Plus, we get tension between Kara and Lena because, hey, did you know about my clone cousin who's half-Luthor?
My various fanfics.I would bet cash money that sometime in the 4 month hiatus someone will write the Superboy equivalent fic using Kara and Lena instead of Lex and Clark and that Daxamite device Rhea wanted to use on Lena and Mon El.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobOne of the people I follow on Tumblr actually did suggest that something like that might happen in canon, amusingly enough, after the Daxamite device was introduced in last week's episode. I can see it happening. It would be interesting if they had Kon-El be made from half of Lena's DNA instead of Lex's.

Trust you? The only person I can trust is myself. It's hard to tell; that could have been just minor worldbuilding. That being said, I would be 100% on board with a Kara/Lena clone.
Calling Batman a "frenemy" shows the show is years and years behind the comics.
Adding Reign smacks of the head writer doing a Google search for Supergirl villains because they were told that Rhea isn't testing well.
Here's the problem: they should have never cast a big name actor or actress for a major character like Callista Flockhart, knowing she has power over the show. Cast a no name who won't care where you shoot. No one said, "OMG! Ally McBeal is on the show! MUST WATCH!"
I hope that Zod comes back for real. He was a decent slice of ham.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.I hope so, too.
Trust you? The only person I can trust is myself.Ah drat.
Well, at least this opens up the possibility of Alex dating Kate Kane.

That's going to make their marriage weird.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult. So whoever does the fight choreography for this show needs to be fired yesterday and replaced by whoever does it for Jessica Jones. Even though Kara's a thousand times stronger than Jess, everything's presented with so much more weight and impact that I feel like Jess could beat Kara's ass.
My various fanfics.Adding to that. Mon-El apparently learned most, if not all, of his fight skills from Kara and owned multiple Daxam red-shirts with ease and style. Kara taught him all of that and resorted to ONLY the most telegraphed punches ever in superhero TV. Not even a jab or duck

Well, they could simply write that Maggie is moving to Metropolis.
The show is going to be cancelled soon. There's just too much turnover, and it feels like rats leaving a sinking ship.
What? The show's not getting canned just like that.
You'd be surprised.
Either way I'll need more than your word on the matter.
My "word"? I'm not a network executive. I just know this from 40+ years of watching TV.
That's what I thought.
The condemned live longer.

Short of Melissa Benoist quitting, I don't really see them pulling the plug any time soon.
Would a re-cast of Maggie be a bad idea?
Wow, yeah, that's "too much turnover."
"Turnover" is vague, but ratings don't necessarily save a show.
What's the critical reception to Supergirl? Because that doesn't necessarily save or doom it either. I've heard a lot of complaint over the change in storytelling this season and the loss of certain characters - mostly from Youtube and various episode review comment sections, so, grain of salt.
Really if they're 4 shows in and Berlanti wants to add Black Lightning, Supergirl's only doomed if they run out of villains - or if they do a really crappy "Evil Supergirl from the future" story arc, or an arc where Maggie is killed by Maxwell and Kara tries to kill him at first but then it turns out Maxwell was actually keeping her Kryptonian parents hostage so that he could manipulate Kara into murdering General Zod.
They're in a damned if you do and damned if you don't situation with Maggie.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!You are right, however, on ratings not being necessary to save a show, especially with the CW, which has shown that they will renew a show even with crappy ratings if it gets good critical acclaim (see: Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, which is the lowest rated show). If the ratings aren't there and the show doesn't get good critical acclaim, it might go the way of Frequency or No Tomorrow.
Both of those shows, however, consistently got less than a million viewers per episode and Supergirl has consistently gotten two to three million viewers per episode. And while the reviews haven't been amazing for this season, it has gotten quite a bit of acclaim, even with the, well, "CW-ification" of the show. And we have the built in audiences of the DC-CW-verse — so if Arrow, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow are renewed, chances are, so is Supergirl.
Needless to say, however, saying that Supergirl is going to be "cancelled soon" despite the fact that it just received a third season is some bizarre troll logic. This isn't even an instance of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., where the network renewed it only to move it to the Friday Death Slot in midseason (but weirdly gave it 22 episodes, too — what's up, ABC?).

Kon-El would be fantastic, and totally plausible, what with CADMUS fucking around and doing shit. Also, those casting choices are on point.
