If I see Shun summon Rise Falcon in attack mode first turn one more fucking time I'll punch a wall. Also, three level 6's he has no way to special summon, I have to believe he seriously runs those.

Yuya Vs. Reiji is a very frustrating duel to watch due to Yuya failing to attack with Beast-Eyes in the right order and summoning Odd-Eyes alongside Dark Rebellion when he really didn't need to.

There's more out there, I'm just too lazy to think up examples.

@Nickpws Yeah, the ONLY time summoning an attack position Rise Falcon turn 1 is acceptable is when you have Ultimate Mace and/or Readiness on the field to protect it AND avoid that accursed 'but you still take damage' cliche...although Readiness would still require an additional Raidraptor in the grave to use its no damage effect. If you're dumb enough to summon Rise Falcon turn 1, chances are you won't HAVE have Raidraptor in the grave in the first place...And of course, Ultimate Mace is dogshit, much like Ciphers.

The order of whether Beast-Eyes or Rune-Eyes attacked first during the Yuya vs Reiji rematch doesn't really matter as Reiji still would have survived due to his trap card negating the last attack's battle damage. We saw Rune-Eyes attack first and inflict 2100 points of damage against the Trifecta (leaving Reiji at 1900 LP) followed by an attempted finisher via Beast-Eyes attacking directly for 3000.

If Beast-Eyes had attacked first, assuming Yuya was smart enough to target the weakest monster (Temujin, at 2000 ATK), Beast-Eyes would inflict 1000 battle damage + 1900 burn damage (due to having Splash Mammoth as material), leaving Reiji at 1100 LP, followed by Rune-Eyes attacking Caesar and Alexander, dealing exactly 1100 damage, but the last battle damage being cancelled by Contract Change, leaving Reiji at 500-600 LP.

You are right about the idiocy of summoning Odd-Eyes alongside Dark Rebellion, though. That just allowed Caesar Ragnarok to mitigate the damage. Not that Yuya knew that effect, of course.

Good lord Academia really IS a joke. The main members are either repeatedly cockblocked like Yuri or are converted by Egao like those jokes in the Xyz Dimension (Edo, the Tyler Sisters, all the Academia forces) or card themselves like Dennis. MEANWHILE a fucking random character of the week/month/whatever (Battle Beast) is accomplishing more than the abovementioned characters combined by soloing Tsukikage, Crow, Gongenzaka, Sawatari and Yuya (singlehandedly carding the former two and injuring the third).

I supposed I've bitched enough for the month, assuming our heroes don't keep fucking up with their misplays in the coming episodes, or Kaito wins another duel with his dogshit archetype, or Yuya's Egao mind-control claims another victim.

You know, I'm kinda impressed that Yuya hasn't spouted his "Dueling is for bringing smiles!" line at all over the past month. That's impressive. Anyway, my probably-totally-off-base predictions for what's going to happen once this survival game is past:

• Yusho and Reiji both make it to Reio's throne room for him to exposit the true nature of his plan to them (and possibly the rest of the Lancers if they're not present via a Palantir Ploy). He'll ROFLstomp Reiji and/or Yusho either after or during his villain speech.
• Yugo will duel Yuri as hinted at by the OP and lose, setting up Yuya vs. Yuri
• Kaito jobs to the Doctor guy; Phoenix will be the one to ultimately beat him.
• Reira and Shingo try to save Serena (maybe you could have one of them duel Barrett in the process since he still needs to be dealt with), while Sora and Asuka go for Yuzu and may-or-may-not have to duel her depending on whether she gets Parasite Fusioner or not.
• Then just pull out some other new Academia characters and more mooks to keep everyone else occupied/provide chances for supporting cast members left behind in Standard, Synchro, and XYZ to save the day out of nowhere like Jack and we'd probably be good to go until Reio finds a way to trigger his evil plan regardless of everyone else's efforts.

I'd rather Gogenzaka duel Yuzu if anyone. They're supposed to be friends too but the show seems to be making her friendship with Yuya out to be more important so it would be nice to see the two get some important interactions together. They've had a few but not as many as Yuya and Yuzu have had with each other.

I think we'd have some more scenes with those two if Yuzu wasn't separated the whole time, which is annoying.

Episode 121:

JACK ATLAS turns the tide, and BB shows the flaw of a living weapon that sees everyone as an enemy.

And BB turns against Sanders. I actually saw it coming a little bit - but not in the way it occurred. I thought he'd take advantage of an opening the heroes made and attack him directly, but then he just straight up uses Sanders' own monster to defeat him and most likely Card him afterwards.

I've got some theories as to what BB is, and how he was turned into what he is. Sanders talked of making BB what he was, and Yuya likewise said something about BB made him look inwards, and specifically, look at the inner darkness.

My first theory is that somehow Academia was involved in a science experiment gone wrong - more likely with that creepy doctor around - and as a result, two of their students were fused together into one Gestalt. The process drove the resultant Battle Beast absolutely insane, and made him see everyone around him as things to be hunted. Sanders basically grabbed him up after that and started trying to make him into an ultimate weapon, but was disappointed by his crazed and uncontrolled nature.

My follow up theory is that we've only thus far seen one of the students involved in the Gestalt, and that the other will "tag in" at some point. Most likely signified by BB's eyes changing. While the first is maniac and prone to Ax-Crazy shows, the Second is vastly more ruthless and cold, and has been wanting to get back at Sanders for some time now. He'll push Yuya and Jack pretty far.

I know Fusion is a big thing with this world, but that seems pretty far out there. What made you come up with this theory?

The change of the eyes, the way Sanders talks about him - he seems more like a valuable Academia Experiment Gone Horribly Right. If I had to guess, given the recently spoiled topics about Yuya and such, Leo Akaba wanted to know how fusing people worked - given it is heavily involved in the storyline considering Yuya and Yuto's situation and the "WE SHALL BECOME ONE!" thing. He wanted to figure out how the hell that worked, and if he could do something similar.

However as I covered, attempting to create a similar situation to the Yu boys without the "fusion material" having the connection the Yu boys have was a disaster. The result went into the same dark territory Yuya's Berserk Mode took him into. Notice the similar traits there with the red eyes and abnormal traits.

Well, new episode summaries have surfaced (not too different from my predictions so far):

• 123: Asuka vs. Yuri. The episode title is something like "The Brilliant Mechanical Dragon" which is very similar to the episode title when she was introduced which referred to Vishnu, so do their aces get fused somehow? I dunno, but the summary suggests that Yuri might not be using his regular deck at any rate.
• 124: Yuya/Yuto vs. Ruri. So yeah, Shun's rescue effort didn't work out too well it seems.
• 125: Part 2 of the previous. Except now Serena's involved somehow and the episode title is "The Blazing Dragon" which you would think would refer to Jack, but...
• 126: The big "Reio explains the whole plot" episode. Also, Yugo vs. Yuri.

Actually the flashbacks to Yuya when he would close himself off from the world makes me believe BB acts the way he does out of fear and trauma over his issues of being made into an elite Academia soldier. Even as he cards him Sanders continues to tell him to take down the enemy afterwards and he lets his mask slip when he nearly got beaten, which is what made Sanders join the duel.

Creepy guy perfecting the art of brainwashing. All villains should learn from this guy.

Also it annoys me that only now do they have LP penalties on the enemy as part of the plot. That never happend before. Hell Yugo OTK Obelisk force with no penalty way back.
