I think your definition of a macro is rather loose. The current is not a macro in any way. This◊ is a macro. Or this?◊ Though, I admit that the editing is rather crappy, as the text box should be transparent. Suggestion could work if you arrange it right, but it all depends on how it looks at wiki size.
Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed.Yeah, it's a parody image, not an image macro. And it's funnier and more concise than the suggestion without being less clear.
Check out my fanfiction!Doesn't look like a macro to me.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI think the OP assumed it counted as a macro because it was an alteration made to the screenshot via a "caption" at the bottom, which fits the general definition in a loose sense.
I personally would like a bit clearer version, that text is horrid.
*snerk* I like that.
That artifacting is really bugging me.
Check out my fanfiction!May I suggest some panels from this comic?
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight! That was the comic I suggested in the OP.
I'm not seeing how the current isn't an image macro.

"In Internet culture, an Image macro is an image superimposed with text for humorous effect."
Because the current image is not "superimposed with text." The text is part of the dialog box. And you should reffer to our deninition of Image Macro.
Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed. One of the most common pastimes available on the Internet. Take a fairly representative image of some kind, slap a redundant caption on it in a bold stark font, and upload it somewhere to share with people. It's as simple as that!
That bold part seems to represent the image fairly well.
But it doesn't fit the "bold stark font" bit. And it's not redundant. And it's not "a fairly representative image" as much as the text is just paraphrased slightly from the original.

Check out my fanfiction!Any image with text on it isn't a macro; it's only when the text is superimposed over the image in a certain way. In this one, it isn't. The text is part of a text box that is itself part of the image. Granted, the editing is kinda sloppy, but still.
Reaction Image RepositoryRedid the current with the appropriate font. (Well, kinda; I used the first meeting with the owl, but that seems to be facing the other direction. Will anyone care? Probably not. I don't.)
Moon◊
I personally like my suggestion in post 6 over that.
Put me down for 16.
"Polite life will fill you full of cancer." - Iggy Pop "I've seen the future, brother, it is murder." -Leonard Cohen16... god that guy was annoying
That is good.
Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed.Dat accurate font... 16 gets my
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."It's up and tagged. I recycled the caption; any disagreement there?

Looks like an image macro, as Kaepora Gaebora never says that. His problem is that Shall I Repeat That? defaults to "Yes", preventing button mashing.
Maybe take some panels from this: http://brawlinthefamily.keenspot.com/2011/05/12/333-advice/
6,7,8 or 6,7,9 perhaps?
