Alright, so what did you liked or hated about the classic stop motion movie The Nightmare Before Christmas?

I personally loved this movie so much! It was so creative and I loved the story line about Jack trying to become Santa Claus only to become a disaster later on.

The animation and characters were creative and I enjoyed all of the songs. The creativity didn't quite extend to the plot, but overall, it's presented very well and I make sure to watch it once or twice every year.

I loved all of the songs too! My favorites were "What's This?" "Sally's Song" and "This is Halloween!"

I love this movie. It's probably my third favorite animated movie Disney released outside of the canon (yes, for me that's actually a good rank). My favorite songs are "Sally's Song", "What's This", and "Jack's Lament" but I love all of them. My brother owns the soundtrack and Nightmare Revisited, but I think know I listen to them more than he does.

It also stands out as one of the few movies my favorite character is a lead and one of the few movies my favorite character is female.

I also felt like Oogie Boogie was channeling Audrey II a bit, which is always a plus.

I'm actually kind of glad that this movie is not exactly in the main Disney cannon because it really allowed it to expand to something completely different from the usual Disney movie (it's a musical but it's visuals are pretty dark).

[up][up] Oogie Boogie has a hell of a lot more Cab Calloway in him. Not surprising when you remember that composer Danny Elfman is a fan, and sang "Minnie the Moocher" while dressed as Satan in that classic film, Forbidden Zone.

I liked the concept and most of the movie, but felt it faltered with the message. It felt to me as though it was claiming that Jack should have never tried this Christmas thing, would never be good at it, and should just quit whining about having the same ol Halloween every year. It might have been cleared up more if perhaps Santa had given him some kind of philosophical clear-up after being rescued by him, but all he does is just gruffly leave. The snow at the end does imply a bit of forgiveness, but it comes abruptly; why is Santa suddenly giving it to this town? Everything else I like.

I like it, but I don't get why it's so popular among bands.

I also wondered why there were so many bands doing the song remixes for the movie, although there were some songs that I did enjoyed the remixes to.

It's certainly a good one and a gods end for stop motion. The method was nearly non-existent in movies beforehand for a long time.

Yeah, it's was great that The Nightmare Before Christmas brought stop motion animation back to the big screen!

I like the movie for what it is, but it's waaaaaaayyyy too popular with teen Goths.

[up][up][up]You mean, besides being the go-to method for creating non-humanoid monsters in fantasy/sci-fi movies before Jurassic Park?

[up]Well, would you call Jurassic Park an animated movie? Or a movie which happens to use CGI for the special effects? Having some monster walking around in a live action movie is just not same as a stop motion animated movie.

Well you could have specified that. You just said stop-motion, didn't say it had to be entirely animated.
