If I remember correctly, she's the reason SFXT happened.
Yeah, they say that in extra materials apparently.
One Strip! One Strip!I like Ingrid. I still thought it was weird that she was in that port of Alpha though. If she's in V, I'll be happy, especially if it means we get a remix of her theme.
From what I recall, most peoples' distaste of her came from finding her tonally different than the other SF characters when she was ported over; she made more sense when she was in her debut game, which was a crossover. I also think there was something about her backstory that rubbed people the wrong way (I'm probably misremembering, but I think she's supposed to be some sort of Physical Goddess and was played up as the good counterpart to Bison for some reason in Alpha).
That said, I don't think I've seen her get outright hate. Most of the reaction seemed to be confusion, since she appeared to be more appropriate for Capcom's more fantastical fighters like Darkstalkers.

Given that this is a series with fem!Bison as a fortuneteller, an electrical Hulk, and a fire-breathing rubber-man, I don't really understand that argument.
De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.
This is true.
As for her being a good counterpart to Bison, that's why we have Rose, so I don't think we need Ingrid in the regular series.
If she'd come first, maybe then, but as it is, there's no need for her, even if there's nothing really wrong with her.
One Strip! One Strip! It didn't make sense to me back then too.
Well, here's what the wikia says about her. I guess I wasn't too far off (basically, both her and Rose are Bison's good counterparts in a way).
Ingrid also possesses psychic abilities similar to Rose's, as she addressed Ryu and Rose by name, even though both never revealed their names to her. Rose, on the other hand, cannot look into Ingrid's future as she did with other Street Fighters.
Finally, Ingrid has the power to travel through time, as she mentions heading to the year 201X in order to contact Ryu in her ending.
Cammy is Bison's opposite Sex clone
Chun Li an interpol agent wears the most cliche' Chinese get up despite the fact her Alpha look was more functional.
Akuma is powered by the sheer want to kill but clearly isn't a bad guy doods
Gill
Bison wanted C Viper for her body to handle his essence.
Sakura learned Ryu's fighting style by watching him on TV
Rufus
Blanka learned how to shock people by playing with Eels
We literally now have a super Saiyan.
Clearly Ingrid is too ridiculous
Now if you're argument is say like Max's that you don't mind Ingrid but her being in the opening 16 roster might mean someone else might get cut... okay I can understand that
IE Ingrid over say Urien or Q -I don't get why people want Urien so bad... He is less impressive Gill!-
Granted I'd argue that is you wanting your obscure character in over someone elses.
Most people who have an opinion on one or the other between Gill and Urien are going to be directly familiar with SFIII, and will pick Urien over Gill for two good reasons and a third, more subjective one:
- Firstly, Gill has to this point been nothing but an unplayable (at least in any tournament setting) boss character. Urien is the only one of the two anyone could form a meaningful connection with in terms of playing or seeing being played.
- Secondly, Aegis Reflector is the shit. That Super made Urien one of the most uniquely playing characters in Street Fighter's extensive roster, and it is just generally really fun and versatile. And it would be a perfect attack-type V-Trigger, to boot.
- Thirdly, Crush, Kill, Destroy is way more cool than The mark of my dignity shall scar thy DNA.

there are only 4 return slots left since there are suppose to be 4 New Characters and only 1 new one has been revealed.
granted they might up the starting Roster to something bigger
@Frozen Wolf: There's a pretty big difference in magnitude between that stuff and the time-traveling, power-stealing, pwning-erryone-without-breaking-a-sweat stuff Ingrid did back in A3MAX.

Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle.I don't dislike Ingrid because I find her outlandish, I dislike her because Capcom's previous attempt to integrate her into the canon was shitty. A new character shows up claiming to be some sort of goddess and is the apparent origin and wielder of the main villian's power. She can also see the future with clarity.
She just came off to me as a gigantic mary sue. If Capcom can handle her insertion into the series better this time, then I will have no complaints.
AND BAH GAWD SHE USED THE STUNNER VEGA IS BROKEN IN HALF
RKO OUTTA NOWHERE BY HER NEW TAG TEAM PARTNER
I can't wait to play this character.
Holy crap.
They finally did it, and with fucking style at that.....
Ok. I know Street Fights don't exactly have rules, but how can it be legal to have someone come in and help you during a fight like that?
I mean, at the least, these are supposed to be one on one battles.
Now, for that Mika vs Jaycee match in Tekken X Street Fighter. The dream will live soon enough.
One Strip! One Strip!hehe, slowly but surely all our fighting games will like doa
Streetfights don't got rules!
Alex vs Mika! Stat
I don't know. I think the Amazonian Beauty nature of the Street Fighter woman will make them different enough from the DOA girls.
Funny thing, now that Mika is in, I don't really mind if Ingrid makes it. Be nice if we got Karin as well, but she's got that Rights issue thing making that unlikely.
One Strip! One Strip!RAINBOW!
Oh my God, I have been waiting years. I think there might be something in my eye....
Seems like Siliconera was right about that one after all.

That's a hip thrust.
Or as Ren And Stimpy once called it, the Flying Butt Pliers.
Or the Ren And Stimpy name may have come first. I'm not really sure.
One Strip! One Strip!Videos like that is why I sigh whenever I think about WWE Divas outside of NXT.
AJ sells it like she just died in the ring.
Also R. Mika's taunt is her cutting a (short) promo with the mic. It's pretty neat.
Zero/Alpha 3 specifically.
