@Vampire: The Time Travelers is also doesn't have a trope page yet, either.
Why not? I think both films can warrant one.
Though, Yongary was particularly annoying. Especially that brat.....
Please allow me to introduce myself, I am a man of wealth and taste. Nice to meet you, hope you can guess my name.In the title sequence, there's a screen with a number on it, I think in the last shot before Jonah leaves the ship. It's different in at least some episodes and I have no idea what it means.
Fresh-eyed movie blogDo you mean the episode number?
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. No, it's not the episode number. During the line in the theme song "That's when an evil woman trapped him on the dark side of the Moon!" (or in the season premiere, immediately after that line) there's a shot of Jonah inside his ship. All the monitors inside his ship show a number, and it's different with every episode, not in any clear order.
EDIT: I just went and checked each episode's theme song and wrote down the mysterious numbers.

It is how highly each movie is rated!
Please allow me to introduce myself, I am a man of wealth and taste. Nice to meet you, hope you can guess my name. Here's a pretty cool interview with Joel and Jonah. Of particular interest: even though there hasn't been any official announcement of Season 12, Joel and the rest are already planning for it, picking movies to riff on, that sort of thing.
And we're back. Happy Turkey Day, folks.
There is some good still in this world.
Wasn't sure which MST 3 K thread to put this in, but this hilarious Black Comedy radio play, Soylent Scrooge, features many MST 3 K alumni. https://soundcloud.com/mst3krevivalleaguepodcast/episode-ninety-three-soylent-scrooge-or-christmas-is-made-of-people
"This audio program is satire. The opinions expressed herein do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the writers, performers or sponsor. But if you don’t understand satire there is no hope for you and you probably shouldn’t be consuming fiction of any kind."
The Protomen enhanced my life. The upcoming season of MST 3 K is about to begin shooting, will be 6 episodes, and "designed for binge-watching".
Fresh-eyed movie blogAnd how does Satellite News (the OFFICIAL site for MST 3 K news) announce this?
By doing NOTHING. Chris Cornell's really been slacking the past couple years.
With all the memes about women choosing a bear over a man, Hollywood might wanna get on an 'East of the Sun and West of the Moon' adaptationI think MST 3 K.com is now the official source for news.
Not that this is announced there either.
They might not have intended for this to be public yet, but it's big enough that I would've thought that "telling the Kickstarter backers first" meant "a couple of hours before the press release or blog post".
Edit: Oh, that's MST 3 Kinfo.com? Yeah, the show has publicized the address, but the site is clear it's fan-operated.

Chris Cornell?
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell? And Brian Henley, according to the site.
Fresh-eyed movie blogNot that one. Never knew Sampo's real name, that's kind of funny.
Any idea what the movies are gonna be?
They might be a bit recent, but I always thought Ready to Rumble and G-Saviour both deserved the full treatment from Joel and the bots. The new guy ain’t so bad either.

The backer update said the list would include "one that you guys have been asking us to cover forever, and one made" very recently or in the last decade or something like that.
I'm suspecting that they will be building some episodes around things shorter than feature length and/or breaking movies across multiple episodes with the format experimentation. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a 30ish-minute shorts collection episode.

Fresh-eyed movie blogI'm expecting some more shorts and some more serialization in the host segments, sort of like the Jonah and Kinga Get Married plotline or the chase through space from the first two Sci-Fi years. Which I can get being grudgingly done at the time, but it led to some pretty funny episodes all the same — episodes where the host segments really carried the movie, in a few cases.

Honestly, I can think of only two episodes where the host segments weren't the best part to me.
Starcrash and The Christmas That Almost Wasn't. I can barely remember anything but the actual movie, because the movies were actually pretty good in a campy way.

Fresh-eyed movie blogI don't know, the two Wizards of the Lost Kingdom(s) and especially Carnival Magic are that special kind of Season 2 terrible that really works for me. Yeah, The Great Space Circus Shoo-o-o-ow does outshine the rest of the episode, but I wouldn't blame that on the episode or anything.
I've said it before, I would love to see them riff on an animated film, maybe one of the numerous mockbusters of Disney/Dreamworks films, or if you want something less recent, maybe something like Adventures of the American Rabbit or Starchaser. Maybe even riff on one of the bad American dubs like Clash of the Bionoids (Macross: Do You Remember Love) or Warriors of the Wind (Nausicaa and the Valley of the Wind), though it might be too hard to get the rights to those (you'd have to go through both the American distributors and the original Japanese rights holders).
I wouldn’t mind shorts. Stuff like “A date with the family” is classic MST 3 K.
I'm finally watching MST 3 K The Movie again (got it from the library six weeks ago) and I'm picturing how meta it would be to have the modern crew riff it.
Oh wow, this is what it looks like when they have a real tv-size budget.

According to Joel, Netflix was very understanding of MST 3 K's desire for non-exclusivity, so I think it'll be fine.
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies.
