I'm pretty sure the band took their name from the Simpsons character, so it's less a reference to them and more just referencing the same thing.
Reaction Image RepositoryI know nothing of music so I'll defer to you on that one.
I'm not particularly sure either; Fallout Boy (The band) isn't really in my wheelhouse as far as music goes.
Reaction Image RepositoryYep, the Fallout Boy band took their name from the Simpsons character as suggested by one of their fans from before they became a big thing.

YES! Finally found volume 6!
The chapter is out.
I'm amused that Mirio's quirk is basically a bug lol. How fitting.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. The "bug" is just a tiny portion of his power and the sheer insane skill he puts it through.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand, caught up.
Joining this thread now. Anyone mind it?

"Please crush me with your heels Esdeath-sama!
Feel free man. Feel free.
Not bad Mirio. Not bad. Does anyone get the feeling he went after Deku because the latter was the first to formulate a strategy against him? Seems he knows all the tricks for not only using his quirk, but dealing with counters to it as well.
One Strip! One Strip! It does make sense for a quirk, since its a natural bodily function, to have a mechanism to prevent you from telefragging yourself
Forever liveblogging the AvengersSo if Mirio can't see during his intangibility because light don't hit his retina...how does Hagakure see? Maybe she's actually blind or has some other mutation that allows her to replicate sight.
Also I'm amused and pleased that Mirio is basically naked the entire fight.
The light isn't passing through her, it's refracting around her or something.
But his weakness is a bit of Reality Ensues, which isn't that uncommon in this series. I like it.
I'll guess that All Might's former sidekick is the No. 3 Hero (or, I guess, No. 2 now).
No, no. He just managed to keep the jewels under wraps.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersAgain, I love how Horikoshi delves into all the Required Secondary Powers and Reality Ensues involved with superpowers. And I can't wait to see more of Sakamo— I mean Sir.
Yea, his powers seem pretty simple and a case of Blessed with Suck, but clever application and training rectified that. I like it when series do that.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I would describe it more like Heart Is an Awesome Power or Difficult, but Awesome. If you know what you're doing, it's a really hax power.
I already hate the term hax, but I don't think it's been used right here. It leaves him unable to breath, see, or feel anything in full use, and selective use is an arduous problem.
The entire point of this is that his power sucks, he's just managed to make it work because of how good he is and how hard he's trained. It's not awesome despite the difficulties, he's awesome in spite of them.

It's the sort of power that is pretty much useless just on it's own. Quirks like Bakugou's and Todoroki's are obviously strong right off the bat, but Mirio's quirk is only good because of how much he trained with it, allowing him to fine tune his control and minimize the drawbacks. You give someone else Permeation and they'll be pretty much worthless.
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/lb_i.php?lb_id=13239183440B34964700 Alfric's Fire Emblem Liveblog Encyclopedia!Pretty sure most people call it hax because it's literally something you'd see haxxers do in FPS games, or speedrunners do in Dark Souls. Clipping through the walls and floor, looking like the Vault Boy, he's Bethesda personified.
I wouldn't say that his power sucks. It's an ok and useful quirk, if he was averagely skilled, he would be an average hero. It's just that his skill exponentially increases the usefulness - so Difficult, but Awesome tropes-wise.
Also his "floor-glitching" is a bit extra funny for me as I was abusing the hell out of "clip into a wall and get launched up to the surface" in Astroneer the last couple days.

It only becomes useful because of his skill though. It doesn't sound like the kind of thing where being "average" with it means you can actually be a hero at all.
Like, compare it to One For All, another power where just being "decent" probably means you aren't going to make it very far in the hero business.

You still can phase through walls and avoid attacks with it. Its not a direct combat power quirk, but it is useful.
And damn, if he had gotten One For All on top... Couple the sheer destructive power, plus even more speed and toughness on top of his already top-notch defences and accuracy - he'd be unstoppable monster.

The way he described it I wouldn't expect being just okay with this to be very useful in actually hero work and high intensity situations. It just has too many natural, almost crippling drawbacks.
Which really does help with the One For All comparison, and also as another reason for why he'd be considered a prime candidate for All Might's successor.
Edit: Really, that sounds weird anyway. What hero is just "average" with their power? If that's the best they could do, they probably couldn't make it into the pros anyway.

I find it funny that he apparently found the skill required in a single year,if I read Deku's flashback right.
