Man, this thread makes me want to finish Dusk... For some reason, it's hard for me to get into this game compared to the other Digimon World DS game, even though it has more Digimon that I like in it. The Lunamon line is pretty much my favorite line of mons in the series so far.
Though it's been so long... I don't know if I want to start over or just try to remember what I was doing (last thing I remember was trying to get my Digimon certain types of EXP so they can evolve into the forms I want).
Also, I'm sure everyone in here has heard of this, but there's a petition to get Decode localized, among other titles (the link's also in my sig). I don't know how much of an effect it will seriously have (the page mentions Bandai-Namco noticing the effort, but that doesn't really mean much), but if you've enjoyed the Digimon World games, I recommend signing it.

I still can't beat the original Digimon World, but I've gotten closer than I ever did as a kid.
The Protomen enhanced my life.man, i loved dusk.
its basically the polar opposite to pokemon. with pokemon, i feel like quiting the moment i end up picking up 5th pokemon before ive gotten to the elite 4, because grinding is just that big a pain in the ass.
meanwhile i pick up dusk every now and then for the express purpose of getting more digimon, seeing more of the evolutions, and grinding them to a useable level.
dusk manages to do it so right where pokemon can do it so wrong.

I found grinding in Dusk WAY more annoying than in Pokemon due to there being no way to lower the encounter rate and having to constantly de-digivolve your Digimon and grind them up repeatedly for every evolution.
The Protomen enhanced my life.So I've just spent over five hours of my weekend on the goddamned Monochrome Shop. Without success.
Since it's impossible to figure out exactly who is responsible for this bullshit, I'm putting the entire development team on the list of people that will be slowly dissolved in acid as soon as I've realised my plans of world domination.
Whatever happens to have the best slowness/pain ratio. Because, bloody hell, this is just ridiculous.
Really? A whole weekend? That's.... huh. I've never had that much trouble with it.
Not a whole weekend. Just over five hours of it. Which is still excessive.
And I'm not doing anything wrong, no sirree. I'm making those profit margins jump like flees on a hot plate, and the customers love me for it. But there is only so much you can do when the game decides over half your customers want meat that you can only sell for about 20 bits of profit, if you are lucky.
And god forbid I actually get to sell more than one Medicine.
Absolute. Fucking. Bullshit.
Oh. Yeah, that is a problem.
I somehow got the Monochromon shop when I didn't even know how to do it properly.
The Protomen enhanced my life....i forgot how creepy the main character of redigitize is in that opening cinematic.
the three main characters are all speaking to each other through some instant messaging service, and their avatars appear to be webcams. even the girl whose avatar is a cat thing. i mean, its fully animated n all, and its copying what shes doing...
all except the main character, whose avatar remains a single, still image of his wide eyed, soulless open-smile face.
he's terrifying ._.
btw rob, you may be happy to know, that redigitize has a fan translation at 100% (its last report near the end of last month indicated the first edit was done too, and they're now working on the 2nd edit)

.... I am suddenly interested in giving that game a shot.
Holy shit! They're that far along?
And that's from yesterday if I'm reading the date right too. That rocks my socks. And my socks do not rock very easily.
One Strip! One Strip!that is a lie, and you know it.
your socks are rocked with the ease of a rocking chair. or horse. or rocking [noun].
You calling me a liar chuckles?
Them's fighting words! Draw your sword so that I may shoot you.
One Strip! One Strip! But I didn't see anything about a link to an actual patch. Is that not a thing yet?
I still remember beating Digimon World 3 when I was like twelve. I was utterly confused as to where that Lord Megadeath guy came from, and what his Digimon were supposed to be.
Also, that evil Humongous Mecha Digimon was something I always wanted to fight, but despite my Bonus Boss expectations, it never reappeared.
Strangely, despite the fact people called the game Nintendo Hard, it never really seemed that difficult for me.
Sign on for this After The End Fantasy RP.For me, the biggest part of the "difficulty" came in the form of every single save file crashing about 40 hours in, which more or less turned my efforts at playing it into an attempt at speedrunning for about 10 years, when I am really not adept or suited for speedrunning.
And then I used my computer, and solved that problem real quick.
Insanity!!!
A dude on Youtube who's been translating the 3DS version of Digimon World Redigitize has been updating again almost a year after he last stopped (August 22, 2013).
I'm watching them right now. Look for Gundam Final Games if you want to see it too.
Edit: Crap. He doesn't add the text anymore.
Guess I could just listen, but the truth is, I don't like Let's Plays and don't care to hear people yapping in my videos.

One Strip! One Strip!I've had a lot of experience with the first 3 games, never played the fourth.
I'd say DW 1 is overall the best, especially in terms of being fun to play. with that said i wish digivolution methods weren't so obtuse. you kinda need a guide to really get something specific you want, the game won't even tell you the requirements once you've actually gotten the digimon.
I played Digimon World 2 a LOT and there are the makings of a seriously great game in there. I love the idea of dungeon crawling and raising digimon....but the grinding just kills it for me. there also isn't enough visual variety in the domains themselves, which can get pretty boring.
Digimon World 3 would be a lot better if the encounter rate and difficulty spikes together didn't line up in insidious ways to wreck you. you can go from being fine in one screen and then get completely bodied in the next one. i also didn't care for the 3d models, but the sprites look pretty good.
All 3 games have pretty rockin' music, btw.
[1] This along with those damn Musyamon and the area in general gave me chills as a kid.
[2] Head bangingly good.
overall i think the games had pretty good ideas but were lacking in polish...or well, that goes for those first three anyway. i never played any digimon games afterwards.
World 2 - I remember the flash of the Big Bad's face, and how familiar it was to Night of Wallachia's smily face "form" during Melty Blood.
Gaea in general was a creepy bastard.
World 1 - me and my old best friend used to play it together.
Sign on for this After The End Fantasy RP.I got a Phoenixmon in Digimon World 1 once by accident.
Unfortunately, since it was on its last legs by the time I got it, I couldn't really use it for anything important :(
The Protomen enhanced my life.World 1 - Ragequit shortly after leaving the town, because my starter always digivolved into Numemon. Every. Single. Time.
World 2 - I stopped at the Zudomon domain I think. I don't remember why I stopped; I think I was running out of steps the first time I got to the boss floor, so I left but never tried again for some reason.
World 3 - I never got very far. I think I recruited all the starters, and that's about it. I think I had only just entered the forest south of the starting town after switching to the Amaterasu server. Then my memory card got lost/corrupted (can't remember) so I had to start from scratch. No biggie, I liked the game anyway. I ended up very nearly getting slaughtered during every battle in the badlands, though I don't remember having any problems the first time around.

Give the God Eater game thread some love!
So I started a new game, and got off to a pretty good start clearing out the lower-level areas with Agumon/Centaurumon. Quite fun, even though a lot of my bigger victories rely on a hefty supply of HP recovery disks.
And now, I'm at Grand Canyon, and I'm trying to recruit Monochromon. Let me tell you, I hate this particular job. In fact, it's quite often that I start a game, do well at first, and then hit the Monochrome Shop like a brick wall. It's a ridiculous Luck-Based Mission that costs eight in-game hours to even attempt, in a game where time is quite precious, and only pays out as much as two or three battles lower-end battles if you fail. But I can't just not do it, because Monochromon is too important not to recruit.
And now, after ninety minutes of save scumming followed by ragequitting, I am once again wondering if the game is worth going through this f*cking mess again.
