The Prince of Foolish Relevations

For several centuries extraordinary girls and terrifying monsters have appeared throughout history. Sometimes worshiped as gods, other times forming legends around themselves or merely nothing, they all faded into myth eventually. However, their last occurrence was an exception. With the German use of a magi during World War II, the governments of the world realized their dangerous potential. Each setting out into their own way to prepare against the magi and the monsters they fight, the latest occurrence begins now in the year 2014.

This is sort of a Magical Girl roleplay, and while the governments' (re)actions to the magi will be important later on this is mostly about the magi themselves. Though, there are the monsters known as the Kachecce that will pose a threat to generally everyone. The Kachecce are a magical "race" of female monogender monsters born from emotions that live only for destruction. However, the magi's transformation trinkets (Mana Disks) are the leftover magic of slain Kachecce. Currently there are sixteen Mana Disks in existence, and there'll be fourteen Kachecce to kill making a maximum of thirty Mana Disks (thus a potential thirty magi). In addition, since Kachecce are female Mana Disks will only function for girls since the magical energy won't resonate with males.

Besides the Mana Disks, there are also Artificial Magi. Cloned from (the children of) previous magi and/or created from Kachecce biology, they are the governments main method of combating them. Though their powers are weaker than real magi, Artificials can be of either biological gender. This is also the real reason human reproductive cloning is taboo in their world, since anti-governmental groups producing Artificial Magi for their own ends would be bad. There'll also be other Magi and Kachecce countermeasures (such as artificial Mana Disks) later on.

Finally each Kachecce, and in turn Mana Disk, falls under one of five classifications: Pawn (weak but multiple abilities), Rook (physically strong, can summon weapons, and excellent movement powers), Knight (jack of all stats), Bishop (magically powerful, excellent range, ordinary elsewhere), and Queen (the most powerful in terms of raw strength). Of the initial sixteen Disks up to eight will be reserved for NPC Magi, and a maximum of sixteen characters (eight magi and eight artificial magi) will be the starting limit.

_____________________________________________________________________________

Mana Disks:

Pawn-Class: The weakest in terms of raw strength and the most numerous (sixteen), Pawns make up for this in two ways: Having the most abilities (a versatile multi-range basic magic attack, a five feet ranged diagonal movement ability, summoning a spear, and performing an enhanced version of one of them once per transformation) and possessing the unique ability of temporarily becoming a different Class upon absorbing enough power. In order each Pawn Disk is based on Wands, Cups, Swords, Coins, Three, Five, Eight, Ten, Page, The Hierophant, The Lovers, The Hanged Man, Death, The Tower, The Star, The Sun.

Rook-Class: The second physically strongest and at four, Rooks make up their lack of ranged magic attacks by being Lightning Bruisers. With their movement ability they can travel up to thirty feet in a straight line, but can't make turns mid-use or go in diagonal lines. In addition to their speed, strength, and toughness Rooks can summon any form of melee weapon. In order each Rook Disk is based on The Emperor, The Chariot (NPC Reserved), The Wheel of Fortune, and The Devil (formerly the Nazi Magi's).

Knight-Class: The most versatile yet average capped at four, Knights can perform the basic functions of the other Classes (so as to move in any direction with improved physical attributes, mild magic and two summonable weapons) though makes up with much more rapid movement spam. In order each Knight Disk is based on Strength (NPC Reserved), Justice, Temperance (Kachecce), and The Moon (Kachecce).

Bishop-Class: The second magically strongest and at four, Bishops are extremely potent ranged fighters while somewhat lacking when it comes to close range. In addition they can move up to fifteen feet in a diagonal line and summon ranged weapons, though that is it. In order each Bishop Disk is based on The Magician, The High Priestess, The Empress, and The Hermit.

Queen-Class: The most powerful in terms of raw strength, the two suffer from lack of finesse resulting in every application being rather destructive. Though in addition can summon any kind of weapon and move up to fifty-five feet in any direction. In order each Queen Disk is based on The Judgement (Kachecce) and The World (Kachecce).

_____________________________________________________________________________

Five last things, any inaccuracies/absolute wrongness in translating chess pieces into power classes is entirely acceptable on my part. They're mostly just there for theme, and in-universe only a magical creature that's self-appointed Magi Teacher actually uses those terms. Two, the listing of Tarot Cards isn't even an acknowledged thing in-universe and is just there to serve as a basis & theme for developing your abilities. Three, any Disk that doesn't have Kachecce or NPC Reserved after it is available for choosing. Fourth, the Mana Disks basically look like tiny wrist shields. To activate (second time onward) and deactivate your transformation just think those commands. The first transformation happens immediately upon making contact. Finally, the Mana Disks hold no threat of turning you into a Kachecce or reviving it.

  • Name:
  • Race: (Human, Artificial Magi-H or Artificial Magi-K)
  • Class: (Queen is strictly off-limits for the beginning)
  • Abilities: (I'll prefer only one or two defined themes/elements, including the Pawn energy absorption)
  • Appearance: (Both normal and Magi outfits)
  • Inventory: (Be perfectly sensible and logical)
  • Backstory: (There's technically no age limit on who can use a Mana Disk, but even with a youth effect... Besides that, you can only have been a Magi for one month at most and no prior experience with Kachecce or other Magi for that matter)

Lastly I would say it is... July 1st 2014 there currently. That and the H/K refers to their nature (H are clones of magi [children] while K are half-human hybrids with emotional problems and an almost intrinsic need to destroy, second/third generation pureblood variants of either type acceptable). Oh and Kachecce dissipate into nothing upon death so you would need a living specimen to sample their code.

  • Name: Alyssa Mears
  • Race: Human Magical Girl
  • Class: Knight
  • Abilities: She has a sword she calls the Ebony Blade, which resembles some sort of hybrid between a spear and a sword. It can cast lightning, fire and ice from its blade by being swung. She also has her suit of armor that comes with it, which is extremely hard to crack. She is also capable of flash stepping within ten feet.
  • Appearance: As a normal human, she has a rather disheveled head of black hair, which was cut into a more boyish haircut, despite her father's objections. She has icy blue eyes, which a lot of people say look rather harsh. She wears a white long sleeved shirt, a black jacket over that which is markedly a guy's jacket, skinny jeans, and steel toed boots. She veritably radiates rebellion. She is also a very athletic young woman, and its apparent she participated in amateur sports and weight-lifting. She has a tattoo, despite being only sixteen, namely, two eastern dragons on her lower stomach.
    • As a Magical Girl, she more resembles some sort of medieval knight, with the black armor markedly very lustrous. The wrist-guard of her Mana-Disk is now covered by a large triangular shield.
  • Inventory: She carries a lighter, a pocket-knife, and several dark fantasy works in her backpack - including Berserk and Claymore.
  • Backstory: Alyssa is a rather troubled young woman - she comes from an upper-middle class family, has three older brothers, including a very successful one currently working for Totally Not Goldman Sachs. Her mother and father - a nurse and a computer consultant respectively - wanted a "traditional" daughter - they got Faith Lehane. At any rate, she has no intention of being the person they "wanted" her to be, and doesn't think their viewpoints have changed, even after five or so years after a confrontation - it turns out, one of her brothers is not as bad as she thinks he is (he had a change of heart), and she just hates her oldest brother for working with Goldman. She found the Disk very recently while she was running away from home and exploring a wide open area. Even though she's running away every now and then, she still lives with her parents and two older brothers, while the third one visits now and then, but lives by himself usually. She is outright detested at school, for a number of reasons.

You would also be allowed a movement ability (flash stepping, teleporting, telekinetic slingshot, not-quite-flight, etc) with a maximum range of ten feet per use plus utter spammity of said move. You'll probably get horribly disoriented if you spam it way too much in a short period. She's perfectly acceptable but more info on her family and home/social life/current whereabouts as well as how (long ago) she found the disk if that already happened. By the way, retroactively lied about the Tarot thing not being acknowledged in-universe. In order... The first half of the Pawn Disks have titles like Pawn of Swords and Pawn of Ten. The second would work like Page's Pawn and The Sun's Pawn. Rooks would be The Emperor's Rook and The Devil's Rook, while for Knights it would be Strength Knight and The Moon Knight. Bishops would be Bishop Magician and The Bishop Empress. Finally, it would be Queen of The Judgement and Queen of The World. The titles get instantly jammed into your brain upon first transformation.

By the way, the children of magi really only get powers if they were concieved or born while their mother was transformed (though you'll still get swanky hair/eye colors as a biological possibility regardless). In fact the reason the MDs give superpowers at all is because Transformation more or less makes you a half-human hybrid. So K-Type Arts are actually pretty comparable to a magi, but are too unruly at this point in time for almost any field mission other than fighting magi and Kachecce. Oh, and just because the Kachecce and (most) world governments are against you don't feel like your character has to be a fighter. The Strength Knight Magical Girl is a beastmaster/person charmer who uses her powers for fame and would actually be terrified if she had to deal with a Kachecce.

I'm curious if there's anything regarding backstories for artificially created magi that we need to know—are they allowed to have normal lives previously, or do they have a situation where they've been living under their governments' thumb since they were born? Or something else?

Dumb question probably, but I just want clarification.

Not dumb at all actually, and it depends mainly on what their creators would consider acceptable. H-Types for example are much more likely to have social lives than K-Types, and one of the Strength Magi's oldest friends is actually a male H-Type that treats her like a little sister. More specifically, any Art that would casually expose their powers (such as an intentionally loony H-Type named Ryan Steele) are generally not allowed to run around without supervision. Though, it also depends on the government itself. For example the United States for the most part consider their Arts valuable soldiers and treat them with the respect that warrents. On the other hand, female-oppressive governments or those that view their Arts as weapons are likely to abuse or treat them like dirt (for the greater good!) since they just want results. The Germans are actually extremely polite to theirs partially out of a sense of guilt/atonement/moral outrage regarding the Nazis' actions with their Magical Girl (a Jewish girl they mind broke cause they thought her powers were innate) and partially out of fear as she murdered everyone around her once she snapped. Other Arts might actually be an employee's (grand)child, which greatly increases the odds they'll have a social live. There's frequently arranged marriage between Arts as well so as to produce second or third generation individuals (the aim for some is for them to become a full-fledged sub-race).

Oh, and regarding power levels it goes Kachecce > Magi/K-Type > H-Type > Magi Children. H-Types are generally stronger than Magi Children, but they can surpass H-Types if their mother spent the entirety or majority of the pregnancy transformed. Still, unless their biological father is an Art or another Magi their power would still be lesser than their mother. Hmm... The governments have also developed female Homosexual Reproduction for that purpose actually, with that mainly hidden/expensive to the public due to the same reasoning behind reproductive cloning being taboo.

So here's a question/possible world building. would it be possible that a paramilitary group capture one of the Kachecce and either mass produce, or regular produce K-types of their own to lend them, at a rather high price, to countries that either don't have girls of their own or resources to produce either an H-type or a K-type?

They would need to keep the Kachecce alive if they want to use any of its biological material, but it would be possible. The main problem with K-Types is they're harder to train and socialize, so plenty would be turned off by the idea of a barely controlled weapon that has to be taught its job. However, since the fear of Kachecce and magi would make every government want some countermeasure aforementioned paramilitary organisation would have plenty of business (though the people who can readily produce Arts will try to eliminate them). Speaking, a lot of sexism/cultural differences are the results of perfectly justified paranoia starting from the 1500s (where magi and Kachecce ran rampant when a magi wasn't ending/causing wars or taking over lands) . Though as magi and Kachecce faded into myth the future generations quickly lost their justification.

I should mention they've yet to successfully produce reliable test tube making (or safe artificial aging, though they derived a formula from progeroid syndromes when they need an Art immediately), so most clones need a surrogate mother. This also means an Art is very complicated to replace so no sane government has them die willy-nilly. They do have some means to create a lifeform outside of a womb, but its currently too unrefined for humans (Kachecce however...). Artificial Kachecce won't fade into the aether on death but won't leave behind a Mana Disk.

I love questions and would want to hear more, but more than one application would be nice too. Speaking of be fancy with the magi's powers and outfits. Arts don't get transformation sequences however, much to Ryan Steele's disappointment. Speaking of I'll write up the sheets for a couple of magi and Arts later. Oh, and while some non-magi know the term Kachecce & Mana Disk most don't meaning they'll make up names.

[up]Oh, cool, thanks... because one of the concepts I was toying with was an escaped K-type or H-type from ... lets call them Hammerhead Ltd. for now, because I love a rogue agent story.

I do like that, and I'll be quite interested in why they wanted to escape. Though since its been brought up, Arts do have stricter limits on what powers they get (what with being clones and all). I'll explain that after writing up the first two character sheets. Though can you explain more about Hammerhead?

  • Name: Iris "Ivy" Geneva/Heaven Princess Liliana
  • Race: Human
  • Class: Knight (Strength)
  • Abilities: Possessing a three foot silver staff topped with a microphone sided by small upwards angel wings, by speaking into the microphone she can hypnotize listeners with her voice. In addition she can manipulate sound with her staff, such as making things silent or more offensively launching a cacophony of sound. Finally she can sprout white wings made of light from her back to propel her through the air.
  • Appearance: Naturally having black hair, it stretches down to the small of her back when undone though usually dangles by her shoulders as two braided ponytails. Her irises, while mostly blue, seem to have a grey outer edge for which she claims are a result of her (comestic) glasses. Physically, she is a five foot tall standard American (though with prominent Russian traits implying a pure or mostly Russian father) with D-Cups (her right is smaller) and has a preference for green long-sleeved & thick clothing. Finally she's commonly found leaning forward and hugging her limbs close to her body.
    • As Heaven Princess Liliana however, her hair becomes a whitish blonde with golden-grey irises. Hanging loose her hair is perfectly straight while locks in the front curve, and set on her head is a silver laurel crown. Her mana disk has expanded into a fingerless golden glove, while the rest of her outfit (resembling a conservative battle princess or priestess) is primarily white with silver and gold trims. In addition a pattern of small angelic wings is emblazoned on her outfit's back and her shoes add two inches to her height.
  • Inventory: Two iPhone 5s (one for her normal identity and one as Liliana), Glasses Case, Purse (for miscellaneous things like cash)
  • Backstory: Born seventeen years ago between two mostly platonic friends, she only met her father once back when she was four. For the most part her mother, a rather hyperactive and plucky woman, raised her alone. Though kind and loving, her mother wasn't exactly qualified to be a proper parent. Growing up as a spoiled child, Iris was too ignorant and used to getting what she wanted that she treated others rudely. Her oblivious meanness drove others away, causing attention seeking overtones to develop on her personality. Finally, during 7th grade, Iris was confronted by an older girl who proceeded to deliver her a breaking speech. Barely holding herself together, she asked others desperately hoping the older girl was wrong. Being forced to acknowledge how mean she had been, Iris withdrew from school to wallow in guilt and sadness over her actions.

When she finally returned to school two weeks later, she was extremely meek and avoided speaking to others. When she did speak, she was either uncertain or self-hating. Eventually she started to become outright submissive, either refusing to acknowledge therapy or becoming even more meek as a result. It all came to a climax during 9th grade at a party, where a manipulative boy invited her to as part of a long-term plan to trick her into being his girlfriend. It was here she met Hal Harrington, who interrupted the boy's plan. Seeing her as someone who needs help, he became the first person she could call friend in years.

While becoming less depressed and meek, she had no chance of ever truly socializing with anyone besides Hal. Her emotional and social nature was steadily improving, music becoming a greatly enjoyed activity and becoming a favorite customer alongside Hal at a small collectibles store. Though, Hal abruptly disappeared during winter break of 11th break. Her progress started to slide each day Hal didn't show up, eventually causing her to become socially withdrawn. Still visiting the collectibles store out of habit, the owner decided to offer her early access to a new item that wasn't intended for sale until tomorrow. Presented with a small wrist-worn shield, it was explained to supposedly be a trinket worn during the 1500s by royalty. Having nothing better to do, she decided to buy it as she would of felt bad leaving without a purchase.

Taking it out of the bag as she got home, she unwrapped the plastic to put it on her left hand. This was when she discovered its true nature, and while initially confused by it all a cutely psionic voice explained what the trinket did. She mainly believed this series of events was her mind finally shattering, and upon realizing it wasn't a dream recognized the opportunity given to her. Taking the identity of Liliana, it has since been a month upon using her powers to become a singer. Though while not suffering as severely from her issues as Liliana, Ivy is still a wreck when she isn't her alterego.

  • Name: Hal Harrington
  • Race: Artificial Magi H-Type (2nd Gen)
  • Class: Rook/Knight
  • Abilities: Has the ability to manipulate earthen material in a three feet radius around himself, and can transform constructed weapons into metal. In addition can pull himself towards metal objects, either seven feet in straight lines or two and half feet diagonally.
  • Appearance: Standing six feet and two inches tall, his short unkempt brown hair and green eyes don't reflect his inhuman biology. Having a well muscled physique and numerous scars of varying nature on his body, his skin-tone however is best described as brown. In addition to having an affinity for short-sleeved shirts and long-legged sweatpants the palms of his hands have become infused with the smell & taste of metal. He's rather hateful of his official mission outfits due to the long-sleeved shirts and dress pants.
  • Inventory: Custom-Made Phone (can only contact pre-selected numbers, usually only mission control, fellow operatives, and informers/targets), Metal Ring (topped with a diamond, was a present upon his forced marriage to a 2nd Gen H-Type named Sarah), Locket (an antique 19th century locket containing a picture of him and Iris from a year ago)
  • Backstory: Born eighteen years ago, almost immediately after his birth Hal was already having his abilities tested. The decrease in overall power in comparison to his parents was disappointing, but their powers intermingling to produce his set intrigued them. It wasn't until he was four that he got to really meet his parents, quickly resulting in his limbs being hurt by his mother hugging him as tears rained onto him. Being rescued before her hug could unintentionally kill him, his training as their newest soldier started when he was five. It was in training that he was assigned to a squad of four, the hyperactive moron named Ryan Steele becoming his unwanted best friend. On his sixteenth birthday he was given the right to roam the city above to familiarize himself with the people he was expected to protect. Being rather quiet and uninterested in others, he intended to explore the city only the one day.

Stumbling across a party held by teenagers, he was nearly ready to leave when he noticed a male harassing a meek girl. Seeing she was uncomfortable, Hal quickly intervened causing the boy to leave with little resistance. Riotous music in the background, the two simply looked at each other in silence trying to understand the other. The girl grabbing his left arm as he turned to walk away, he looked back to see a face one would describe as a wounded puppy. Sighing, he knew he couldn't leave her alone. Soon, she became his personal little project and eventually started to see himself as her protective big brother. That, however, was forced to an end.

Coming home one day in December, he was informed he would be wedded to his teammate Sarah in only a couple of days. Questioning the timing, Hal was informed it was being done because his training was decaying ever since he started obsessing over that human girl. Not seeing the logic in how marriage would prevent him from seeing Iris, for a moment his blank face just stared upon hearing his rights to roam the city was being revoked. It was quickly replaced by a face overflowing with rage, rage at being expected to let that girl continue suffering. The following rampage only lasted for a few minutes before being subdued, though the messager was reduced to a barely alive pulp by then.

It took several days for Hal to finally calm down, with that day being his wedding. Going along with it for simplicity's sake, he was wondering the entire time how he could convince his creators about Iris. Days blending into months, Hal noticed the newest singer Heaven Princess Liliana and her distinct familiarity. On a closer inspection of her attire, he noticed the omnipresent glove and its true nature. Now he had something that would convince them.

Sorry about the characters, A) I'm not too fond of unrepentantly cheerful backstory, B) probably could of chose a better pair to start, and C) left quite a bit out so I'll have flashback material. Besides that, regarding Arts; Since they have limited samples, Arts of the same class are likely going to have similar abilities. Two, when making a Gen 1 H-Type develop the abilities like you would for a magi and then cut that in half. Three, 2nd or 3rd Gen Arts would have all their powers cut in half the more diluted it is. In addition, the stronger version of an ability is not augmented by other classes (so a Pawn/Bishop would not add up, though a Rook/Bishop can move straight and diagonally). Finally, an Art gets mix-and-match/fused powers from their predecessors.

Oh and the thing that contacted Ivy is Kenon, a cute magical talking winged cat/weasel thing that tracks all new magi to inform them of their powers. The speech about the Kachecce is saved for those that want to kill something or would be expected to deal with one soon.

Oh, this looks fun! Let's see...

  • Name: Arianna Ellets
  • Race: Artificial Magi-K
  • Class: Knight
  • Abilities: Aria can summon a thin, rapier-like blade and a halberd, both made of of a dark crystalline material. She can fly quite fast, which looks rather like she's ice-skating. She can create a sort of energy she around herself or her weapons, which can be shaped into various forms or blasty attacks
  • Appearance: Magi form (though the black sections are indigo)and Normal
  • Inventory: A tracking chip implanted into her arm, a specialized phone, a comm device.
  • Backstory: Aria was cloned in a lab shortly about 17 years prior to the game. She was raised to be more controllable than the average K-Type. While she won't go against orders, she got good at getting around rules and snarking at people who couldn't actually punish her for it. However, she hasn't been in genuine combat yet.

Sorry it's not finished, I'm typing on my phone right now.

It would actually be Pawn/Knight (no need to edit), and Knights are basically super Pawns already. The only addition is the transformation, but you would need to absorb a particular source (ala Conduit or Dragon Slayer, but emotions aren't an allowed source) to achieve it. That is already difficult for a normal magi, but for Arianna she's essentially a first gen H-Type in terms of raw power. Since she's basically a straight up Knight, I would like to know specifically why you want her to be part Pawn. Oh, and while Arts don't get transformations feel free to give them fancy outfits nonetheless. In addition I'll write up a few more sheets with my next post.

Regarding Kenon, its power set is basically just flying/telepathy/invisibity. In fact I would say he resembles Kerebos a fair deal but not to Expy levels. In addition, it usually only hangs around a magi who needs immediate help. If there are no magi for it to greet or help, it'll stay with the last one it met.

  • Name: Michael Skye
  • Race: Magi-Child
  • Class: Bishop
  • Abilities:
    • Mental Force: Michael is capable of extremely advanced telekinesis and telepathy, though this is one area where he is rather inexperienced and inarticulate. However, due to how powerful this is, it results in a "Poltergeist" effect, in that randomly, things will fly around if left near him.
    • Primal Energy: Michael seems to be a capable manipulator and generator of odd, powerful energy. Seems to be largely because he has no experience using this power at all, and he doesn't even know he has it. This power can allow him to launch powerful, destructive energy waves, heal people, or produce some really odd, pseudo-reality warping effects depending on how he uses it and in which way, and with what intentions. Though, again, he doesn't know he can even do this.
  • Appearance: At first, he seems like a rather odd looking young man, his eyes are often compared to doll eyes, big, blue and animesque. His blond hair is rather plastic looking, and his skin is very strangely pale. He is very thin and weedy looking, and in fact, due to how weak bodily he is, he needs what looks like a bishop chess piece-chair to get to difficult to reach locations. He usually wears a simple white long sleeved shirt, blue pants and sneaker shoes, when not hooked up to his device.
  • Inventory: He has next to nothing on his person except the clothes on his back...and that weird levitating chair.
  • Backstory: Michael is a government project, an attempt to use methods to create as powerful a Magical Person as they can. However, when he proved unable to use his abilities to the level that was expected, he was deemed defective and thrown out into the desert, due to one scientist's crisis of conscience. There, he met a crude, rebellious teenage girl...

There are so many problems with him it would be easier to just redo the application or make a new character than have me explain the problems. Though his powerset is certainly one, more Primal Energy than Mental Force though. Oh, and everyone? The various governments are all smart enough not to dismiss "defective" Arts, and worst-case scenario they would kill an Art instead of letting it roam free. If someone did let one escape they would try to retrieve or kill it. Besides that, I'll list more NP Cs.

  • Name: Faith Long
  • Race: Human
  • Class: Pawn (of Wands)
  • Abilites: She can generate four feet of flames, two feet per side. While she can manipulate the generated fire freely, it only works in a ten foot radius. If the fire goes outside that boundary it'll quickly fade into nothing. However by summoning her halberd she can channel the flames through it to extend the range. In addition she can absorb fire and teleport five feet diagonally.
  • Appearance: Possessing short red hair and brown eyes, she stands at five foot five. Noticeably looking Hispanic despite her Russian heritage, she has a couple faded scars across her limbs with the most notable being a small circular section on her left hand. Practically having an ironing board for a chest, she has an affinity for long red clothes even in summer but is easily annoyed by being forced to wear stereotypical girl outfits (though has such things anyways for deep immersion gaming, roleplaying, and to better act a character).
    • As a Magical Girl, she has a very tomboyish outfit that's predominantly red with black as a secondary color. Topped on her head is a tricon hat with an inverted scheme, lined with golden blue feathers pointing upwards with the last few extending two inches upwards as a result. In addition her Mana Disk has expanded into an armguard.
  • Inventory: iPhone 4 (mainly random apps)
  • Backstory: Born sixteen years ago, Faith never knew her mother and was raised along with her older brother by their father Gerald. While her father is caring but slightly distant, her older brother is noticeably annoyed by her actions. This resulted in him burning her hand when they went camping twelve years for stealing his chair. Though while their father was angry, this caused her to develop minor pyromania as marked by instead of screaming "Ow that hurts" she yelled "Ow that's awesome!" Thus things had a tendency to burn around her, and still uses fire to get rid of things. Despite her brother's annoyance of her and apparently returning those feelings, she actually cares for her brother a lot.

Besides this event from her childhood, it was more or less what one would call normal: aside from the girl with little restraints, no sense of shame, and a lack of personal understanding (she can't even tell you where she lives) that lived it. Thus as a result she didn't have many long-lasting or true friends, like she cared or anything. However she quickly became a fan of writing, shows, and games (though Drama Class didn't work out well because of her strictly doing improvised or her own made up lines). Spending most of her time online or trying to tinker with things, she frequently goes through the attic for stuff.

  • Name: Ryan Steele
  • Race: Artificial Magi H-Type (1st Gen)
  • Class: Pawn (of Wands)
  • Abilites: He can generate two feet of flames, one foot per side. Able to manipulate it in a five foot radius, it'll fade instantly outside of that radius. While able to summon a halberd, absorb fire, teleport two and a half feet his "trademarked move" is to focus his flames into spinning drills emanating from his hands.
  • Appearance: Spiky red hair and emerald green eyes, the Hispanic young man stands at five foot eight. His affinity for long-sleeved clothes and cleanly body can leave one claiming him handsome, though certainly has a girlish build. He also claims his outfit of fingerless gloves, a red scarf, cross necklace, striped shirt-jacket, and flame decal pants his "Magical Boy!" transformation (which he partially does to screw with a Magi's head).
  • Inventory: "Raiju, Roaring Thunder!" (originally the prototype for electric shooting swords, the core is filled with organic matter derived from the Kachecce) , "Hephaetus, Bursting Barrage!" (an ordinary handgun besides its higher than normal melting point and accuracy, it uses special bullets that explode upon hitting something or thirty seconds after being fired), "Celluar, Endless Range" (a custom cellphone exactly like Hal)
  • Backstory: Born eighteen years ago (actual birth in August), Ryan is a partial clone of a Hispanic magi who received his Y chromosome from her younger brother. Carried to term by his "brother"'s wife, the moment he hit the ground he was already the cheerful idiot he would be known as marked by him laughing instead of screaming or crying. It wasn't until he was eight and already being trained with three other Arts that he was actually told about his cloned nature, though that didn't stop him from seeing his "brother" as his dad. During the course of training he developed an obsession with throwing flame knives and emitting spiraling fire from his hands.

Upon his sixteenth birthday and not allowed to roam the city, he was instead allowed to test equipment they were making. Besides a brief moment of excited surprise regarding the marriage of two of his teammates, nothing particularly notable happened until they were deemed officially mission ready a couple of months ago. He was quickly reprimanded for drilling an non-assassinate target's eye out while laughing joyfully at their suffering, and was quietly laughing at the "fond memory" during the entire reprimand and shortly afterwards.

Did I mention Hal and Ryan's squad are gonna be enemies? Besides that, feel free to give your Arts nifty toys and yes, Ryan & Faith have a very similar powerset because of the biology they share. Though their backstories are rather short since the significant events would happen during the RP, while Iris and Hal would be resolving the ones already established in their bio.

I'm sorry that isn't a detailed backstory, but I hit a writer's block.

Well I suppose female K-Types would be more psychologically stable than male ones, since Kachecce are purely female meaning all sorts of tinkering would be required to make male ones. Regardless they'll have the base impulse of causing destruction from their birth which requires early intervention to lessen or redirect. You could list her ethnicity and since she's a K-Type, they might of introduced her to religion in their attempts to keep her under control. Where she was created and how the people there treated would also be good. Oh, her and other people's reaction to her hair & eyes would be good.
