Allegedly the seiyuu chosen are fairly well-known ones, too. So that'd be interesting.
I wonder if they'd get some of the voice actors from the first Xenoblade for the English options, alongside more traditional "let's crib from the pool of anime VA talent" approach most game companies (Nintendo included) opt for?
Moon◊The main colony is an American one so, as long as a decent number of characters have an American accent, they can justify literally every other accent.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book! They should get Mark Meer in there. "What can you tell me about the Nopon?"
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."- You can add scars or beauty spots to faces in the character creator
- In New Los Angles, there are four main areas: blade area, industrial area, commercial area and residential area
- The main character joins BLADE and takes part in the group’s various activities
- In order to search for human pods scattered around Mira, you have to expand the information system called Frontier Network
- If you establish a Data Probe, the data of the surrounding area will be added to the system
- Data Probes can be established in spots called Frontier Network Spot
- A pillar of light helps locating a Frontier Network Spot
- Frontier Network info can be seen on the Game Pad
- Map info includes player location, quest target area
- Can warp to already visited places
- Although the Game Pad normally works as a terminal, the game can also be played on the Game Pad screen
- The activities of BLADE are separated into 8 different divisions called Unions
- Available tasks differ depending on the Union you join
- The player can freely choose which Union to join
- The player can also enter a different Union after the initial decision
- Path Finder: Union for pioneers. Responsible for establishing Data Probes. Expands the Frontier Network.
- Interceptor: Responsible for suppressing native life forms. Guards research teams and rescues citizens.
- Avalanche: Interceptor protects while Avalance attacks. Suppresses dangerous creatures.
- Testament: Search and collects the wreckage of the White Whale. Also looks for things left behind in battlefields.
- Colepedian: Goes to various places of Mira to do research and collect materials.
- Land Bank: Searches Mira for stocking up resources in order to maintain the daily life. An important task is to gather minerals.
- Arms: Helps the “Arms company” to develop weapons like dolls.
- Companion: Helps the civilians of New Los Angles. Does almost anything as task vary from arbitrating quarrels to finding lost cats.

Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureDid they really have to make the game bigger? Was there anyone out there who said "You know, Xenoblade was okay, but the world just wasn't big enough."
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television. They figured that since Dolls are about 5x larger than the player the world has to be five times bigger than Xenoblade Chronicles world.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureYou know what they say : bigger is better.
Except when it's not. There's often something nice about smaller stages that you get to know more intimately. Jim Sterling actually went into this on this week's Jimquisition, here.
But, y'know, whatever. There's good sides to open world games too, and Xenoblade X was always intended to be the latter, so here we are. We'll see if it pays off when it comes out, surely.
Moon◊I can tell already that the Testament faction are going to be my homeboys. Scavengers for life unite!!
i. hear. a. sound.Speaking of which, Colepedian sounds awfully egotistic.
I think the Land Bank sounds quite nice.
How so? To me it sounds like they help the colony understand the new world?

"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobI'd like to point out that the name of the ship is very likely "Moby Dick". While 白鯨 literally means "White Whale", that's the name used for, well, the Great White Whale.
Also, I'll likely join the Pathfinders. Exploring everywhere sounds like a good idea.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Clearly I will model my custom player character after Cloud and then join Avalanche.
(Or I could just stick with Space Rihanna◊, I dunno)
Moon◊Then why isn't it colopedian? To me, it sounds like someone named Cole is in charge of that union and decided to name everything after him.
Or maybe I'm just crazy.

I think it is possible to join all of the Unions.
I don't know which one I like the most based on the descriptions.
I like researching so I might start with Colepedian.
Maybe it is a mistranslation and it is supposed to be Collectopedian or Collectpedian.
Because it seems like it is similar to the Collectopedia from Xenoblade Chronicles.

Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureI think I'd go with Pathfinder. I love exploring in games.
I think I'll start with either Avalanche or Arms. The former because I like to be aggressive and take the fight to the enemy, and the latter because it sounds like it could gain you some sweet weapons and Doll upgrades.
Path Finder sounds nice. I loved the exploration in the original Xenoblade, so I'm looking forward to this one. Testament and Colepedian also sound like my cup of tea, though I might also consider the attack Unions.

"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."At the moment I'm partial to Interceptor, but I'll probably change my mind when I get it. I'll see how I feel.
I expect the main story to be around 60 hours in length, maybe 40 if you rush it. But it would be amusing if it was just stupidly long, if only for 100 hour speed runs. New World Record at 97:38:21!
You mean like Persona 4 where the game will take you around 120 hours even when doing very little and reading quickly?
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book! After being waylaid by a cold, I've finally finished translating the story section. Like I said before, basically nothing new is learned but, for those who'd like to read it, here it is:
July, A.D. 2054.
The Earth was caught in a battle between mysterious alien civilizations.
Earth's state-of-the-art technology was far exceeded by the weapons used in their battle.
The reason for their fight was not understood as the Earth was trampled down and scorched.
Before the battle could spread to the Earth, the Unification Government enacted the "Earth Species Pan-Emigration Plan".
The world's major cities were turned into Interstellar Emigration Ships and took off.
They escaped the home that had nurtured life for 45 billion years.
However, many emigration ships were shot down while in Earth's gravity; very few ships were able to safely escape.
"Moby Dick" was the name of one of the ships that managed to escape.
They've been wandering the stars for two years since the destruction of Earth.
The Moby Dick was fortunate enough to survive the battle around Earth but
it was finally found by the alien civilization's pursuit force.
The pursuit force was repelled by the army's do-or-die spirit and the activities of one great hero but
the Moby Dick's main engines were seriously damaged in the violent battle.
It's cruise ability lost, the Moby Dick was caught in the gravity of a strange planet and it's hull began to break appart while it fell.
And two months have passed....
I'll do my own translation of the two new character bios shortly.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Just out of curiosity, how do you represent a customizable character when s/he appears outside of the game they star in? It should be obvious why I ask this.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page. With their default appearance. Just look at Robin in Smash Bros.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I'm really curious as to:
1) Why the alien civilizations were fighting over the Earth. Was that just the battlefield they ended up choosing, or were they literally fighting over something on the earth.
2) Why one of them felt the need to chase after Humanity afterwards.
There's something going down here. I imagine that Humans Are the Real Monsters plays some role in it, and somehow, these two groups having a rumble right on top of Humanity's heads is somehow our fault.
One Strip! One Strip!
Or a Inquisitor situation.
