Interest.
Excellent! Hopefully more people pop up with interest.

Mutants mostly. All the characters are being sent off into Deadzones which are Eldritch Location areas, so really it's a more cinematic tale. You might face some Eastern Alliance Mercs and androids investigating as well.
The main focus of this is definitely character interaction, your new boss wants to see how well a team of various mercs and androids can work together and if he can use that in the future.
But I do have a end goal planned for any players. There is something in the zone they need to get.

Hmmm... Interesting
I'm taking that this is an original setting instead of being set in an established universe. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Original setting yes.
Any reason you wished to know.
I was wondering if I needed to do any more research.
What are the mutants?
Interest. Probably in playing a Synth, though I would like to note what kind of standards there are for the synthetics. Are they like fully-aware A.I.s with their own personalities? Are their personalities designed from the ground up?

"It all depends on how we look at things, and not on how they are themselves." -C.G. JungThe standard mutant is pretty much spindly sets of legs on a irregular body with odd proportions. Mutants vary and no one is really sure if they are mutated creatures.
And the Synths are true A.I.s with their own personalities.

And Synths otherwise appear human, apart from their skin?
"It all depends on how we look at things, and not on how they are themselves." -C.G. JungYeah pretty much. They can have more obvious robotic appearances.
Where did the mutants come from?
The deadzones. They primarily stay there as it is their home.
2-3 questions: 1-What is so valuable in the deadzones? 2-What are the synths for? 3-If they're for deadzone exploration, then what are humans doing here?
- the setting is quite STALKER in origin. The deadzones contain artifacts that can be used for human study. Or scientists wishing to know how it works to see if it can be fixed.
- Synths are modern robotics meant for wide spread use. Primarily military, but the deadzones respond to concious thought so androids must be programmed to be fully sentient in order to just operate on their own. This is incredibly expensive as you are essentially building a person so use of tanks and walking tanks is still facilitated.
- Humanity had to return to frontline warfare after the Jump Incident, a teleportation experiment from the early days of the cold war between the Western Union and the Eastern Alliance up and caused the deadzones to appear. Hence the use of Motungs and such.
So it's some unholy mash up between the mutating Tiberium of Command and Conquer along with the widespread use of synths in Metal gear Revengeance.
Right...I guess that means we have world building to do XD
Eh, might drop a sign up sheet on this thread soon.
Also, a tint of Evangelion, considering the wide usage of mechs...or is it inspired by titan fall?

Synths are not widespread since again expensive.
And it is more Armored Trooper Votoms.
Cool, I think I got my character idea then.
"It all depends on how we look at things, and not on how they are themselves." -C.G. JungWhat is the in-universe reason for synths not getting Mortugs?
Generally considered redundant, a Synth is already better armored than a human considering they are military androids, and a bit faster than a motung again thanks to advanced servos and muscle systems.
Pilot model synths can pilot Motungs just fine but that is just because they have full piloting knowledge of every vehicle available. But it is rarely seen because a human motung pilot is cheaper than programming up a few synths and sticking them in a larger robotic frame.
2065 - January 25th. -> Location: Silence Industries Island. Outside of8 England
A young woman steped forward into the garage, she wore a black blazer with the industry logo and a black pencil skirt, she was reading a clipboard for a moment until the door closed behind her. She looked forward. The woman herself seemed to have some green makeup on around her eyes.
"So you are all here to join the Silence Industries Mercenary Program?" She asked, she seemed rather businesslike. "As you all know I am Miss Mari, second in charge to only-"
The door burst open, Mari seemed to smile "The man in charge, Silence Echoes himself."
Out stepped a man in a large black trenchcoat with the collar turned up, a peaked cap rested atop his head with a coated fabric obscuring the sides of his head. On his face there was a white mask, no identifying features other than two eyes with tinted lenses, the eyes themselves changing and twisting in expression as he looked about.
"Ah wonderful!" He said jumping into a cheerful mood, "So wonderful to see so many new signups! Some of you for the Auxiliary Pilot Union, others... for other reasons. Regardless glad you decided to join because I am trying a new experiment, usually I send one of my Auxiliary pilots into the zone and they do well. Sometimes they bring back studies, or info, or they just come back alive letting the brass of the Western Union know that-"
Miss Mari decided to interrupt, "Sir. The point please. You are rambling," The boss looked back at her, and nodded, "Thank you Mari. Got ahead of myself."
Silence turned back to you, "Welcome to the Hush Brigade. Now I am certain many of you signed up because of the Motung workshop program, building and customizing your own motung. Well keep in mind that our Spider type production is down and will be for some time. You will be utilizing standard Humanoid frames," the eyes of his mask contorted, as if he had a wicked smile on, "Welcome to Silence. Industries everyone, please fill out the forms handed to you and we can begin to build your new Mobil Rustungs. Oh and of course you get to pick out which colour of your pilot suit you'll be wearing in the cockpit is. A lot of previous hires were very particular about that..."
Mari started to walk about handing everyone a forum, before reciting "Silence. Ind is not in anyway responsible for any injury sustained on battle or in the Deadzones and can not be sued for libel or injury. In case of death the next year of paychecks will go to next of kin if added to medical notes, or in case of no kin a fine funeral will be covered. In addition you get access to onsite apartments which you are free to customize for your stay in anyway possible, and the Motung workshop is open to you whenever available."
"And don't forget you will be getting new specialized Synths with you as well when you go exploring! One big happy team!" Silence cheered, Mari looked back at her boss, "Possibly."
First Off. Are you a Human Pilot. Or a Android Synth. Human pilots get to use Motungs and customize them anyway possible. Androids do not require Motungs thanks to super strength but are generally not as well armored. So in short, Motungs are closer to Armored but slower tanks. While Synths are scout robots.
=Pilot=
=Motung=
And finally
=Synth=
Notable Events in the Western Union
And there we go, wanted to do a RP for this setting of mine for awhile. So I hope interest peaks and after a little bit I'll have a Discussion thread up to answer big questions, such as the setting itself.
And here is a old discussion page of the world building for some ideas for the setting.
