If anything, the opposition against cyberization should be there from picketers all the way to terrorist groups. In SAC for example, there's a pro-left terror group that took the risk of kidnapping the only child of a CEO responsible for championing the cause of cyberization in Japan.

Of course, there may be the occassional rogue military or maybe public security unit that's trying to undermine public safety to right a wrong in terms of cover ups and illegal mischief. That too is common in cyberpunk works. Though I've yet to see anything else more interesting recently, aside from Watch Dogs' use of a mobile phone to hack stuff.

Also, can't wait to use some actual weapons in the RP that have AP capabilities, though I've yet to see if it'll work against anyone who's fully cyborg.

Out of curiosity, where is Echo City? Is it an island like New York? Does it have Docks?

It's meant to be a mystery - part of the plot (read the old posts).

[up][up][up] Given my character has Instant Armor and weird biotechnological Technopath powers...hm, I don't know what tropes he'd fit in, or classification.

Ok, the giant monster fetus thing is just sounding awesome now...
To you probably... If you're really curious here's the page where it technically appears: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13632364410A05821600&page=31 (the past few pages are fighting and mind rape)
Yeah, I'm a sick little puppy. I watched my first horror movies (A Nightmare on Elm Street, Chucky and ALIEN, respectively) when I was 8, though, so it's not entirely my fault... Maybe. And surgery shows before that, now that I think of it.
Yeah, let's not get off topic here.
'Kkut'? Oh dear, that... isn't the best nickname if you know a bit of Dutch.
Well clearly I don't know Dutch.

Yeah those are some very great ideas so far.

Out of curiosity, where is Echo City? Is it an island like New York? Does it have Docks?
What Lt. B Gob, I'm keeping it a mystery for special reasons.

You didn't really answer me regarding how successful/developed Genetic Manipulation is. Though besides that, I was imagining the mind stealer more as an NPC. Without even know how to work that as a PC. By the way, have you played Transistor?

You didn't really answer me regarding how successful/developed Genetic Manipulation is.
It's developed massively, but its success varies highly and veers towards the badder side of things rather than good.

Besides such a subject matter isn't the biggest matter of this RP anyway.

Though besides that, I was imagining the mind stealer more as an NPC. Without even know how to work that as a PC. By the way, have you played Transistor?
No I have not played Transistor, or heard of it until now in fact.

Well cybernetics are so commonplace there should be some anti-cybernetic countermeasures, and if I were to apply I was figuring an artificial superhuman made for law enforcement.

Well you see the Echo City Government highly supports/promotes cybernetic enhancements for all to choose beyond any other option, essentially shunning genetic manipulation (or not. There's nothing being forced beyond promotion.)

As for an artificial superhuman made for law enforcement, I feel that wont work all that well in this world. Genetic manipulation like I said is well developed but doesn't have a very good success rate.

Law enforcement would rather play it safe with a cybernetically enhanced superhuman rather than a genetically enhanced one.

So I take it there are no anti-cybernetic countermeasures then? Figured a superhuman would be easier than constantly making better cybernetics to counter ever improving anti-cybernetic countermeasures.

Been looking at other LEO works including Policenauts and Gang Related for some inspiration so far while the wait is still there.

Can't remember the last time EMP was used in a CP work.

So, on about what day will this RP start?

And just as further world building, there would be some sort of distraction to keep the lower classes thoughts away from revolution, such as violent fights in a large stadium ala Ancient Rome, or endless gossip about which celebrity / upperclass young person is fancying which other, as well as certain programs on the Zero Network.

[up][up] I guess most assume the implants, etc. would have protection/insulation against that sort of device. But I think it would be great fun in the RP.

[up] Maybe a modernized version ala The Running Man , plus celebrity gossip and scare campaigns from the press?

Got an idea on how the Senior Inspector's opening post would happen, sadly inspired by a robbery problem ongoing in Makati City in good old Philippines, where the fun is. How ironic.

I know what I'm doing with Xander in his opening post.

Should be fun, playing such a character, and how there is a contrast between how the public views Xander, and how the media portrays the elusive "Mektave" that his masked persona becomes known as.

[up][up][up] Somewhat - his "cause" is very vague - its simply "Alteration".

I am currently thinking up methods of attack and approach for him. Its pretty much definite some of his attacks will speak of Lovecraftian Superpower.

I have a feel that JR may not like Lovecraftian stuff involved, unless he's fine with it.

As long as Cthulhu doesn't make a cameo it will probably be ok.
