Question: What started the "Poland cannot into space" joke?

Vietnam should make that their national anthem.

Poland's space program is shit.

Pretty sure that the earliest known Polandball comics were drawn by Russians. At that point in time, Poland didn't have a space programme yet.

So US is Daenerys, UK is Jon, Russia is Stannis, Switzerland is...Eddard? Germany is Joffrey (Harsh!), who are the rest?

Ukraine is Mel, France is Cersei (Ha!), Ireland is Sansa, Sweden is Varys, Lativa is Littlefinger, UK is Robb, Canada is Catelyn and Poland appears to be Tyrion. Switzerland is Jon.

Joffrey is Belgium. Germany is Black Red Gold in horizontal stripes, not Black Gold Red in vertical

In all honesty, I prefer the fact that it was stopped because the series was making the countryballs one-dimensional and that they can be easily be replaced by original characters. Not to mention that the main premise was stolen from another comic.

While I agree with your assessment, I must admit that this◊ Börkpocalypse comic is pretty awesome.

Pretty cool twist. Omsk bird gave me the chills.

Yeah, I love me some Omsk Bird, and he(?) is even more terrifying than usual here.

Anyway, to answer Marq FJA's original question: "Poland cannot into space" started with this comic◊.

It has nothing to do with any actual Polish space programme. Poland has never had a space programme of its own. There has been one Polish citizen in space (so yes, Poland CAN into space); this happened through the Russian space programme in the 1970s. Currently I assume Poland, as a EU member, takes part in ESA, but they haven't sent up any astronauts within this organisation yet.
