NBC's adaptation of Hellblazer is officially a go.

Well, that looks awful.

I disagree. I think it looks interesting.

The only complaint I heard from it is that they aren't showing him smoking.

I think it looks cool so I will definitely give it a try.

Awful? Surely you jest, good sir. This Constantine is Constantine, not Sad Keanu.

Is the smoking really that important to the character or just there to make him look "cool"? Honest question, I know it's there to give him a deadline before he dies and goes to Hell, but is him smoking that necessary?

I'd watch this. If only to keep it from getting cancelled after only a few episodes.

Also, people will probably think I'm weird, but I kinda hope we'll see Raven and Trigon show up at some point since they're half-demon and all-demon respectively.

If those two show up, what's stopping other Titans or Etrigan and Jason Blood to show up?

The smoking was relevant to at least one storyline (where he got lung cancer). But more than anything I assumed it was a shorthand way of conveying he's a dude who doesn't give a fuck.

I'd figure the unkempt tie and the general "I just woke up from five nights of drinking" look would be enough for the "I give no fucks" look

This actually looks good, unlike Gotham. I want that show to be cancelled, not this one.

Anybody wishing they'll pull a Take That! on the Keanu Reeves movie by having someone compare Constantine to Neo and Constantine would respond by saying something along the lines of either "Pffft. Neo's overrated." or "I'm more of a Morpheus than a Neo."?

I liked the comics joke where Constantine stated something to the effect of "John Constantine, no relation to the similarly-named American supernatural detective."

It looks really good.

I'm looking forward to it but I'm cautiously optimistic.

I was unaware, till I looked it up, Constantine is played by Edward Kenway's VA

I'm actually really excited for this show now, wow. That doesn't happen very often.

EDIT: Wait a minute, why is the show premiering in the fall....on Fridays?? Uh oh. Is NBC even trying to give this show some decent exposure?

Is it a full series ? I'm a bit worried if it's one story covering the entire series as opposed to a series arc (if the distinction makes sense), that'll have more trouble picking up people as it goes along.

At least they gave him an English fucking accent! And yes, in general I like this.

While the woman is, I assume, going to be a regular, I'm guessing her plotline is mostly for the first season. If it gets more than they'll introduce other stuff

Grimm is big on Friday's and Constantine is premiering after Grimm. I hope it keeps the viewers they look like they could appeal to the same fanbase.

Grimm is going to be on its fourth season and it was always on Fridays.

Constantine premieres on October 24th at 10pm.

That is awesome about Doctor Fate. I hope we also get Zatanna and other members of Justice League Dark.
