That third one is the best of those.
A few of those work, but I'm having trouble finding better quality ones, including other examples I can think of. Most are just with the tunnelling creature already above, mostly hiding the sign.
Check out my fanfiction!Bugs Bunny is famous for producing this. Can anyone produce a screencap?
The images in 1 are really foggy. It's hard to tell the wormsign as as such rather than topographical features.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI concur.
Bugs [1]◊ [2]◊ Pull the current. Other suggestions are not good.

Either of the Bug Bunny ones would be excellent.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I'm going to support the first Bugs Bunny picture, on account of the fact that the second one is already on Wrong Turn at Albuquerque.
Bigotry will NEVER be welcome on TV Tropes.Works well. Would need a caption pointing out that it's the trail, not Bugs, that's the trope.
Check out my fanfiction!First Bugs is by far the best.
7.1 is great.
"Polite life will fill you full of cancer." - Iggy Pop "I've seen the future, brother, it is murder." -Leonard CohenI'm good with 7.1.
^If that is the first Bugs Bunny pic, I'll give it a . The focus is so much on the map and so little on the dig that it looks like Wrong Turn at Albuquerque instead.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanYeah, I was hoping somebody with the DV Ds might be able to do a screencap of the scene 'before' Bugs's head pops out. I couldn't find anything like that on Google.
The Bugs suggestion is still better than the others so far, though, IMODO.
While I get the argument, to me the dig is still obvious enough that any other issues aren't enough to cause a serious problem. 7.1 gets my pending someone finding something else that doesn't have an issue with it.
Better, although a better focus on the dig would be good.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI disagree. The character who created the trail is usually going to be in the middle of the image, and there are very few elements in (say) 20.1.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Well, no, Worm Sign usually involves the sign being the first or only indication of the digger's presence.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanWhich part of that contested something I said? :P

Unless you were referring to the Bugs Bunny pics in general. Also, I should say that @21 is being meant as "good enough" now.

Crown Description:
Nominations for replacement images:
The image is just a visual gag that doesn't help illustrate the trope at all. It apparently was deemed poor enough to be turned down on the spot when suggested for the image-less page in Image Pickin' some time ago, but it got added to the page anyway by someone else a few days ago.
Personally, as someone who's not familiar with the Trope Namer, I think the trope could use a little help from a proper illustration. I did a quick image search to get the ball rolling.
