Here's a question: What's the legal drinking age? Plum's sign-up assumes 18 is the legal age, as he is British, whereas I assumed 21 in mine due to being American. So which do we want to go with?

It's 18 here.

Unless it's essential for someone that it'd be 21, I say we go with 18.

My suggesstion is that it shouldn't be any more than 12. You should take the ones already accepted and have them vote on the most interesting of the remaining applicants. Say we have 8 people accepted? Then have them pick their top four until we have whittled it down. Then tell everyone else to kick rocks.

I say we also change the vans to R Vs. It's more spacious and holds more equipment.

Also, we need some places to go (and start from) with this. I vote we go to a snowman village, the ancient city of sun in the middle of the desert (that Kenneth is adamant isn't the right ancient city of the sun in the middle of the desert, despite all evidence to the contrary), a clockwork city, the world's spookiest haunted pumpkin patch (populated by very nice ghosts, ghouls, and other halloweeny residents), and get lost in the middle of nowhere, as road-trippers are wont to do.

Where does my signup say anything about drinking age?

Oh, I'm sorry. It was Starbound's signup that implied a drinking age of 18, my bad.

I assumed the lower number since a lot of our characters are between 18-21 years of age.

It would also be good to establish the relationships of some characters prior to the trip. Right now, the established links are:

When it comes to Alice, she's quite friendly and straightforward, so she's bound to have at least one friend... But not ALL the friends, because her eccentricities and difficulty to convey her emotions make it difficult for her to make lots of them.

I'd say she'd work well as Kenneth's friend, since both seem to have some things in common, like difficulty when it comes to expressing emotions, a desire to find a place that's special for them, they're nigh-impossible to kill, and share the same kind of taste (or should it be distaste?) when it comes to footwear. Also, since Alice is a robot anyway, she doesn't have an interest nor use for phoenix-tears, so Kenneth wouldn't need to use his "hardass" facade all the time when around her.

But, that's just a suggestion... And, as a matter of fact, if anyone else would want for Alice to start as a friend of your own character, that would be nice too.

Well I guess being a transfer student it would be logical for Yuna to be hosted by a family so I guess that's an open invitation to a relationship with... someone.

Star and I have already agreed to Helena and Jake being classmates.

I want Yuna to be Helena's underage drinking buddy who helps keep her brother away.

I'm totally down for Kenneth and Alice being buds. Also, Kenneth and Yuna being arch-rivals forever, because of their dichotomy. Or more best buds because hilarious fire/ice friendship.

I was actually kind of thinking about the friend thing.

Anybody wanna be connected to Ta-chan? Was thinkin' maybe distant cousin or somesuch to Yuna seeing as their both Eastern in origin.

I'll admit that I'm not the best at characterization or figuring out relationships, but here goes:

Marvin is going on the trip for a college dare - logically it would make sense that he was dared by someone going on this trip. This probably means either Kenneth or Ta-chan, looking at ages and personalities, sorta. Marvin, being the slacker that he is, would be willing to hang out with pretty much anyone, so he probably knows at least one or two people on the trip, maybe?

Well Krika, we really don't have to worry about this right away. Considering this RP puts character development waaaaaaay over anything else, we'll have plenty of chances to establish relationships.

So is the RP going to start on the road or at the beginning?

That works for me.

Me & Sarc have figured that Larry and Kenneth probably know each other from the occasional times the latter has been dead.

We got quite a few options to start from, really.

1. Like you said, we can start on the road. Helps establish the mood of the game, though we'd need to decide who goes in what car.
2. We could start in our "home town" where we're all planning the trip together. Could start off in front of so and so's house, or gathered together at a diner or something.
3. We could be at a location already, taking pics and having the local foods and what have you. This one I'm most eh of.
4. We could start out in the middle of the desert/forest/jungle/ancient ruins, hopelessly lost and trying to figure out which direction to go.
