14/70. Not surprised. I'm not too sweary unless I am getting really *censored* off.

That last swear on that list is horrific though. You have to really hate someone to call them that.

'Bollockfaced shitnubbins'.

I seriously need to use that sometime. See what reaction I get.

Anyway, just 14/70. As an Australian, I am highly offended by this low score.

You’re a bit fucking sweary, but you could be swearier. Sort your shit out.

34.

I've actually tried to use some British swears IRL, but it never sounds right. Which is sad, because I think the US really needs "wank(er), piss off, and cuntflap."

I find it amusing that all the Scottish tropers seem to have very high scores.

And if you don't like that, well, you can...

I'm from Scotland (but not living there now) and I didn't score too high. Must not be a true Scotsman then :P

1/70

I have only ever swore once, and that was on accident. I promptly ran to a teacher, told on myself and began crying.

I only started letting myself swear sometime in proximity of my 21st birthday. (Probably coincidental) Before that, I only swore accidentally once, at church. I was in fourth or fifth grade, and the kids group had gone outside to play kickball, with improvised bases. I was fielding first base, which was a branch sticking out of a stick pile. One kid nearly broke it as he ran past tagging it, and I yelled, right in front of everyone and the children's director, "YOU NEARLY BROKE THE STICK DAMMIT! ... I mean, dangit. I mean, darn it."

The children's director made me promise to tell my parents, and I told my dad, whose response was "these things happen." A few days later, my mom was talking to the children's director and it came up, and she was pretty mad I hadn't said anything.

Do people really consider "dangit" that bad of a term?

I did at the time. I didn't let myself say it until years after.

At that age, I thought "aw, man" was too strong.

I was rarely discouraged from non-sanitized media, just steered toward the sanitized. My mother took the movie ratings that specify ages seriously. I was only allowed to watch PG-13 movies with explicit permission after her review, and R-rated movies were "you're not allowed under 17, over 17 I can't stop you".

Both my parents (my dad moreso) like Star Trek, so I was pretty much watching TNG before I was weaned. My mom's never been comfortable with us watching The Simpsons, but she doesn't stop us. Well, she had me go to a different room to watch if my younger brother was there for a while. And she had me stop Hocus Pocus because she thought it was getting too scary for him.

For a few years she tried to get us to quit Halloween, but the genie was out of the bottle.

You ticked off 21 out of 70 on this fucking list!

That’s the shit! You’re fucking brilliant, and everyone knows it. Well fucking done.

Funny, considering at some points every 5th word out of my mouth is a curse word.

My best guess as to why I avoided such things myself was because my parents were my main role models and they were just not interested in them.

They like to say the reason I read a lot as a kid was because I had to get them to put the book down whenever I wanted attention.

Do people really consider "dangit" that bad of a term?

'Damn it' isn't considered swearing at all here. It's the mild alternative to swearing that gets used when kids are about. 'Darn' is a comical thing that only Americans and cartoon characters say, kind of like 'gosh'.

'Dangit' is...something Yosemite Sam might say.

I am very sweary but seldom in a social situation that allows it.

It is frustrating.

It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothes
