Looking For Players [RPs You're Not Sure Anyone Wants You To Start]

Seem like a cool idea.

Seems neat.

Here is my RP idea,

2016. A massive meteor shower and a asteroid impact strikes New York City. This cataclysm is known as the Armageddon Impact which left New York City in ruins. A mysterious emergence of prehistoric animals and plants resurrected from millions of years of extinction.

This event was known as the Lazarus Revival. During this event, the US government declares a lockdown on the New York City and its area to be covered in a force-field dome generated by military camps as quarantine measure.

The US military and the associated defense forces tried giving humanitarian aid and support during the event. Out of Ground Zero there was a mysterious large object known as the Monolith rose up, creating a impenetrable barrier around it.

Soon, it was uncontrollable, prehistoric life and mutant life made by the Monolith overwhelmed the aids, causing the US military to abandon the NYC Quarantine. The government declared the area a No Man's Land. White spores released by the Monolith killed thousands of people with its vile plague and forced thousands into the Subway systems.

28 months later. NYC Quarantine is reclaimed by nature as roving herds of prehistoric animals roam and plants reclaim the city. The Firmament which prevents the spread of the Monolith is in place by Law.

Now it is the humans turn to fight back against the Monolith by taming prehistoric animals with Brainhack devices to control them and find the source of the mutant prehistoric animals.

So who would like a Lovecraftian Darkest Dungeon style RP set in a alternate 1923 with a focus on unique character building to this horrific situation?

I'm always up for Lovecraft and cosmic horror.

I'm thinking of starting a Survival Sandbox RP of some sort. Not sure if I should set it in a Medieval setting, a Paleolithic setting, a modern Zombie Apocalypse setting, or a post-apocalyptic setting similar to Fallout.

Depending on that I'd be in, medieval would be cool but a good 'ol Zombie Apocalypse won't hurt either :P

and x4 would definitely be interested in either.

@Paulie: You could probably go for a composite of some kind, with the apocalyptic event being some "Eden 2" project gone horribly wrong- Thus nature overtaking the planet, with some areas outright devoid or nearly so of the original human presence. The medieval aspects are thus what humanity has managed from scratch, with plenty of pre-"Eden" locales and items to find. The zombies, therefore, could be more an And I Must Scream fate whose bodies have been made 'naturally' undying- Their human form 'rotting' and warping the older and/or more exposed they are, with them becoming progressively more dangerous and deformed (i.e Super Mutants).

I've decided I will do a Medieval Survival Sandbox RP with some fantasy elements.

I'm considering a Crossover RP where, instead of an overarching plotline where the characters have to deal with being ripped from their homes, the characters are there willingly and the focus is on player-run subplots. To put it in other words, the premise is "here's a setting; pick a character and go nuts."

Does this sound appealing to anyone?

The Holy Grail War, a battle between seven mages in order to gain access to the final source of True Magic left in the world, a battle to obtain a selfish desire. The rules are understood, the ideas behind it are set in stone. But what if the Holy Grail wasn't the only artifact of its kind. What if the history of mages held a much deeper secret then the one that is known of?

Deep within the depths of a fallen city another powerful artifact has reawakened, having drawn enough power to put forth its own game with its own rules. Pandora's Box calls out to seven twisted people to fight a duel to the death in order to claim it along with any desire of their choosing. However summoning heroes of past ages is impossible for a vessel that contains the evils of the world, instead only those of Evil alignment can be summoned. The horrors and evils of bygone days, the monsters a true grail would never be able to summon. The twisted killers, the shadowy monsters, all of the evil of the world set to come to the world once more.

The game is simple, a hero has been summoned to stand opposed to all of the evil in the world, granted all the strength of champion against the darkness must have. The Mage who oversees the heroes demise will be granted access to any desire in their hearts. However they are in constant competition against each other and the hero itself, who will seek their destruction and downfall.

So then, all of the evil in the world in the palm of your hand? Just what terror will you summon?

In only two posts after my last one here, I've already got another idea.

It's yet another Magical Girl RP, since that seems to be my thing (or perhaps it's a Magical Girl/Henshin Hero thing this time around; haven't decided yet) that can best be described as a cross between the Fate/Whatever series, Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, and my previous RP Hope, Determination, and Friendship.

The basic premise is that it involves the player characters teaming up with an alternate version of a mythological/historical character to hop across alternate timelines to deal with...some sort of threat. Maybe aliens, maybe Heartless, maybe some kind of distortion. In any case, something that'd cause the timeline to collapse in on itself if not dealt with.

There'd be two ways for the characters to fight. The first would involve the "servant" character fighting for his/her "master," ala the Fate/Whatever series (or maybe just Pokemon, except more in a "Knight and Lady" sort of way). The second involves doing a Type B Fusion Dance with the "servant" in order to use his/her powers directly, in a form of the traditional Magical Girl Warrior transformation.

The idea's still in the planning stages, and in any event my current RP hasn't been around for that long and I'd like to make sure it actually goes somewhere, so chances are it'd be a while before I'd put a signup for this one up. I just thought I'd ask to see if it's worth developing further.

I'd be up for it, seems like a cool premise

As that guy who only just bought Darkest Dungeon, I can certainly say that I'd love to try a game like that, Silence. A medieval survival sandbox thing would also be pretty cool.

The basic idea for my game goes something like this: The richest man in space (yes, literally all of space) has been murdered. A price is put on the head of his murderer, the players are bounty hunters the catch is that bounty also applies to the rest of whatever organization(s) the murderer belongs to, and the higher up a bounty is in their organization, the more they are worth.

This is the sort of campaign where things will get more and more insane as the targets get bigger and bigger. I expect that at least one conspiracy will have it's collective shit blown up.

Hello, I'm El Sijo, some of you may have heard of me, I've been on TVT for over 5 years and have quite a bit of GM experience.

I really want to GM a D&D game. I was in fact, doing so recently in RPGCrossing. However certain problems- mainly the difference in time zones where players lived- eventually caused it to peter out. So I'm wondering if I could restart it here?

For now, this is what I'm considering:

• System: 5th Edition D&D.
• Setting: Terrene, an original world (pretty much the standard D&D setting). ALL D&D races and creatures exist there.
• Concept: Sandbox-style game. Story will depend on where the players decide to go (and their level.)
• Requirements: Any official Class and Race is allowed. However, PCs must start at Level 1 and be of Good alignment.
• Character creation:
  • Ability Scores: 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8 + racial modifiers
  • Ideals, Bonds and Flaws will not be used. Instead characters will gain Advantage for doing something that fits their Alignment (good things) and gain Disadvantage for doing bad things.
• Playstyle: No dice rolling. Instead, this would be played just like the rest of the PbP games on TVT. You provide a Character Sheet, and based on that + your choices and the situation I decide what happens.
  • priority will be determined by dexterity
  • Advantage entitles you to an automatic success (of your choice) and Disadvantage causes an automatic Failure (my choice).
• Posting Requirement: Once a Day. This is to accommodate players from varying time zones.
  • You have up to a week to post, then you'll be assumed to have left the game.

I want 4 players, but I'm flexible.

Anyone interested?

Don't worry Books, I'll be handling all the boring game data stuff the game itself will focus on *storytelling* like the rest of the TVT rpgs. So just create a character (I will help if you need) and submit it!
