Episode 4. In which there's drinking.

Probably not a good place to practice lines.

I think it might be an idea if he's more concerned about himself.

Does that air conditioner only have one setting?

Speaking quickly is rather common if you're nervous. Probably one of the most common errors for presentations.

"That's not what I'm eating!" *Ding!* "...All the time."

Kinda funny that the most uncertain of them voices the bearded man.

They're all so work damaged it's funny.

Nice Hats.

"The fact that we think alcohol tastes great must mean we're finally adults!" A sign that you're an adult: Drinking light beer. Or whisky, since if you want to get drunk, there are other liquors that are easier to swallow. Of course, if you like it, which I totally understand, then it's no problem. But most people don't.

"No one would realise it's me." Both a blessing and a curse for a voice actor.

If you want to ask something, and the person you're trying to ask is impatient, getting sidetracked is a really bad idea.

Light drinker.

It suddenly got quiet, and not in a good way.

Also, Tarou. Such a waste of flesh if ever I'd seen one. How he manages to stay employed by the studio is a wonder, as he's so far done nothing right on-screen. And he's annoying too.

I sometimes wonder how some of these guys stay employed. ...then again, that's how it is in real life.

Of course reality requires it, but the size of the named cast is now 41.

Episode 4:

  • Taro's being his Taro self.
  • Shizuka has a good voice. So no problem! She surely hook another role. Unless reality is being especially cruel to her...
  • Unless she did get the role and she hasn't been told yet. It's only been a day after the interview, and one of the directors seemed to be impressed by her. Wait and see, wait and see...
  • Oh, they have some good hat sense.
  • Sadoza Magica, Mon Mon Biyori, and... PriPara. I'm right about the last reference, right?
  • Guess I'm not adult enough if I only drink alcohol as a means to keep asthma at bay.tongue
  • Incoming stress... And it's your own darn fault, Taro! Important things should not be beaten around the bush! ...Well, it depends on the job, but the one you're in, small talk isn't needed.

Alcohol helps against asthma? Never noticed that. Then again, my asthma hasn't been that severe since I started exercising properly way back in early school.

Choosing not to drink alcohol isn't an adult disqualifier, though, as opposed to not being allowed to drink.

[up][up]I...never knew that, really. I just use a small amount in combination with honey, garlic, and a special tonic that has a leaf with anti-asthma properties.

Keeps my chest from tightening, at least.tongue

Wine especially Red is the worst since they contain Sulfites and fermented drinks in general contain chemicals that are very histamine-like which can trigger an alergic reaction that starts an attack if your body thinks they are, those chemicals are why you sometimes get a stuffy nose when drunk.

Episode 5. In which there's an explosion.

Not letting even one percent get to her. Good job!

Super Special Secret Key.

A little harsh, but it'll do. I've seen the same technique used at an job I had where we had small meeting rooms. Sometimes someone with a lot of work would lock themselves in there so they wouldn't get disturbed by others and get work done faster.

I think she should tell him that if he doesn't say anything, she will do it for him, in a way that's not entirely positive for him.

He's not a particularly good mediator.

To be fair, that is a good outfit.

Well, at least the chicken turned out all right.

I wouldn't like that show, even if it was well-done. I don't think it would've been too pervy, though. Can't be worse than some of the shows we've seen.

Now that's the perfect encouragement.

Older and wiser. In all the ways.

God I hate Tarou. Tarou, if you had cut the crap and GOT TO THE POINT, maybe Aoi would've stayed on the phone!! God, you…

Wow I don't think I seen an animation that took on the 2D/3D debate head on!

Aoi is much better, but maybe she should cut down on the alcohol a bit, hmm??

Sweeties, there's still exponentially more hand-drawn anime than there is hand-drawn Western cartoons! I know it is frustrating to suddenly learn a new skill all over again though.

These eps are too short.

How is Tarou not fired yet? He is literally making everything worse every time he opens his mouth.

Somehow I actually can't bring myself to actually dislike Taro. Maybe I just see him as a kid in need of some guidance or something, but at this point I feel like I should hate him and just don't quite yet. He's just annoying like little brothers are annoying.

Either way both the animators were pretty jerk-ish throughout this, too.

Guys like Taro do need help.

Just the shit those kind of guys do makes everyone not want to; it's just not worth the effort.

Dude is asking for a shit-canning. Shit attitude, shit work ethic.

Seriously, he's an asshole who doesn't realize he's being an asshole; which has resulted in usually petty results but it's going to bite him harder than it has in this episode.

And Endou also is at fault for throwing a tantrum. An understandable tantrum, yet screwing over others.

To be fair, Aoi and everyone else has their own flaws and did varying degrees of mistakes. No one in this show is truly innocent.

By the title of the episode, I was expecting Tarou to really get fired by the end!

Is it wrong I ship Aoi with Tarou? They're funny together tongue

But yeah Tarou should just be fired

That 2D vs 3D debate though. Those were some deep words from Kitano Saburou

[up][up][up][up] Yeah, he really shouldn't have blown up like that. Still, it's Tarou's fault. He completely twisted the 3D guy's words into "you're too slow, we're not gonna wait and that's that." I can't remember the 3D guy's actual words, but it was nothing like that. The guy sounded reasonable, but Tarou made him out to be an asshole.

I felt much like Kitano at times.

Tarou clearly had trouble finding the words, but what he said IS NOT COOL to either side of the debate!

Taro is just the worst messenger. Even email's famous inability to convey tone is better than this guy. I would've expected the two animators to take it up with the director to get an actual decision, but I guess their workloads and work culture don't really allow for that.

Here's hoping the series doesn't slide into the Mellow Maromi episode of Paranoia Agent. Yes, I'm probably making too much out of Aoi occasionally talking to those two dolls.

I'm sure that the cell they locked the director in has a story or three. I hope some of it comes out at the wrap party or somewhere.
