I didn't know where the current came from until I checked it, but I thought she looked like a goddess anyway. As such I don't see much if any improvement in the suggestion.
Check out my fanfiction! You think she looks like a goddess? Hm, I don't.
The suggestion also looks way cooler, so there's that :P "How well does the image illustrate the trope?" is not the only criterion for a good page image.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. As much as I love Cosmos, I think the suggestion shows the "divine" part more.
If we want to keep it in the Final Fantasy family, there's the Light Emperor◊.
Not bad, but too much purple. That may distract. OP is good.
Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed.OP is much better than the current.
In the OP though, the angel is wearing more blue and gold than white.
EDIT - How about Athena◊ or Splendid Venus◊ from Yugioh? Prominently gold and white with bright yellow aura, obviously angelic in design (though Athena is more a valkyrie) for a divine implication.

Man, there's a really good example in Xenoblade, but we can't use it because the character in question is a Walking Spoiler.
I don't really have any good opinions here yet, sorry.
Moon◊The current is green more than white for me. OP suggestion is good.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynman....green? No, Cosmos wears white.
That doesn't really give a "divine" implication to someone unfamiliar with Pokemon though.

Yes but it is greenish white in that particular picture. It is true that the OP white metal is tinted bluish, but her white wings are tinted yellowish, and the cloth is straight white with no tint. I like it.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. That one's more blue than the other is green.
Check out my fanfiction!Hm, if you mean subjectively, okay but I don't think so, and if you mean objectively, no it's not, the average saturation (in HSV) of the greenish pixels in the current is higher than the bluish pixels in the suggestion. Also, in the suggestion only the white metal is tinted blue (other whites are tinted different colors, or not tinted), but in the current all of the white is greenish.
I don't understand the steadfast opposition, the suggestion seems obviously a hundred times better than the current, in every way I can think of. I am not very familiar with either source.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. The opposition is that the OP's suggested image is not gold and white, it's gold and blue. AD is absolutely correct in noting that the suggestion is more blue than Cosmos is green. I honestly question if your monitor's colors are correct that you believe the contrary. I showed the suggested angel pic to a friend, he concurred it's blue.
In the meantime, does anyone have thoughts on some of the other suggestions brought forward?
Yes you are looking at her armor only. She is wearing other white. (It is not my monitor. For one thing, I am a professional image manipulator, color calibration is something I put a lot of time and energy into; and for another, I don't mean how it looks subjectively, I mean what an image-editing software application says about the color-code in the pixels.) Also, that is very easily changed, if that is the only complaint then consider it addressed.
I also like Athena (8.1).
v Note that this post was written before I edited in the color-adjusted image. Her armor is not at all tinted blue anymore.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. The armor is the majority of her outfit though. The sashes and wings are white, yes, but her outfit as a whole is mostly blue, and that is what people are going to say when they see the picture "she's wearing blue and gold". Coupled with the sky and the lighting, really the art is much more blue than it is white.
EDIT - If we're going to bring color correction into this then frankly we can use whatever image we want. Why not color correct Cosmos and use her?

Chipping in because this was brought to my attention. Cosmos' outfit is actually white in the in-game model. The reason it seems to be greenish in the artwork seems more like an issue with the filters used to edit the image than the colouring itself. The angel's outfit in the artwork, on the other hand, is clearly sky-blue.
EDIT: grammar and bad term

^^ Because the image is better in several other ways, too, and because nobody has posted a color-corrected version of the current. Plus, the color was never my complaint about it; the colors could be perfectly white and perfectly gold and I would still think it's weak. Also "[i]f we're going to bring color correction into this then frankly we can use whatever image we want" is definitely false. Removing a tint is extremely low-impact, that would work only for images that are already really close.
^ Do you mean 1.2 or 17.1?

Rosa, green and yellow.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanArceus◊ from Pokemon Conquest. Maybe the glowing aura will help emphasize.
That pokemon looks too alien to me.
People don't view colours in absolutes. People view colours in relation to other things. If there are actual whites in an image and it for some reason is shaded blue elsewhere, it looks blue. If all white shadows are blue, it looks shadowed. Also, colour wasn't my original argument either.

Check out my fanfiction!Okay totally but this◊ is not blue. At all. If you think the blue clouds make it look like she's not wearing white armor, I don't know what to say, I think that's unusual.
And I'm not and never have been telling you what you think subjectively, or explaining how people in general perceive color.
Changing a tint and color-correction seem like they're in exactly the same category as brightening a dark image, to me.

Crown Description:
Nominations for replacement images:
I know suggesting images for pages that don't have one is more important than improving the image on pages that already do, but I stumbled across this and don't think it's good. The current page image depicts a character that may look divine if you're familiar with that work, but I'm not so it doesn't. I suggest something more obviously angelic (and more gold and white, to boot).
current: [1]◊, suggestion: [2]
The circle-C line is kind of annoying. Would it be cool to paint or crop it out and put the same thing in the caption?
