks close to the age they're supposed to be, but they're much farther off from that age.
- The cast of Teen Wolf looks, to me, the closest to their actual ages and the least like the high-school sophmores they're supposed to be.
- The one from Video Game High School is a nice mix; the males look close to the right age, the females look far too old for their characters' supposed age.
Also, so we're all working oin the same page, and most of these are going to be talking about American high-schoolers here's a quick and dirty guide:
- Freshman: the ninth year of school, not counting nursery school, preschool or kindergarten. A freshman generally starts the school year at 13-nearly-14 or 14, depending on when their birthday falls in relation to the start of the school year.
- Sophomore: The tenth year of school. Sophomores are generally 15 or 16.
- Junior: The eleventh year. A Junior is most likely around 17.
- Senior: The twelfth and final year of secondary school. Most Seniors are 18 at graduation.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Yes, it depends on what we want to show. Do we want "these are blatantly adults pretending to be kids"? Then I say Teen Wolf.
Do we want "these adults pull off playing kids quite well"? That's something else entirely.
Or do we want a mix of the two?
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. For the same reason you felt compelled to include this age chart in the discussion, I would prefer a picture that shows what ages the characters are meant to be instead of their American school grade. on the suggestions as is, but if the grades are replaced by the ages
Use the any of the images containing all Sophomores with a caption along the lines of "The characters are 15"
Age instead of grade (wiki-sized)
I did Buffy as an example because that's the one Madrugada mentioned, but if one of the others works better, I could replicate it

I like what Sandbylur suggested. And the Buffy one, at least, works really well that wway.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.It's probably okay. I have a bit of trouble telling ages from appearances, so I probably shouldn't speak too much about that.

8.1 is a pretty great edit. I probably need to expand my vocabulary, because I didn't immediately know what Sophomore refers to. Listing their in-universe ages on the other hand is pretty clear and concise no matter which terms you're used to.
Also, the Buffy cast look pretty old to me. I might also suggest the cast of Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers (or whatever season is running currently).
The wiki-sized version of the Buffy cast works great.
I would prefer the yellow type said "Playing 15-year-olds" or "Characters are 15" or something.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.8.1 looks great. My .
^^ How about "Supposed to be 15-year-olds."
Never mind. "Characters are 15" is better,

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I prefer the more concise "15 year olds" myself
It is too concise, though, that's important information. Maybe:
(But I think "Characters are 15" in the image would be better.)

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.I'd cast my vote for the Glee picture. I don't mind a picture using American terminology when it's an American series — the caption can specify what age the characters are supposed to be for the non-American readers.
Why should we use the American terminology when giving out the age is just as clear for Americans and infinitely more for the rest of the world? If the trope was specifically about what grade the characters are in using the grades would be fine, but it's about the age. We should be talking about age in the picture
I don't mind editing another image or changing the phrasing, but using sophomore or freshman is a massive step back in my opinion

8.1 suffices.
Deadclock's expired and this thread's rotting. Let's just roll with it.
I was liking the image, but then someone mentioned Glee and it made me remember, some of the actors playing students are older than their teachers - would an image that shows that be better?
OH MY GOD; MY PARENTS ARE GARDENIIIIINNNNGGGGG!!!!!This thread's treading water, let's settle this already.

Nominations for replacement images:
I know that last conversation on this didn't go anywhere, but how about one of the pictures from this article?
http://www.dorkly.com/post/70251/the-oldest-high-schoolers
It doesn't exactly rely on a caption when the ages are listed right there. That frees up the caption to add to the picture rather than carry it. And if these are unviable, we can still use a similar theory with some simple Photoshopping.
